If you’re looking for pescatarian meals to get you through this Lenten season, this list of Fish Recipes For Lent has good lunch and dinner ideas.

If you’re Christian, Lent means no meat on Fridays.
It does mean that you can have fish, though.
Small aside: Christians technically give up fleshmeat out of respect for the fact that Jesus gave his flesh for us. Fleshmeat, by definition, excludes fish. So Christians can eat fish.
For me, personally, I avoid fish and go vegetarian on Fridays because, although fish was a poor man’s food back in Jesus’ time, it’s a luxury with grocery prices now. So having seafood on Fridays feels indulgent, rather than a sacrifice. So, vegetables for me and my house.
But, if you abstain in the letter of the law more than the essence, like me, this list of fish recipes for Lent will give you some good ideas.

If you want fish for Lent, but you just don’t have it in you to cook today, there are so many fast food fish sandwiches out there to choose from. That list has over 20 locations for you to choose from.
Fish Recipes For Lent
As we add more fish recipes to Drugstore Divas, we’ll be sure to add them to this post. So save it (bookmark it, pin it, however you save posts) and come back all Lent long to see what new dishes we’ve added.

Tuna Cakes
The almighty “they” call tuna cakes “poor man’s crabcakes” because a can of tuna is so much cheaper than crab meat. Which, is true. But, other than the fish, these tuna cakes are almost identical to crabcakes.
I’ve made these for guests and they have really liked them.
So, if you’re feeding friends on a Friday during Lent and want them to feel like like they’re indulging, but you don’t wanna break the bank, this recipe is perfect.

Spicy Tuna Cucumber Bites
I make these spicy tuna cucumber bites when I’m looking for a light lunch on a Friday during Lent.
The soft tuna salad is a great contrast to the crunchy crunchy cucumber, creating such a satisfying bite.

Spicy Tuna Jalapeño Poppers
These spicy tuna stuffed jalapeño poppers are a really fun snack lunch for a Friday during Lent when you’re hungry, but you don’t want a huge meal.
The crunch from the pepper contrasts with the soft tuna filling really well.
You could add these to some sort of charcuterie board with cheese and crackers if you’re looking for something a little more filling.

Fish Stick Stir Fry
We always think of fish sticks as a kids meal. And because of that, fish sticks are often on sale during Lent. So you might buy them and then need a way to use them.
This budget-friendly meal has all the delicious flavors of a traditional stir fry, but with crunchy fish sticks added in to make a Lent-friendly lunch.

Pan-Seared Tuna Teriyaki
Pete loves when I make him tuna steaks for dinner during Lent. One of my favorite ways to do that is this pan-seared tuna teriyaki.
The fish is seared quickly, so it’s really an easy weeknight dinner.
