Thanksgiving is a really fun time to get the family together, hang out, eat, and watch football.
But, for little kids, it’s a long day. If you want an activity to help occupy them for a little bit between appetizers and the main course, have them color Thanksgiving place cards for the entire family. That’s a really fun way to keep the kids entertained while also adding a cute personalized touch to each Thanksgiving table setting.
And, I know. You have a lot on your plate when you’re hosing Thanksgiving. From shopping to cleaning to cooking, your hands are full.
Don’t worry. This craft is so incredibly easy. I already made the free printable Thanksgiving place cards. All you have to do is print them out and hand your kids some crayons. Super easy.

How To Make Free Printable Turkey Thanksgiving Place Cards:
Print out the free printable below.
We actually formatted them to fit onto a 5×7-inch piece of paper. Why that size? Because that’s the size of free cards at Walgreens that get offered often through the season. So, if you print these with that offer, you don’t have to buy paper to print them on. Plus, they’re printed on thick paper so they stand well, which is what you need from these.
If you don’t want to wait for a free card deal, you can order 5×7-inch white cardstock online (or possibly find it at one of your local craft stores) and print them at home.
If all you can find is a full-sized card stock paper, you can print it on that and then just use a paper cutter to trim it down to size.
I wouldn’t recommend printing them on regular copy paper because those won’t stand up by themselves on the table (which sort of defeats the purpose).
Hand your kids crayons and let them color in the turkey and the words “Gobble Gobble” above it.
Then, have them write the name of each guest under the turkey.
Fold the card in half (on the solid line in the center of the card) and piece one at each place setting. That way, everyone knows where to sit at the Thanksgiving dinner table.
If you print too many and need something to do with those leftover labels, instead of writing a person’s name on them, you could write the food’s name. Then, set them out along your buffet table as food label cards so everyone knows what they’re eating.
You can save them so you can use them year after year or just print out new ones in case you have new guests next year.
Thanksgiving Turkey Place Cards Free Printable:
The best part about this craft is that I already designed the printable for you. All you need to do is hit the download button below and save the PDF file to your computer. Then, print them out.
Just a quick note with terms of use for these. You have my permission to use this printable, or any free printable designs on Drugstore Divas, for your own personal use. So if you are picking them up at a print shop and they need permission for copyrighted material, you can show them this sentence.
However, you can’t use them for commercial use (since I did design them and I’m distributing them for free).
Printable Turkey Thanksgiving Place Cards: Frequently Asked Questions
I used Canva, which is one of my favorite image programs, to design this. I actually use it for the majority of the things I design for the blog and in my personal life. It’s so user friendly.
I know a lot of people design things in more professional programs, like Adobe acrobat. We used that at an old job I worked at. If that works for you, go ahead and use it. But it’s not my favorite.
I don’t create edible printable templates (mostly because I don’t know how). So, if you want something customized with your own text, your best bet is to create your own card.
Also, if anyone knows if there’s a way to create an editable PDF in Canva, drop me an email.
If you just want to use these as Thanksgiving coloring pages, you can print them onto regular printer paper. That’s a fun activity for young kids to do while everyone else is cooking or watching football.
However, that paper is really thin and won’t stand up on its own when you fold it. So, you can’t use those as place cards in the traditional sense.
If you really wanted, you could add the names of your guests onto them and just lay them flat at each table setting. It wouldn’t look the same as ours, but it would still work.
A regular home printer, like a traditional inkjet printer, is fine to print these. You don’t need anything fancy.

If you’re looking for some more creative Thanksgiving ideas, check out our DIY Toilet Paper Roll Turkey Craft. It’s one of our favorite things to make with the kids who visit here on Thanksgiving Day. All you need is some construction paper, paint, glue, scissors (of course), and some empty toilet paper rolls.
You can use them as name cards if you want, however, we would suggest you make them out of craft rolls instead of toilet paper rolls.
