If you’re looking for a fun treat or toy for your furry friend, this list of the Best Gifts For Dogs is sure to help you find a great gift.

I have a habit of buying gifts for people’s pets. If I’m going to see you for Christmas and Fido is around, Fido is getting a gift too. I’m not even giving it a second thought when I’m picking up gifts for dogs. Fido is your family member, and he’s getting his own special gift at Christmas.
But maybe, don’t invite me to your dog’s birthday party. Singing happy birthday to a pet is where I draw the line.
Maybe you have a couple friends with pets who you’re shopping for or maybe you just want ideas of what to buy for your own dogs. Either way, you’re in luck. This list of the best gifts for dogs are dog approved.

This list of Gifts For Dogs is actually gifts for dogs. Not for people who like dogs or are pet owners.
If you’re looking for dog-themed gifts for a dog parent, you’ll want to check out our list of Gifts For Dog Lovers instead. It’s filled with ideas like Winer Dogs Wine Markers, coffee mugs with a custom pet portrait on them, dog mom shirts, and more fun gifts that your dog-lover friend will be obsessed with.

The toys and treats in this post were reviewed for us by Sophie (the golden) and Six (the black dog). So, if you see references to those names, that’s who they are.

Donut Plush Dog Toy
Sophie doesn’t usually like a squeaky toy, but she loves donuts — including this strawberry Donut Plush Dog Toy. The toy is sturdy and the squeaker is the entire donut ring.
Sophie’s fave is the strawberry, but you can get this donut plush dog toy in a few other colors. The sprinkles are embroidered, so you don’t have to worry about them coming off.

JW Pet Wool-ee Balls
Usually, a dog and a tennis ball can have an afternoon of fun. With Six, he has so many of them that he breaks in half. These Wool-ee Balls don’t break like a tennis ball would, which makes them really worth the money.
The balls come in various sizes, so you can choose whichever is best for your fur baby. And they’re handmade, all-natural balls, which should give you a little peace of mind when your dog is chomping away at it.

Hemp Double Knot Rope Dog Toy
The Hemp Double Knot Rope Dog Toy is great for tug of war. It’s very strong and doesn’t come apart or shred like some other rope toys. Sophie wouldn’t let it go, even when she was tired out from playing.
You can get rope dog toys in a variety of sizes, so you definitely want to make sure you’re buying one that is the appropriate size for your pup. And, keep in mind, this is meant to be an interactive toy, not a chew toy, so be ready to play with your pup if you pick this one up.

Chuckit! Ultra Fetch Stick
If you have a dog that’s a chewer, a great way to entertain him is with the Chuckit! Ultra Fetch Toy. Six had such a great time playing with this one.
This fetch toy is soft enough for your pup to chew, plus durable enough to last through aggressive chewing. That’s really great because if you buy new toys for your dog, you really want them to last longer than a few minutes.
It’s a little heavy for smaller dogs (or for a passersby at the dog park who isn’t paying attention), so just keep that in mind.

Hedgehog Shaped Dental Chew Dog Treat
The Hedgehog Shaped Dental Chew Dog Treat is pretty cute and provided good chewing time for Sophie. The hedgehog is hollow inside and super hard. It’s a great dental chew.
You can’t really tell from the photo with Sophie that she’s chomping down on a hedgehog. If you click the link, though, you can see the hedgehog in all its glory. The vegetable-based chew toy is not shaped that way just for aesthetics, but rather, for function. The “spikes” on the hedgehog’s back reach the areas that are usually difficult to clean.

Chuckit! Rugged Flyer Dog Toy
If your dog loves frisbees, this Chuckit! Rugged Flyer Dog Toy is the ideal gift.
Most frisbees don’t last very well with dogs because their teeth puncture the frisbee and it starts looking like Swiss cheese after a while. Not this toy. It has specific ridges that hold up to chewing, which makes the toy last longer. It’s lightweight, so it might not fly as far as a frisbee, but it doesn’t go pretty far. So you’re still playing a good game of fetch with your furry friend.

Sniffany & Co Gift Box Plush Toy
Every girl needs that little blue box in her life — even if it’s Sniffany, not Tiffany.
Sophie liked this Sniffany & Co Gift Box Plush Toy so much she used it as a pillow. There is a squeaker, but it is kind of hard to find. The squeaker is very small compared to the toy, which, for dog owners who don’t love squeakers, is a good thing.

Chuckit! Kick Fetch Ball
If you want to play a game of fetch, without you having to use your arms, this Chuckit! Kick Fetch Ball is perfect. You can kick it, your dog fetches it and leaves it at your feet. You kick it again. Over and over until play time is over for the night.
The version Six got to play with glows in the dark, which adds some extra fun to the original version of this (which doesn’t glow). This is new for Six, but the reviews on Amazon say that this lasts for years, even outside in the elements, and even against aggressive chewers, so that’s great.

Stella & Chewy’s Raw Coated Biscuit Dog Treats
Stella & Chewy’s Raw Coasted Biscuit Dog Treats have a good crunch and are very fragrant. They’re the perfect little treat when you want to give something to your dog.
There are four different variants to choose from: lamb, beef, chicken, and duck. Sophie tried the beef recipe, in case you were wondering. All the treats are grain-free, and the lamb and beef treats are poultry-free, so dogs with allergies can them enjoy too.

Squishmallow Dog Bed
I always remember my friend Beth (whose dog is featured all over this post) having the coziest dog bed for her dog. The dog loved it.
So, if you want to pamper your pooch in the same way, pick up this super cute Squishmallow Dog Bed. It’s so cute to look at too, so you won’t mind it in the corner of your living room or bedroom.

Collapsible Dog Bowl
If you’ve read any our post about taking a road trip with dogs, you know we always suggest bringing a collapsible dog bowl with you. So, while you’re picking out a dog gift this year, you might want to pick out something that’s actually useful … for you.
Your dog won’t know the difference. Your dog will just be happy to see that collapsible dog bowl coming out of your purse when you’re on a walk. Just pour some water from your water bottle into the dish and let your dog have a drink. We see people bringing these to dog-friendly bars and restaurants too, which is really smart.
