Halloween DIY: Easy Halloween Wall Decoration

wall1This is the third and final installment in our Oriental Trading Halloween craft reviews. I saved the most fun one for last.

See, when I was little, I used to color all the time. What my mom would do was color all different colors on a sheet of paper, then cover it all in a black crayon. I would get a toothpick and draw, scratching off the black abd revealing the color underneath.

It was the best.

So when I was on Oriental Trading’s website and I saw the Magic Color Scratch Halloween Shapes, I was so excited.

They come in a pack of 24, with cutouts of a bat, ghost, cat, and pumpkin. There are also a handful of sharp styluses to scratch (so not suitable for little kids) and string to hang the ornaments when they’re done.

Creation is simple.

Sit down, scratch, done.

You can make them as simple or as intricate as you’d like, all based on your creativity.

What I really liked is the black is already there and the color is already printed. You don’t have to worry about using a ton of black crayons for this. You could make your own and then cut them into shapes, but at $4.49 for a pack of 24, you might as well just buy them.

There is a slight bit of clean up because when you scratch the black, it doesn’t disappear. But it’s nothing a quick wipe of the table can’t remove.

Once you attach the colored string, you can hang them anywhere in your house. I hung them on the walls because we were in need of wall decorations this year.
