Don’t tempt me with a good time. And don’t tempt me with the chance to be extra. Because I will take both opportunities.
So of course, given the chance, I’m making an adorable Valentine’s Day-themed breakfast board.
I actually made this one for us last weekend after church to have as an early Valentine’s Day brunch board. I timed everything so it was all done at once, then quickly assembled the entire board.
Then, I brought it out on our back porch (because it was 70 F last Sunday) and we sat outside and enjoyed the board and it was such a great way to spend time together.
So definitely make it this Valentine’s Day. Your whole family will have so much fun with this.

This Valentine’s breakfast board is the perfect way to start the day, especially if you’re spending the holiday at home. And, if you are, our Tips To Celebrate Valentine’s Day At Home post will give you some great ideas.

The ingredients list is what we used to make our board, so definitely buy them if you want to recreate ours. But, here’s the best part of charcuterie boards: You can customize them to your taste buds. So, you can use this as a guide, but buy your favorite breakfast foods and fresh berries to make your board.
Valentine’s Day Breakfast Charcuterie Board Ingredients:
You can get the full list of ingredients with measurements in the recipe card below.
- Low sodium bacon – You can get the regular bacon if you want, but we always feel like the low sodium is salty enough.
- Breakfast sausage links – Get the frozen packs in your grocery store. They’re usually precooked, so all you’re really doing is warming them up.
- Frozen heart-shaped pancakes – If you can’t find frozen heart-shaped pancakes, you can use frozen round pancakes yourself.
- Fresh strawberries – You’re going to cut these into heart shapes to stick with the Valentine’s Day theme.
- Green grapes – Green grapes add a little bit of a different color to your very two-toned board.
- Valentine’s Day sprinkles – These add a little extra pop of Valentine’s Day.
- Maple syrup – If you don’t use syrup for your pancakes, you can substitute peanut butter or Nutella instead.
- Whipped cream – The canned whipped cream, not the tub of whipped topping.
How To Make A Valentine’s Day Breakfast Charcuterie Board:

Pre-heat the oven to 400 F.
Cut your bacon in half.
Yes, you’re going to want to cut your bacon slices in half. It’ll fit on your breakfast board better that way.
Line a baking sheet with foil, then add your bacon halves, making sure not to overlap them.
Put the tray in the oven and bake for nine minutes.
Flip the bacon and cook for an additional six minutes.
Let the bacon cool on a paper towel-lined dish.
If you’ve never made bacon in the oven this way, you need to. It makes perfectly crisp bacon without the mess. Then, when the bacon grease has cooled, you can ball up the foil and throw it in the trash.
Now, yes, I do save bacon grease and cook with it, so when I need some, I don’t make bacon this way. But, when I don’t need bacon grease, this is my go to move.

While that’s cooking, make your frozen breakfast sausage on the stove top according to the package directions.
It should be something like, add three tablespoons of water to a skillet with the frozen sausage, cook covered for five minutes then uncovered for three minutes.
However you cook it, if you start them after the bacon, they’ll be done before the bacon is done, making your life easier.

Then, cook the frozen pancakes in the air fryer according to the package instructions.
If you’re making mini pancake bites like us, they should take about five minutes at 350 F.
Quick note: If you can’t find mini pancakes in your grocery store’s freezer, you could make your own pancakes using a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Or you could make heart-shaped waffles, if you have a heart-shaped waffle maker that is.
You can go with those options and it will be delicious. It will just take a little longer and I was just trying to make this as easy for you as possible because not everything has to be a labor of love. Some things can just be love without the labor.

While that’s all cooking, let’s make heart-shaped strawberries.
Grab your strawberries (wash and pat them dry, of course) and cut a V-shape up at the top to remove the stem.
That quickly, and easily, makes a heart shape.
Then, cut the strawberry in half.
If you’re choosing berries, look for ones that one to more of a point at the bottom rather than ones that have a rounded bottom. The pointier ones will make better looking hearts.
Finally, wash and pat dry your grapes.

Now that everything is clean and cooked, it’s time to assemble the board.
Start with the pancakes since those are the star of the show.
Spread them across the center of the board, going from one side to the other.
You want to move them so it’s more of a wave of pancakes than a straight line. You don’t have to, but it looks more visually appealing this way. And if you’re going through all this effort, you want it to look beautiful.

Put the bacon in one of the corners.
Now you see why we had to cut the bacon in half originally.

Place the sausage in the opposite corner.

Put the strawberry hearts in one corner.

Add the grapes in the final corner.

Now, grab three small bowls.
Fill the smallest with Valentine’s Day sprinkles.
Find a spot on the board and add the sprinkle bowl.
If you don’t have empty spaces, just push around some of the items to create a space.

Fill the next sized bowl with maple syrup.
Again, find a space for it on the board. Try and keep it towards the middle of the board since it’s the middled (is that a word?) sized bowl.
Quick note: If you don’t put maple syrup on your waffles, peanut butter or Nutella would be a good alternative for this bowl. Just make sure to add a cheese spreader to your board because no one is dipping pancakes in peanut butter.

Finally, fill the largest bowl with whipped cream.
Find some space on the board for that.
Shoot for the opposite side of the board as where the sprinkles are.
Don’t feel too pressured to get the bowls in these exact placements. It’s not a big deal. This is your board and there’s really no wrong way to make it.

Then, have fun. Dip those mini pancakes in the syrup or in the whipped cream then sprinkles. Make a mess. Make memories.

Valentine’s Day Breakfast Charcuterie Board: Frequently Asked Questions
A traditional charcuterie board is set out on a large wooden board. But, I wouldn’t suggest one of those for this Valentine’s Day breakfast board because of the maple syrup. You really don’t want that dripping all over a wooden board. It’s a pain to clean up.
So instead, I suggest finding your largest plastic serving tray and using that instead. That’s so much easier to wipe off if it gets messy.
If you don’t finish the entire board, you’ll want to pack it up in airtight containers.
Personally, I put the pancakes in one container, the breakfast meats in a separate container, and finally, the fruit in its own container.
If no one dipped the pancakes into the syrup and sprinkles and just drizzled them instead, you can use a funnel to easily get the syrup and sprinkles back into their original containers.
The whipped cream isn’t the only thing from the bowls that can’t go back into its original container, so maybe make some hot chocolate and top it with the leftover whipped cream so it doesn’t go to waste.

More Valentine’s Day Breakfast Ideas:
If you want to add a little more protein to your Valentine’s Day breakfast than what we have here, you can make our heart-shaped hard-boiled eggs. You have to make those the night before so they can sit in the fridge overnight to form the hearts.
Speaking of, we have a long list of heart-shaped foods that you could check out as well.

More Unique Charcuterie Boards:
If you love the ideas of charcuterie, you have to try our Cookie Charcuterie Dessert Board. It’s super simple and filled with a variety of sweet treats, like frosting and mini chocolate chips to add to your cookies.
Our most popular, though, is our Charcuterie Tree For Christmas, which is a 3D tree-shaped board filled with various meats and hard cheeses. I know that one won’t work for this time of year, but keep it in mind for December.
