Strawberry shortcake is such a fun summertime treat. But who really has the time? And, really, you don’t want to bake a cake in the summer either. It’s so hot and humid inside; you don’t want to make it hotter inside by turning on the oven.
You can have strawberry shortcake without baking. I actually made it the other day to bring to dinner, and it was so tasty. Plus, no one knew I didn’t exactly bake it.
No-Bake Strawberry Shortcake
What You’ll Need:
- Store-bought pound cake
- 1 pint strawberries
- Strawberry topping
- 1 tub whipped topping
What You’ll Do:
Cut the pound cake into cubes and place them in one layer into an 8×8 baking pan.
Spread three or four heavy spoonfuls of strawberry topping over the pound cake.
Reserve three strawberries. Cut the rest into slices, then spread those slices over the strawberry topping.
Cover the entire cake with the whipped topping.
Slice the three reserved strawberries in half, then place them in the center of the cake.
Chill until it’s time to serve. When it’s time, you can easily scoop this with a spoon and serve into bowls.
