Peppa Pig Theme Park: Everything you need to know

If you’re visiting Florida and want a day away from the large, crowded theme parks, you might prefer the smaller Peppa Pig Theme Park in Winter Haven, Florida. Find out all about it in this Peppa Pig Theme Park review.

A few years ago, a few months after the Peppa Pig Theme Park opened, my aunt took her granddaughter. And she loved it so much, they went back a second time that week.

If you didn’t know, its the “World’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park,” so of course, the whole park is Peppa Pig themed. You hear the theme song over the loud speaker all day, so if you have a Peppa Pig fan in your family, you have to go.

Quick note about that: There’s also Peppa Pig World inside Paultons Family Theme Park in the United Kingdom. That opened in 2011, so before the Florida park. However, only a piece of the park is Peppa Pig themed. The rest of Paultons Park is filled with unrelated rides and splash pads, sort of how Sesame Street Land is inside Sea World.

Later that year, when my entire family was in Florida for Christmas, my brothers took their kids to the theme park too.

But it wasn’t until last month, when Michelle took her two youngest kids, that someone actually said, “Hey Lisa, let me tell all your blog followers about this park.”

So, in case you’ve been on the fence about it, Michelle’s Peppa Pig Theme Park review will tell you all about it so you can decide if you should plan a trip for your whole family or not.

The Peppa Pig Theme Park is in Winter Haven, which is about 90 minutes from Orlando. So, if you’re heading to Orlando for a vacation, you can definitely fit it in.

And, if you’ll be there a while, you should check out our list of Things To Do In Orlando Besides Theme Parks (because, believe it or not, there’s more to do than go to Disney World and see Mickey Mouse).

Peppa Pig Theme Park Review

Now, on to Michelle’s review:

I took my two youngest kids to Orlando for a quick weekend getaway. We needed a break from the New York cold, windy, rainy weather. I found a great deal online for air and hotel. I had planned to just stay at the hotel and use the pool the whole time because it’s Florida, so the weather is hot, right? My 5-year-old son would have stayed in the pool the entire time, but me and my three-year-old son needed something else.

So, on the second day of our weekend trip, I wanted to find us something to do, but I needed to keep it budget friendly.

Peppa Pig Theme Park came up as an ad while I was scrolling on my phone. I watched some videos and decided we should try it. I brought my stroller wagon, mainly for my 5-year-old’s medical needs, but it also easily carries both kids. Disney doesn’t allow wagons, but Peppa Pig does, so that was great.

I had rented a car, so we made drive from our hotel to Peppa Pig. Parking was $35. Thankfully I found a spot right in the front of the parking lot without having to pay for priority parking.

You must pass through security before purchasing your tickets. When I got to ticket counter, the woman working suggested I buy online for some savings. It was only about $4 savings, but hey, every little bit counts.

All the information for show times, as well as a map of the park, is available to you via a QR code. So have your smart phone ready and charged.

Rides & Splash Pad

My older son immediately wanted to ride Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster, one of the five rides at the park. It’s basically the first thing you see as you enter under the Peppa Pig Theme Park welcome rainbow at the main entrance.

I stopped him because I tried to do a lap to get a feel of the park. But, my younger son had a meltdown when he saw the Muddy Puddles Splash Pad, located in the back of the park, exactly halfway if you’re trying to do a loop.

So, we stayed there and they had so much fun.

The splash pad has a huge play area with two small slides that are perfect for small children. There’s a large bucket that fills up with water that dumps onto anyone below (or near) it every so often, so keep an eye out for that.

My kids had a great time in that area. But, it’s Florida heat. So, I grabbed them some water and ice cream, and we sat quietly in the shade for a little while. I will say the amount of shade was perfect and other theme parks should take notes.

If you think your kids will want to play there (and who wouldn’t?), you can either dress them in their bathing suits or change into them when you get there.

There are really cute changing rooms in the water play area. I had planned to use the huge dryer to dry the bathing suits, but we ended up not doing that. The cutest part was in the bathrooms they have tiny toilets for toddlers. I wish this was everywhere. My toddler is tiny and it’s hard trying to balance him on full size toilets.

Next to that is Grandad Dog’s Sand Play Area, which is a great area filled with sand for kids to play. There’s also Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride there.

Quick note about the rides: There are five total and, even though they’re all suitable and geared to fit young children — the demographic of most Peppa fan, some do all have minimum height restrictions.

For Mr. Bull’s High Striker and Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure, kids must be 34 inches and for Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster, they must be 36 inches to ride. On those three, there is a restriction that kids under a certain height must be accompanied by someone who is 14 or older. So, if you’re not traveling with older kids, get ready to ride.

Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride and Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride Guests don’t have height minimums, so anyone can ride, but riders who don’t hit a specific minimum need to be accompanied, again by someone who is 14 or older.

So, measure your kids before you get there, then get ready to ride.

Soft Play Areas

Besides the rides and splash pad, there are themed play areas that are branded with Peppa Pig characters, like Peppa Pig’s Treehouse and George’s Fort. There are statues of cut outs of the characters at the play areas, and little kids will get a kick out of those.

The cutest part is Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour where kids petal cute tricycles around.

It’s really cute, but it’s a small park. I did not realize how small this park is. I thought we had missed a whole area, but nope. In the three hours we were there, we had covered the whole park twice.

Now, we didn’t get to see the shows, but there are two 10-minute shows that rotate at Mr. Potato’s Showtime Arena. These shows are the only time you’ll get to see Peppa and the rest of the characters in costume, so if your kid wants to see Peppa in the flesh, make it a point to go.

If your kids don’t care about actual characters, just the animated ones, go to the Peppa Pig Cinema. It’s an indoor “movie theater” with large bean bags. It was exactly what we needed. The Cinema has a screen that plays Peppa Pig episodes all day. It’s the perfect place to take a break and get out of the sun.

Unfortunately, around 2 pm, the entire park was swarmed with these little black flying bugs that bite. We had bite marks. People were swatting trying to get the bugs away and I decided it was time to go. We only stayed a few hours, but we had enough time to do everything anyway. This isn’t somewhere you need to spend the whole day to feel like you got your money’s worth.

Dining

I stopped at a popcorn stand to buy some chips for our ride home, but a regular small bag of chips was $6.09. No thank you.

There’s actually only one restaurant in the entire theme park: Miss Rabbit’s Diner. It sells exactly what you would expect: grilled cheese ($9.89), mac and cheese ($9.59), and pizza ($13.89) for the kids. For adults, there are sandwiches (starting at $12.09), a chicken Caesar wrap ($14.55), and salads (starting at $9.95). There are drinks and milkshakes and hot drinks, in case you a hot Americano on a cold Florida day.

You can bring your own food into the park, as long as it doesn’t require heating and it can’t be in a cooler/bag with wheels or a hard sided cooler. Packing a sandwich lunch with chips and bottled water is okay and absolutely our suggestion. Or, if you need more than that, you can pack a cooler and leave it in your car. Then, when you’re ready to eat, just head out to the parking lot and have a picnic. That’s much more affordable than trying to feed your whole family inside the park.

Accessibility

Peppa Pig Theme Park really does its best to be inclusive.

It offers a HERO pass, which allows a one-time expedited attraction access for the guest and his or her party (up to 6). If the guest wants to ride a second time, that’s fine. But instead of expedited access, the guest will receive a specific return time to ride.

What’s also great is the theme park has a lot of accommodations for wheelchair users. They’re able to ride George’s Tricycle Trail and four of the six rides in the park.

There’s actually a full Accessibility Guide on the park’s website with a “Cognitive Disability Guide” so you can see what rides have any restrictions. It mentions strobe lights, rides that cannot be ridden by guests in full casts or pregnant women, and more.

There’s also a Sensory Guide, which has a sensory level summary with a scale for all five senses for every ride and attraction in the park.

If I was local and my kids were younger, I might consider buying our family annual passes, but as a visitor, I don’t think we need to go back. I would recommend it for a one time visit and hopefully they do something about those bugs.

Save At Peppa Pig Theme Park

The best way to buy your tickets for Peppa Pig Theme Park is online at the theme park’s website. You’ll save money booking that way rather than paying at the gate.

If you’re planning on staying in the area, the LEGOLAND Florida Hotel is your best bet. It’s, literally, a six minute walk from Peppa Pig Theme Park. So you could go back to your hotel room for lunch or just to get some shade and then go back to Peppa Pig later in the day.

If you want to do that, book your LEGOLAND Florida Hotel on Groupon for a discount. You can book either a kingdom-themed room or adventure-themed room at LEGOLAND Hotel, a beach retreat bungalow at LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, or pirate-themed room at LEGOLAND Pirate Island Hotel.

When you book one of the LEGOLAND Florida resort hotels, you get to partake in the hotel’s events, like a nightly dance party and LEGO model-building contests. You don’t, however, get park admission. That’s an additional cost. So we suggest you book discounted LEGOLAND theme park tickets on Groupon too, so if you’re staying at the hotel and want to do LEGOLAND too, that’s a great idea.
