When I was on a food tour last month, one of the samples was a frozen peach lemonade. Oh my gosh. It was the most refreshing drink on an insanely hot day — which we had spent walking around outside between restaurants.

We got the sample in a tiny cup, which was a bit of a bummer because I know everyone on the tour would have enjoyed a full-sized version of that great drink.

So, when I got home, I had to figure out how to make it for me and Pete to enjoy. And you guys, it’s so incredibly easy. Like so easy that this will be my go to summer drink from here on out.

All you need is a blender and a little foresight. The latter is because you need to freeze the peaches overnight so that they’re basically peach ice cubes that will break apart and make a slushy drink. So, this isn’t something you can whip up the instant you’re thirsty for it (unless, you keep peach slices in the freezer at all times).

Also, quick note: Fresh peaches work best in this recipe. If you need help picking those out, check out our Tips For Picking The Perfect Peach before you go to the grocery store.

This recipe makes exactly two cups of frozen lemonade. If you want to make more, you can absolutely double or triple the recipe. You don’t want to overfill your blender, though, so you might have to make it in batches if you’re making a large pitcher for summer picnics or parties.

Frozen Peach Lemonade Ingredients:

How To Make Frozen Peach Lemonade:

A peeled peach on a cutting board with the peeled skin behind it.

Peel the peaches.

Peach slices in a blue bowl.

Cut them into slices.

Peach slices in a bag.

Put the peach slices into a freezer safe bag or airtight container and freeze them overnight.

Peach slices in a blender.

The next day, remove the peaches from the bag and place them in a blender, reserving one peach slice for garnish.

Honey in a measuring cup being poured into a blender.

Add in the honey.

Add in the water.

A hand squeezing a lemon into a blender of peaches.

Squeeze the juice from the lemons into the blender.

Quick note: The easiest way to get the most juice out of a lemon is to microwave it for 10 seconds, then gently roll it on the counter. This will really soften the lemon flesh and make it easy to squeeze out the maximum amount of juice.

Blend until almost smooth.

Quick note: This really takes under a minute, like not even 30 seconds. You want to blend until everything is basically smooth, but leave a little peach pulp for texture. If you over blend this lemonade, it turns really watery and doesn’t stay slushy.

Frozen Peach Lemonade: Frequently Asked Questions

Do you need to add ice cubes to make frozen lemonade?

You don’t need to add any ice cubes. The frozen peach slices are all you need to create the slushy drink. Adding ice cubes would actually water this down and you’d lose a lot of the peach flavor.

Can you use frozen peaches?

If you’re making this and it’s not peach season, you can purchase a bag of frozen peaches at the grocery store.

Personally, I’ve only ever made this with fresh, in-season peaches because they’re really sweet and add such a great flavor to this peach drink. But you can use frozen fruit if that’s all you have access to.

Do you have to strain frozen lemonade before drinking it?

I’m the kind of person who prefers pulp in my orange juice and crunchy peanut butter. So, when I make my frozen lemonade, I pulse it very quickly so there is some peach pulp still in the drink. It gives it some texture and makes it more interesting.

If you don’t want any pulp, you can just pulse yours a little longer. You don’t need to pull out a fine mesh strainer to strain it.

Do you have to use fresh lemon juice?

Juicing lemons is really easy and adds to that fresh fruit flavor. But, if you don’t have any, you can use bottled lemon juice in this recipe. One lemon is about two to three tablespoons of lemon juice.

Can you use sugar instead of honey to this drink?

The trouble with using white sugar is that it doesn’t dissolve very well in cold beverages. So, if you try to use sugar, even after blending, you’re gonna end up with a pretty gritty drink, which no one wants.

You can try to make the swap, but since honey is sweeter than sugar, you’ll probably need to add more sugar to achieve the same taste (maybe 1/3 cup sugar, although that’s just a guesstimate). If you make this swap, let me know.

What’s the best way to store leftover frozen lemonade?

I actually just put the cup into the fridge if I don’t finish the frozen lemonade. I did this once and Pete finished it two days later and it was still frozen. I’m not 100% sure how long it will last that way, but at least two days.

Can you make different flavors of frozen lemonade?

This is a basic frozen peach lemonade recipe, but you can add frozen berries to make a raspberry peach lemonade, frozen strawberries to make a strawberry lemonade, frozen mangos to make a mango peach lemonade … you get the idea.

This recipe calls for two cups of frozen peaches. So if you’re going to add a second flavor, just adjust the amount so you end up with two cups of frozen fruit total.
