I really love cooking. I cook every meal at home, and I always make sure we have something really delicious for dinner. That way, no matter how our day is going, we always know we have a great dinner to look forward to.

What I don’t love, though, is cleaning after a weeknight dinner. By that point in the day, I just want to sit with Pete, binge one of our favorite shows, and relax.

Which is why sheet pan dinners are so great.

After a sheet pan dinner, all you need to do is wash one sheet pan. That’s it.

And you can make some really delicious meals on a sheet pan, like our Sheet Pan Sausage And Peppers.

Yes, sausage and peppers is often made in a skillet on the stove, which keeps all the ingredients in one pan. But with that version, you need to sit and babysit the recipe, stirring occasionally and making sure nothing burns.

With this version, you put everything on the sheet pan, pop it in the oven, and that’s about it.

It’s the perfect speed for a weeknight.

We used fresh beef sausage from Southside Market for our recipe. It adds a lot of flavor and it a little different than most recipes, since most people tend to buy pork sausage.

Either will work as long as you’re using fresh sausage.

Clean the peppers and thinly slice them. Add them to the sheet pan with the onion.

Side note: Three different colored onions really make your sausage and peppers dinner look pretty. But, if all you have are green peppers, that’s fine. Those will work as well.

The perfect potluck salad is this Broccoli Salad. It's salad WITH bacon. Get the recipe at www.drugstoredivas.net.

What are some good sides for sausage and peppers?

Sheet Pan Sausage And Peppers is a completely meal. You have your meat/protein, your vegetables, and, if you have the bread, you have your carbs too.

So, because of that, we always serve sausage and peppers with a side salad. Some of the best salads to eat with this are:

If you wanted, you could serve sausage and peppers with rice too. Just make rice in the rice cooker and serve this over the top. If that’s your plan, I would cut the onion and pepper slices in half so they’re a little smaller and easier to eat with rice.

Southside Market and Barbeque Fresh Original Beef Rope Sausage.

Southside Market and Barbeque Fresh Original Beef Rope Sausage Review:

Southside Market and Barbecue was established in Texas in 1882. There are four locations in Texas (in Austin, Bastrop, Elgin, and Hutto). You can go to one of those locations and dine in or purchase from the location’s meat shop or in certain Walmart and HEB locations.

Luckily for those of us outside of Texas, Southside Market & Barbecue has online ordering for nationwide shipping.

The Fresh Original Beef Rope Sausage is known around Elgin as “Hot Guts” and “Elgin Hot Sausage.” It’s Southside Market’s signature item.

Online, the Beef Rope Sausage is sold in packs of two (4 pounds total) for $35 or packs of four (8 pounds) for $65. It’s sold in ropes, exactly as its sold in the meat markets. The over 40-inch long rope is made from ground beef, seasoned with pepper, and covered in a natural pork casing. It’s made fresh, each day, in house.

The pork casing is so soft and tender. It’s really easy to cut through, which is impressive because some casings are so tough. With those, you’d never be able to cut the sausage into the medallions you need for this recipe.

We used this same brand of sausage, but not this exact fresh sausage, in our Grilled Sausage Kabobs recipe and in our Sausage And Egg Breakfast Quesadillas recipe.
