DIY Christmas Tree Garland (Made From Snuggle Dryer Sheets) #CraftyPaws

Snuggle sent a box of dryer sheets for this craft. All thoughts and opinions belong to Drugstore Divas. Additional items were purchased by Drugstore Divas and were not compensated.

I love dryer sheets. They are such a great way to freshen our laundry. And, honestly, one of my favorite things in the world is to lay in sheets that have been washed and dried with two dryer sheets. Honestly, there are few things in life that actually top that for me.

So when I received an email from Snuggle to see if I wanted a box of dryer sheets, of course I said yes. But then I read the email. It wasn’t for laundry. Instead, Snuggle wanted me make a craft from Snuggle dryer sheets. Not just any craft. No, it was to be a holiday craft.

Um, what?

I asked my friend for ideas and she suggested a box for cookies for the neighbors. “No,” I said. “You can’t put edibles in a dryer sheet box.” So I had to think. I thought and thought and then decided that when the box arrived it would give me some inspiration. It arrived and I still was no closer to an idea than I was when I said yes.

Luckily, I was on the phone with my mom, the craftiest person I know. I asked what she would dryer sheet craft she would make. She thought for a moment and said, “Make a garland!”

Brilliant. Thank goodness for moms, right?

What You’ll Need:

What You’ll Do:

snuggle-2

Fold a dryer sheet in half and cut it down the middle.

snuggle-3

Cut the half in half again. And again so you end up with eight strips.

snuggle-4

Unfold one strip and tie it into a ring.

snuggle-5

Unfold another strip and thread it through the ring.

snuggle-6

Tie it. Continue on and on until your chain is long enough to go around your tree. Each dryer sheet yields about sixteen inches of garland.

My cute little kitten was really, really curious about the entire chain I was making. He was grabbing at it and then just starred me down when I picked it up to put it on the tree.

It looked beautiful on my tree. Plus, it made our entire apartment smell fresh. I love the smell of clean laundry so it was amazing to have our entire apartment smelling like this.

But my nosy cat playing by the tree got me nervous. I was worried he would pull it down at night and I just wasn’t sure how healthy dryer sheets were for cats. So I took it down and moved it.

And now it’s decorating our laundry room. And having the laundry room, which is filled with dirty laundry, smell beautiful like a dryer sheet — that’s a Christmas miracle.
