If you want a Christmas cookie that will stand out, this Oreo Snow Globe Cookies recipe is for you. It’s a no bake recipe, but does take a while because of the decorating and cooling.
For more ways to make this the best holiday, check out all of our Christmas posts.

My cousin and I spend a lot of time sending Instagram reels of things we want to make, back and forth to each other because that really is the modern way of keeping in touch.
Fun fact: It’s called pebbling and is actually a social media term people use.
One of the videos my cousin sent me was of Oreo Snow Globe Cookies, which is very funny because it’s one I saved (but never sent her) last year.
If you’ve been around Drugstore Divas a bit, you know I have a friend in our community who loves chocolate dipped Oreo cookies, so I’m always on the hunt for new Oreo cookie ideas. So I had saved the idea to make my own version of them.
My cousin beat me to it.
Find out how to make your own version of them here.

Oreo Snow Globe Cookies Ingredients:
You can get the full list of ingredients with measurements in the recipe card below.
- Oreo cookies – Double stuffed Oreo cookies sit on the chocolate base better than an Oreo thin would. Also, we’re saying Oreo in the generic sense. You can use any double stuffed, round sandwich cookie.
- Almond bark – Vanilla almond bark is so much easier to work with than white chocolate chips. If the bark hardens while you’re working with it, you can just remelt it. You can’t do that with chocolate chips because they’ll burn.
- Blue gel food coloring – You need to use gel food coloring, which is a non-water based food coloring. Using the cheaper food coloring may cause the almond bark to cease.
- Miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – The detail of the chocolates are better than using Rolo candies (but you can use Rolos if you need to omit peanuts).
- Edible glitter – This is optional, but it makes the base look stunning.
- Pure vanilla – This is to adhere the edible glitter to the chocolate.
- Decorations – We used sanding sugar and royal icing decorations. You can choose whatever you like.
How To Make Oreo Snow Globe Cookies:

Melt the vanilla almond bark according to the package.
Quick note: If you haven’t done this, the easiest way to do this is to put it in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until the almond bark is completely melted.
Add in the blue food coloring. Stir until it’s completely incorporated.
Quick note: You could use blue candy melts instead of dying the vanilla almond bark except, personally, I don’t like the taste of candy melts. I use them as accent colors, but when I’m dipping something (Oreo cookies, pretzels, etc.), I always use almond bark.

Drop your Oreo cookie into the melted chocolate.
Flip the Oreo and make sure to fully cover your Oreo on both sides.
To ensure you get all the excess chocolate off, pick it up with a fork and gently tap the fork on the side of your bowl to knock off any extra chocolate.

Put the Oreo on a silicone baking mat-lined baking sheet.
If you don’t have a silicone baking mat, you can use parchment paper. I just prefer the baking mat because it’s reusable, so it’s more frugal.
Either way, you need to put something down between your cookies and the baking sheet because the melted chocolate will stick and you won’t be able to get these off if you don’t.
Immediately sprinkle the sanding sugar “snow” onto your cookie.
If you can’t find sanding sugar, white nonpareil sprinkles will work also.
Continue until you’re done with all of the cookies. Let the melted chocolate cool completely.
Quick note: This will take about an hour, give or take depending on the temperature in your home, if you leave them on the counter. You can put them in the fridge to speed up the process, but you run the risk of the chocolate discoloring, so I don’t do that.

Melt more of the vanilla almond bark.
Once the chocolate is hardened, dip the snow globe Oreo into the chocolate to create the snow base.

Place the cookie back onto the silicone baking mat-lined cookie sheet.
Sprinkle sanding sugar “snow” onto the white chocolate.
Continue until you’re done with all of the cookies.

Then, dab a little white chocolate “glue” onto the back of a royal icing decoration and affix it to the cookie.
When you’re buying royal icing decorations for this, keep the designs in mind. Trees are usually found in snow globes. Santa and his sleigh or reindeer are too.
Of course, you’re not making real snow globes, but it helps with the illusion.
Let the chocolate harden.

Pour the edible glitter dust into a bowl.
Add a couple of drops of vanilla into the glitter and stir until combined.
Quick note: Make sure you only use pure vanilla extract. This will not work with imitation vanilla.

Unwrap the mini Reese’s peanut butter cup. Using a food-safe paint brush, brush the edible glitter onto a mini Reese’s cup.
You only need to paint the outside and the top (the shorter side). Don’t worry about painting the bottom.

Place a dab of melted white chocolate (or you could use royal icing, if you’re tired of melting chocolate) on top of Reese’s cup.

Place Oreo on top, making sure that the royal icing decorations are facing the right way.
Quick note: If your Oreo isn’t holds straight to the base, you can cut a small flat surface at the bottom of the cookie with a knife. That may help it rest.
Let the slow globe cookies cool completely before serving.
If you wanted, you could add a spritz of silver edible luster dust spray to give the entire cookie some extra shine.

Oreo Snow Globe Cookies: Frequently Asked Questions
You can absolutely make these ahead of time. Dipped Oreo cookies last anywhere from two to four weeks in an airtight container.
The only thing about these is I worry about storing them because you need to store them propped up, so you assure the cookie doesn’t fall off the base.
