We host Football Sunday at our house all the time. Like, pretty much every single week during football season. We turned out garage into a home theater, basically, and we project the games on one of the garage’s walls. So, it’s a really fun atmosphere to cheer on your favorite team.

Hosting the game means making snacks too because, let’s be honest, for some people, the snacks are the best part of the game. Especially the big game if you’re team isn’t in it. You’re just there for the food.

When we think about game day food, so many people think of Buffalo wings. Which yes, we have at our party. But, we also make sure to have some vegetarian and vegan snacks too so that everyone is happy.

20+ Vegetarian Game Day Recipes

We’re splitting this up into two sections: vegetarian recipes and vegan recipes. They’re all our favorite game day recipes that are meatless. Because yes, you can have great snacks even if you’re vegetarian (which, full disclosure: we’re not; but we do make vegetarian snacks all the time so we can please all of our guests).

Vegetarian Recipes

These section of the list is filled with vegetarian recipes. They all have some form of dairy, making them vegetarian rather than vegan. If you want the vegan recipes, scroll a little further down.

A chip with dip on it over a red ramekin of dip surrounded by crackers and the words "Spanakopita Dip" digitally written on top.

Spanakopita Dip

Dips are perfect for game day. It’s so easy to make a dip, open up some crackers or chips, and feed a crowd.

This Spanakopita Dip will do just that. It’s a twist on a traditional spinach dip and is basically the filling of a spanakopita served in dip form. It’s great.

Five puff pastry cups with spinach and feta in them and the words "Spanakopita Puff Pastry Bites" digitally written on top.

Spanakopita Puff Pastry Bites

If you want to serve finger food rather than a dip, make these Spanakopita Puff Pastry Bites instead of the spanakopita dip above.

This has the same spanakopita filling, but instead, this is served in puff pastry.

Wonton mozzarella sticks on a tray with a bowl of marinara sauce in the back and the words "Air Fryer Wonton Mozzarella Sticks" digitally written above them.

Air Fryer Wonton Mozzarella Sticks

Mozzarella sticks are the perfect go to game day snack. But, you don’t have to open a box of frozen mozzarella sticks. You can easily make them at home.

This Air Fryer Wonton Mozzarella Sticks recipe uses wonton wrappers as the outside of the mozzarella sticks, which is a fun twist on a classic game day food.

A tortilla chip coming out of bean dip with the words "Easy Cheesy Refried Bean Dip" digitally written on top.

Easy Cheesy Refried Bean Dip

This Easy Cheesy Refried Bean Dip recipe is so incredibly easy. It’s so easy, you can throw it together during a commercial break. It’s only six ingredients, mixed together, then put in a casserole pan and baked.

Don’t forget to pick up some tortilla chips for dipping into this tasty dish.

Chunky Guacamole in a container with the words "Homemade Chunky Guacamole" digitally written on top.

Guacamole

You can’t have a football party with guacamole. At least, we can’t. This is our absolute favorite guacamole. We make it chunky, not smooth, and it’s absolutely delicious that way.

This guacamole recipe uses Parmesan cheese instead of queso fresco. But, you can easily make it vegan by either skipping the cheese completely or adding some vegan cheese in place of the parmesan. If you do sub it out, though, make sure to serve it with some salty tortilla chips or our homemade pita chips because the Parmesan adds a little salt to the recipe.

A guacamole cup on a plate with the words "Guacamole Wonton Cups" digitally written on top.

Guacamole Wonton Cups

If chips and dips just aren’t for you (too many dipping hands, I get it), the best thing to do with guacamole is to put it in wonton cups.

It’s the perfect way to serve guacamole without having anyone dip or double dip. This way, they’re all single serve, so your guests can just grab a snack and keep the party going.

Filled wonton wrappers on a tray with the words "Jalapeño Popper Wonton Cups" digitally written on top.

Jalapeño Popper Wonton Cups

Speaking of wonton cups, another really fun way to use them is in these Jalapeño Popper Wonton Cups. It’s a twist on a traditional recipe for jalapeño poppers.

Wonton cups actually make anything the perfect finger food. With traditional poppers, you have to worry about not touching your face after because the peppers can be hot. With this version, you’re only touching the wonton wrappers, so there’s nothing to worry about.

Air Fryer Pizza Rolls.

Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

Pizza rolls are the perfect football snack. Everyone likes them.

It’s actually so easy to make your own too. We make these as Air Fryer Pizza Rolls because they cook really easily in the air fryer. But, if you wanted to, you could cook them in the oven too. Whatever works for your crowd.

Spinach and Artichoke dip in a bowl.

Spinach & Artichoke Dip

Dips are always a good idea (just ask Martin Short’s character on Only Murders In The Building). So definitely add this Spinach & Artichoke Dip to your party spread.

This delicious dip really easy to make and is something you can make ahead of time since you don’t need to serve it warm. That makes your life just a little bit easier (and really, don’t we all want that).

Be sure to pick up some tortilla chips to serve with this. You might also want to cut up some fresh veggies (broccoli, celery, carrot sticks, and bell peppers are good options) to serve with this as well.

Potato Rounds in a plate with the words "Parmesan Potato Rounds" digitally written on top.

Parmesan Potato Rounds

These Parmesan Potato Rounds are another vegetarian recipe that can easily be made vegan. Just leave off the Parmesan cheese. These potato rounds are easily made from Russet potatoes, although you could make them from sweet potatoes too if you wanted. Or heck, use a mix of both.

Serve them with a sour cream onion dip to really elevate them.

