DIY Individual Football-Shaped Utensil Holders

We are football people. Neither of us had a dog in the race this year, but we still hosted Football Sunday in our garage every week. We make food and broadcast the game on a wall in our garage via a projector. You can see the entire game from down the block, and it’s sort of a beacon to our neighbors. So of course, I try to be a little creative for our football parties, making things like these DIY Football-Shaped Utensil Holders.

They do take a little foresight because you’re using toilet paper rolls to make them. So in case you don’t save them all the time for craft projects, you’ll want to start saving them.

If you’re like me and you keep them, you probably have everything for these already. I did, so that make them super simple.

DIY Individual Football-Shaped Utensil Holders

What You’ll Need:

• Toilet paper rolls
• Green napkins
• White plastic utensils
• Brown paint
• White paint
• Large paint brush
• Small paint brush
• Brown colored pencil
• Scissors

What You’ll Do:

Fold the toilet paper roll in half and make a stiff crease.

Start in the center of the open end of the toilet paper roll. Use the colored pencil to draw a curve from there to about 1/3 of the way down the closed side of the toilet paper roll. Cut it out.

Use the cut out piece as a stencil to draw the rest of the football. Cut out the other three pieces.

Use the large paint brush to paint the football brown. Let it dry completely and then paint a second layer. Let that dry completely.

Use the small paint brush to paint the laces in white. Let that dry completely.

Roll a green napkin and stuff it, seam side down, into the toilet paper roll. Fill the center with the plastic utensils.

Set one of your football-shaped utensil holders out at each place setting.
