Savory Muffin Recipes
Cheddar Garlic Pull Apart Muffins
Grilled cheese and tomato soup are the perfect pairing in my mind. But sometimes, I just don’t feel like making grilled cheese. Actually, most times.
So now, whenever I make homemade tomato soup, I made Cheesy Garlic Pull Apart Muffins.
They go really well with the soup and are a lot easier to make than grilled cheese. Plus, they’re really fun to eat.
Turkey & Egg Muffins
I really like these Turkey & Egg Muffins (aka cups) as an easy breakfast idea.
You make them ahead of time and then store the Turkey & Egg Muffins in the fridge until you’re ready for breakfast. Heat them quickly in the microwave and you’re good to go.
The turkey crisps up really well and makes these a delicious breakfast idea. They’re also really easy to grab and go if you’re running late to work.
Bacon-Wrapped Egg Muffins
Bacon lovers will be thrilled with these Bacon-Wrapped Egg Muffins.
And you’ll be thrilled that they’re an easy make ahead breakfast recipe.
You can make a dozen of them at the start of the week and have them to eat all week through. These Bacon-Wrapped Egg Muffins have spinach in them, but you can change that to fit your taste.
Sweet Muffin Recipes
Bread Pudding Muffins With Crumble Topping
These Bread Pudding Muffins are a little sweet, but the sweetness is mostly in the crumble topping, not in the muffin itself. So if you are looking for a sweet muffin, don’t skip the crumble.
The crumble is the same as what you would find on a coffee cake, and it’s a traditional bread pudding on the bottom of the muffin, which is all sorts of delicious.
It isn’t served with the traditional vanilla sauce that you find with bread pudding because that would turn this more into a cupcake than a muffin. But you could certainly add that if you wanted.
Mint Chocolate Muffins
Don’t mind that these Mint Chocolate Muffins say they’re perfect for bridal showers. They are because of the “mint to be” pun that I love so much.
But honestly, these mint chocolate just perfect overall.
The mint chocolate baking chips add so much flavor to these chocolate muffins. Good luck eating just one.
Banana Nut Muffins
I absolutely love these Banana Nut Muffins. They have such a really nice crunch on top of them because of the nuts. Plus, they just look really pretty.
So if you’re having guests over for breakfast or brunch, these are a great muffin to make.
The photo says they’re perfect for a bridal shower brunch, but they are good for any brunch.
Muffin Recipes: Frequently Asked Questions
You have two good ways to fill muffin pans, depending on how uniformed you want to be.
If you’re not worried about being uniform, you can pour the batter from a mixing bowl with a lip. But, there’s a good chance of that leaving you with muffins that aren’t filled equally and won’t bake equally.
So, your better bet is to use an ice cream scoop to scoop your batter from the mixing bowl into the muffin pan. That will assure all your muffins are filled equally and will bake evenly.
You only want to fill muffin tins between 1/2 and 3/4 of the way full. Any more and the batter will spill out and may even bake together on the top, making a really big mess.
There isn’t a difference between a cupcake pan and a muffin pan. They’re the same thing. People just change the words based on what they’re baking.
However, here are different materials for those pans. The main two are metal and silicone muffin pans. What’s the difference between metal and silicone muffin pans?
A metal muffin pan is a traditional choice of pan. It’s made of (some type of) metal. It needs to be greased before adding the muffin batter, unless it’s a non-stick muffin pan.
The metal mini muffin pan heats while it’s in the oven, so it’s hot when it comes out of the oven. Cooling down the muffins and the pan is a good thing to do before removing them.
A silicone muffin pan is made from a silicone, which is oven safe. It’s really flexible, so you can’t fill it and then put it in the oven. You’ll definitely spill your muffin mix all over. Instead, you want to put the silicone muffin pan on a cookie sheet prior to filling.
Usually, a silicone muffin pan doesn’t need to be pre-greased for the muffins to pop out.
The silicone mini muffin pan doesn’t get hot in the oven, but the cookie sheet you bake it on will.
Then, there’s a muffin top pan, which you can use to bake just the rounded top of a muffin.