If you’re going to serve these to a large group, just make sure to use multiple trays to make them. Crowding them on a tray seems like a good solution to make a lot of these, but trust me. That’s not a good idea.

Pieces of bread with pesto, tomato, and parmesan cheese on it with the words "Kale Pesto Bruschetta" digitally written on top.

Kale Pesto Bruschetta

Bruschetta is always a good game day snack because it’s easy to grab, bite, and then get back to the game. This Kale Pesto Bruschetta is made from homemade kale pesto, which is absolutely my favorite pesto. Seriously. I eat it by the spoonful.

We actually have a few other bruschetta recipes on this list, so you can actually make a mix of them to serve at your party instead of just making one type.

Deviled Eggs With Tajin.

Deviled Eggs With Tajin

Deviled Eggs are always a crowd pleaser. And our recipe has a little twist that most don’t: Tajin. Also rice wine vinegar. So, lots of twist on this game day classic.

When you’re making these, though, be sure to make more than you think people will eat. They’re always the first appetizer to go.

Cream Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms.

Cream Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

Stuffed Mushrooms are one of those appetizers that everyone is really happy to see, but they never think about. So impress your guests and make these Cream Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms.

Sure, they can feel a little tedious to make, but they’re so worth it.

Cheesy Garlic Dough Balls.

Cheesy Garlic Dough Balls

Are these Cheesy Garlic Dough Balls a classic game day dish? No. But, I made them for our party last year and they were such a hit. So I had to add them to this list.

These use two ingredient dough (which, yes, is also what we use for our pizza dough), which is our favorite easy recipe for dough. You don’t have to worry about it rising or proofing. As soon as you make it, it’s ready to go.

Broccoli Rabe Crostinis.

Broccoli Rabe Crostinis

If you’re inviting Pete to your football party, definitely make these Broccoli Rabe Crostinis. I made them for his birthday party a few years ago and they were a really big hit.

Broccoli rabe is definitely a polarizing vegetable (you either love it or hate it), so figure out what side your party guests are on before you make a bunch of this.

Vegan Recipes

If you’re looking for the best vegan finger foods and dips to serve at your party, this section of the list is for you.

It's so easy to make your own salsa. Get this homemade salsa recipes from www.drugstoredivas.net.

Homemade Salsa

This Homemade Salsa kicks off a trio of vegan salsas that we have on this list. This one is the most basic and mellow for the masses (so not spicy at all). After you realize how easy it is to make fresh salsa at home, you’ll wonder why you ever purchased it at the store.

Salsa and chips on a tray with the words "Super Spicy Weight Watchers Salsa" digitally written on top.

Super Spicy Salsa

The salsa before this one was mellow and this one is really spicy. That’s why it’s called Super Spicy Salsa. The name doesn’t lie.

If you don’t want the salsa this spicy, you can find a balance (just add less hot peppers) to make it a little calmer.

Pear, mango, and onion in a bowl with the words "Mango Salsa" digitally written on top.

Mango Salsa

This Mango Salsa is so good and perfect is you like easy recipes. All you need to make it is some fruit, a red onion, and a knife to cut everything up. That’s really all it is.

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and you have a delicious vegan salsa. Just make sure to get some chips to serve this with.

Avocado Toast Bruschetta.

Avocado Toast Bruschetta

Avocado Toast is so popular. Everyone loves it. So, if you want a twist on it to add to your game-day spread, look no further than this Avocado Toast Bruschetta. It’s everything you like about avocado toast, just smaller.

If you don’t need to make this vegan, a dash of Parmesan or queso fresco on top is a great addition. But, leave that off and it’s still delicious.

Air Fryer Potato Chips.

Air Fryer Potato Chips

Potato chips are probably the favorite snack for game day. Or, if not the favorite, the most common for sure. But, if you forgot to grab some for the big game, don’t worry. You can easily make your own at home in the air fryer. They’re easy — and they’re vegan.

All you need are potatoes, olive oil, and salt. It’s so, so simple.

Carrot Chips in a bowl.

Carrot Chips

Who needs potato chips when you can have carrot chips? Or, I mean, you can have both since they’re both vegan and both delicious. Honestly, chips are the perfect addition to any game night, so the more the merrier.

Air Fryer Kale Chips.

Air Fryer Kale Chips

And while we’re chatting about crispy snacks, how about you add these Air Fryer Kale Chips to your game day menu. You’ll love having them as a tasty option for your guests.

These kale chips are made from simple ingredients: kale, salt, and oil. That’s it.

Chocolate-covered pretzels, decorated to look like footballs, in a container with the words "Chocolate Football Pretzel Rods" digitally written on top.

Chocolate Football Pretzel Rods

How super cute are these Chocolate Football Pretzel Rods? They’re a dessert that you can make ahead of time, which is great because you can cross one item off your to do list for game day.

Plus, everyone loves chocolate-covered pretzels.

Football bark pieces layered on a counter with the words "Fantasy Football Candy Bark" digitally written on top.

Fantasy Football Candy Bark

When you figure out what teams are in the big game, you can go ahead and make this Fantasy Football Candy Bark in team colors. It’s a fun way to bring the teams in your game-day snacks without having to worry about piping team logos onto cupcakes.

Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Holes on a wire cooling rack with the words "Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Holes" digitally written on top.

Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Holes

I usually pick up some doughnut holes for our game day parties, but they don’t always go. But, when I make these Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Holes, I can’t keep them on the table. They’re the first dessert to go. So they’re definitely worth making for your party.
