Fantasy Football Candy Bark

Fantasy Football Candy Bark

Looking for a sweet way to root on your favorite team? Try this Fantasy Football Candy Bark from www.drugstoredivas.net. Perfect for homegating, Super Bowl parties, the playoffs, and more! Plus, you can make it in any team colors! It’s football season. Well, for other people anyway. My Jets lost so many early games that the playoffs were not even in our minds. It was the kind of season where, if we won a game, that was a big deal. For Pete, though, his Giants made it into the playoffs. So, to celebrate, I had to make some Fantasy Football Candy Bark.

Everyone I showed it to was so impressed with it, like I was some sort of candy magician. In reality, though, this is one of the easiest homegating snacks you can make. You can change the colors to your team colors too, so it’s perfect. I (begrudgingly) made it blue and white for the Giants’ playoff game today. Maybe next year I’ll be making it in green and white. Wishful thinking, right?

Melt the blue candy melts according to the package. Small aside: If you’re making this on a cold day, melt them a little hotter than usual. They will cease up quicker on a cold day.

Use an icing spatula to spread the blue candy evenly on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet.

Melt the white candy melts according to the package.

Spoon dollops of the white candy into the blue candy. Don’t worry about trying to make it even.

Use a toothpick to swirl the white candy into the blue. Go back and forth from side to side as often as it takes to spread it out.

Add the football-shaped candy into the candy. Chill in the fridge until it is completely solid.

Use a knife to cut the candy into variously sized pieces. Serve to your guests and root on your favorite team!

If you’re not serving this right away, you can store it in a plastic bag in the fridge for up to a week.

Would you make this football candy bark? What colors would yours be?

Homemade Football Flatware Holder (Made From A Soup Can)

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?! Get ready for your perfect football party with this homemade football flatware holder -- made from a soup can! It's perfect for your Super Bowl party or your next tailgate.I keep telling Pete that when we have a house, we’re going to have themed parties. Every week, though, we’ll have football parties. That’s the definite plan. We have them ourselves now, but it would be fun to have people over to watch the game.

When we do, I’ll definitely be breaking out this homemade football flatware holder. For now, we’ll use it for our own game watching.

It was pretty easy to make, plus I only used items that I had at home. I love crafts where I have everything already. I will caution you to be careful. When I was washing the inside of the can, I slit my hand real bad on the edge. It happened so quickly — and painfully. It wasn’t anything a Band-Aid couldn’t fix, but next time, I would definitely stick this in the dishwasher instead. Just in case.

Peel the label off the can. Wash and dry it very carefully.

Measure the brown paper against the can. Make a small crease as a measurement line, using the edge of the can as a guide. That will help your paper to be slightly higher than the can itself.

Use the paper trimmer to cut the paper (a paper trimmer is amazing, by the way. It quickly and accurately cuts for you so you don’t get potentially wobbly lines like scissors give). You don’t have to trim it otherwise. That’s why the Progresso can is really great. It’s exactly the right size for this 11-inch sheet of paper.

Trim 1/8 of an inch of white paper.

Cut that strip in half, then cut the second half in quarters.

Glue the largest piece down the center of the brown paper.

Glue the four smaller pieces across the large white strip. Try to make them evenly spaced apart.

Add glue around the flat parts of the can. Again, be careful when you’re doing this. Use the middle as a place to hold, not the inside of the can.

Affix the paper to the can. Let it dry, then use it for your flatware.

Krispy Kreme: $3.99 For A Dozen Doughnuts, NC & SC (Today Only!)

Who is excited about the Carolina Panthers’ win yesterday? I definitely am … but for two reasons. First, we live in Carolina now so since my Jets are long out of it, I feel like Carolina is the dog (um … cat?) I have in the fight.

And second, there’s Krispy Kreme. The day after a Carolina Panthers win, you can get a dozen original glazed doughnuts for $3.99 (in North Carolina and South Carolina only).

If you don’t live in Panthers territory, that’s okay. You can actually download the Krispy Kreme app and get a free half dozen of original glazed doughnuts just for signing up.

There are only 20 days until football season officially kicks off. Who is excited. Pete and I both are, although we live in a divided household. I’m a Jets fan and he roots for the Giants. After five football seasons together, I still haven’t been able to change his mind — so I just let him live on the dark side.

Our first Christmas together, I got Pete a personalized Giants jersey (oh, the horror, right?). He has a Giants t-shirt too and I, shockingly, have no Jets gear. That’s about to change. I was checking out Fanatics and there is a ton of Jets stuff. Actually, the site pretty much has every team and every sport. If the NFL isn’t your thing, you can even check out items for college teams.

Even better, now through Sunday (August 23) at 9am EST, you can enter the code FREESHIP at checkout and get free shipping on any order, no minimum required. Sounds like a good time to order hats, shirts, and more to be ready for football season.

And, so, I have to ask: Who are you rooting for?
