Air Fryer Kale Chips are such a quick and delicious snack. This Kale Chips recipe is ready in under 10 minutes.

I’ve gotten back into the habit of walking three miles a day again, which is good, but also feels like it’s in vain. Because I like snacks. Chips, chocolate, dips, chocolate that you dip chips into. I’m here for all of it. My pants, well, they’d rather I stick with something healthy. So I compromised and figured out how to make air fryer kale chips.
You guys.
What do the kids say when something is good? It’s not the bomb dot com. I don’t know why people ever said that during the dot com era. I was not “people” in that sentence.
But whatever the cool kids are saying now, that’s what I want to say about these air fryer kale chips. They’re no joke. They’re so freaking good.
If you’re on Weight Watchers, kale is 0 points, so this is basically a 0 point snack (the oil and salt is so little, I wouldn’t count it towards your points). If you’re following a keto diet, these are great because kale is considered a “keto vegetable.”
Air Fryer Kale Chips
The secret to these kale chips is steaming them first. That will allow them to get crisp when you air fry them rather than completely burning them.
So please, don’t skip that step. If you do, these kale chips won’t work out.
What You’ll Need:
- 1/2 bunch kale
- Salt
- Drizzle of olive oil
What You’ll Do:
Pre-heat the air fryer to 380.

Cut the kale from the stems, then cut that into small pieces.

Fill the bottom of a large pot about 1-inch high. Put in an expandable steamer basket.
Put the kale into the steamer basket and put the lid on the pot. Turn the heat up to high and let it steam for five minutes.
Remove the steamer basket from the pot.

Using a pair of tongs, move the kale pieces from the steamer basket to the air fryer basket.

Drizzle a tiny bit of oil (approximately 1 teaspoon or less) on the kale chips. Sprinkle them with salt.
Side note: The point of the oil is mostly just to make sure the salt sticks to the chips. If you put dry seasoning onto the kale, it will just fly around the air fryer.
Cook for two minutes, shake the air fryer basket, then cook for an additional two minutes.

Eat immediately. If you wait, they could get soggy.
