It’s New York Fashion Week, which means there are a ton of outfits and hairstyles coming down the runway. I’ve been looking at social media to get ideas of what is going to be on trend, and I’ve been really getting inspired. Couple that with the fact that a friend gave me a flower crown recently, and I decided to put my super-long hair into a bohemian braid.
The style itself is meant to look like you slept in your braid and sort of just woke up like this. Since Hurricane Irma and it’s crazy winds have been around here the last two days, that definitely added to the hairdo’s goal. Just walking outside caused my hair to blow and gave me the flyaways this style called for.
Want to learn how to put it together? Follow the steps below, from TRESemme.
Bohemian Braid Tutorial
Start by washing hair with TRESemmé Repair & Protect shampoo and conditioner to protect against breakage.
Create a center part and apply TRESemmé Extra Firm Control Mousse all over from root to tip, and work product throughout hair using your fingers.
Take sections of hair into your hands and fold them up, 3 inches at a time until it hits your scalp. Blow dry each section using hot air to lock in the style, then cold air to seal it.
Define the textured waves by using a flatiron to create an “S” shape with various pieces of hair throughout the head.
Spray roots with TRESemmé Fresh Start Basic Care Dry Shampoo for a matte, lived-in finish.
Separate the front piece of hair on each side of the part and gather the remaining section to create a loose braid leaving the front pieces out for a slept-in look. Secure the braid with bobby pins leaving out 1-3 inches at the end for effortlessness.
Complete the look by spraying TRESemmé TRES Two Firm Control Hairspray all over to keep hair in place.
So easy, right? Put your hair in this style, then head out to your favorite music festival.
I went through these steps, including washing my hair with the recommended shampoo and conditioner. I wasn’t expecting anything special, to be honest. My hair is incredibly long right now and isn’t generally affected by most shampoos at this length. When it’s shorter, I see a difference based on what products I use. But at this length, it kind of does its own thing.
Not with the TRESemmé Repair & Protect shampoo and conditioner. I actually could feel my hair getting softer, absorbing whatever it could from the shampoo. It had more volume than usual and wasn’t stringy. I’ve used other TRESemme products with my hair at this length and it didn’t have this affect, so I just found my new favorite.
If you want to try out these products and this style, head over to CVS to pick up TRESemme products. Even better, there are two upcoming deals on TRESemme.
