Hotel Waffle Maker Hack

A few weekends ago, we were staying at a hotel with a free continental breakfast. As you know, that’s one of my favorite perks of a hotel. So, the other morning, I was in the hotel’s dining area, enjoying a waffle when I overheard a hotel waffle maker hack.

I looked down at my waffle, pretty disappointed.

Why oh why hadn’t I heard this five minutes sooner.

I didn’t want you to have the same reaction the next time you were in a hotel’s dining area.

So, the problem we’re solving is that when you try to put butter on the waffle, it doesn’t really melt. The waffle just doesn’t get that hot. And the butter has been sitting on ice since they put breakfast out that morning.

This solves that.

When you go to the hotel, there’s a contraption filled with waffle batter. You pour that into a cup and then pour that into the waffle maker.

Not anymore.

Instead, what you want to do is pour the batter into a cup, then drop a few “slices” of butter into the cup. (Yes, they’re called slices.), then pour it into the waffle maker.

As the waffle cooks, the butter will heat up and get all in your waffle. So when you take it out of the waffle maker, it’s already buttered. All you have to do is pour some syrup over it.
