It’s football season. Well, for other people anyway. My Jets lost so many early games that the playoffs were not even in our minds. It was the kind of season where, if we won a game, that was a big deal. For Pete, though, his Giants made it into the playoffs. So, to celebrate, I had to make some Fantasy Football Candy Bark.
Everyone I showed it to was so impressed with it, like I was some sort of candy magician. In reality, though, this is one of the easiest homegating snacks you can make. You can change the colors to your team colors too, so it’s perfect. I (begrudgingly) made it blue and white for the Giants’ playoff game today. Maybe next year I’ll be making it in green and white. Wishful thinking, right?
Fantasy Football Candy Bark
What You’ll Need:
- 1/2 bag white candy melts
- 1 bag royal blue candy melts
- Football-shaped gummy candy or football-shaped sugar candy
What You’ll Do:
Melt the blue candy melts according to the package. Small aside: If you’re making this on a cold day, melt them a little hotter than usual. They will cease up quicker on a cold day.
Use an icing spatula to spread the blue candy evenly on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet.
Melt the white candy melts according to the package.
Spoon dollops of the white candy into the blue candy. Don’t worry about trying to make it even.
Use a toothpick to swirl the white candy into the blue. Go back and forth from side to side as often as it takes to spread it out.
Add the football-shaped candy into the candy. Chill in the fridge until it is completely solid.
Use a knife to cut the candy into variously sized pieces. Serve to your guests and root on your favorite team!
If you’re not serving this right away, you can store it in a plastic bag in the fridge for up to a week.
Would you make this football candy bark? What colors would yours be?
