I usually make coffee in the pot or I use a reusable K-Cup. The only time I use an actual K-Cup is when I get a sample of one in the mail. I got one recently, and my first thought was, “What can I turn this into?” Because in this house, nothing is garbage. Everything can be upcycled. So I drank the second K-Cup in the sample and then decided if I had a third, I could make a DIY K-Cup Snowman.
So, unbeknownst to my parents, I borrowed some K-Cups from them because I needed a trio of cups for a snowman.
This project was pretty easy to make. I did make it on a day when it was 70 degrees out recently, so that seemed pretty funny. But it is winter, and there is snow somewhere.
Just not here.
This DIY K-Cup Snowman is just one of the snowman crafts that we have one Drugstore Divas.

DIY K-Cup Snowman
What You’ll Need:
- 3 empty K-Cups
- Scissors
- Paint brush
- Black marker
- Black paint
- Green marker
- Green paint
- Orange marker
- Black card stock
- Glue
- Green ribbon
What You’ll Do:
Pull the foil off the K-Cup and clean out all the coffee. You’ll be left with a filter. You can leave that, if you want, but you can see if through the K-Cup. So personally, I would recommend pulling it out.
Wash the K-Cup and let it dry.
Paint one of the three K-Cups black. Let it dry completely.
Paint a second black coat and let it dry completely. If you painted the first coat side to side, paint the second coat up and down.
Let it dry completely.
From the black card stock, cut a circle just wider than the bottom of the K-Cup. Glue the K-Cup onto the circle and set it aside to dry.
Use the markers to draw a face on one of the K-Cups. Make sure you have the cup positioned with the smaller side up.
Glue that K-Cup on to a second K-Cup.
Use the nose as a reference point, then draw three green buttons down the center of the lower K-Cup.
Then, using those as a guide, paint on the face and buttons. If you don’t have a paint brush that’s small enough, you can use a toothpick instead.
When that has dried, wrap a piece of ribbon around the “neck” of the snowman. Glue it down to make a scarf.
Glue the hat down.
This DIY K-Cup Snowman is really light, so you can basically put him anywhere and he won’t topple over. If you’re worried about weighing him down, for some reason, you can put rocks in the bottom. I would suggest either painting rocks with white paint or purchasing white rocks so that you can’t see them through the K-Cup.
