When we were growing up, my aunts would put together special trick-or-treat bags for us. They’d have extra candy or some money in them, things that the regular trick-or-treaters didn’t get.
Now that I’m the aunt, I do the same thing for our nieces and nephews (plus our friends kids). When they come trick-or-treating here, they get something a little extra.
If you want to do the same, but you want something easy, look no further than our DIY Halloween Ghost Lollipop Holders. They only take a few minutes, are really adorable, and are a great way to make giving out lollipops look a lot more special.
You don’t need any sort of fancy machine or an SVG file to make these. You just need a pair of scissors and a little patience.
These lollipop holders are just one of the ghost crafts we have on Drugstore Divas. For more, check out our full list of Easy Halloween Ghost Crafts.

You can use any lollipops in this project, but using a flat lollipop rather than something round like a Blow Pop is a lot easier.
Of course, if you’re like me and you’re looking for frugal Halloween treats, just purchase whatever lollipops are on sale or that you have a coupon for and you can make it work.
Cut a ghost shape out of the card stock, making sure that the bottom of the ghost is against the fold of the card stock.
When you’re cutting the shape, you want to make sure that it’s large enough to cover the entire lollipop. A quick tip is to lay the lollipop on top of the card stock and use a pencil to mark off some areas to be mindful of when you’re cutting.
If you cut the card stock smaller than the lollipop itself, it defeats the purpose of the craft.
Use the hole punch to punch a small hole at the center of the fold. You want to try and line it up so that the punch only goes halfway up the paper (which will result in a full circle when you open the paper).
Use the black marker to trace around the edge of the ghost shape. At the bottom, be sure to make curved lines to make the “wave” at the bottom of the ghost. When you’re making the curve, be sure to allow it to go over, not through, the punched hole.
Draw a ghost face on the front of the paper.
If you’re making multiple ghost lollipops, you can give them all different expressions. That will make them really cute if you’re going to display them or have them all in a Halloween treat bowl.
Open the paper and stick the lollipop inside.
Put a tiny dot of glue at the top inside of the fold. Push the two sides together to glue the ghost lollipop holder shut. Let it dry completely.
You can freehand the ghost shape when you’re cutting the card stock. If you want something more even, you can fold a piece of printer paper in half and cut the ghost shape out of that. Then, put that over the top of the card stock and use it to cut out the shape.
If you use the printer paper as a template, you’ll end up with identical ghost-shaped lollipop holders every time.
What kind of lollipops work best with ghost lollipop holders?
We use flat lollipops when we’re making these Halloween ghost lollipops because it’s easier to fold the flat ghost lollipop holders on top of them.
If you can’t find flat lollipops, you can use round lollipops. Smaller ones, like the ones we use in our DIY Birthday Lollipop Tower are easier to work with than larger lollipops.
Is there a free printable for these Halloween Ghost Lollipop Holders?
We don’t have a printable for these Halloween Ghost Lollipop Holders. We just freehanded them with a pair of scissors, so we don’t have any template for it.
As far as free Halloween printables go, though, we do have a free You’ve Been Booed Printable. We also have a free Trick-Or-Treat printable that you can display in front of your Halloween treat bowl if you’re leaving it outside while you and your family go trick-or-treating.
