We had jarred artichoke in the cabinet for a really, really long time. We bought it for pizza and never used it so it was just sitting there.
I decided that I wanted to make spinach and artichoke dip with it. I never made it before, so I looked for a recipe online and found Alton Brown’s spinach and artichoke dip recipe. It had five stars of almost 500 reviews and my dad has made Alton Brown’s pancake recipe … which was amazing.
Plus, this recipe was so incredibly simple. So I went with it.
It calls for frozen artichoke hearts, but I used the jarred one. I’ve actually never seen frozen artichoke before (but I’ve also never looked for it either).
Alton Brown’s Spinach & Artichoke Dip
What You’ll Need:
- 10oz. frozen spinach, thawed
- 1 jar of artichoke, chopped
- 1/3 cup Parmesean
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 6oz. cream cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- (1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes … I didn’t use this but Alton Brown’s recipe calls for it)
What You’ll Do:
Cube the cream cheese and microwave it for one minute.
Add all the other ingredients.
Serve.
Seriously, that’s it. And it was amazing. I told Pete that we can have a party now since we have a dip to serve.
