The hack is this: Cut the Hawaiian roll in half, make one giant sandwich, then cut along the perforations to make 12 sandwiches. These look just like sandwiches that you purchased from your local grocery stores, just for much cheaper.

When we’re having a party, these are the perfect addition to the menu. We make a few different versions of these, then set them out on a platter so guests can grab whatever they want. If you’re not having a party, these roast beef and cheddar cheese sliders are such an easy dinner recipe too. How To Make Roast Beef And Cheddar Hawaiian Roll Sliders:

This Turkey Club Hawaiian Roll Sliders hack easily makes 12 sandwiches in the time it takes to make one! It works for other sandwiches too!

Use a large bread or serrated knife cut the Hawaiian rolls in half longways. Set the top of the rolls aside.

Quick note: When you’re cutting the bread in half, you really want to pay attention to how you’re cutting. If your knife gets wobbly and you start cutting on an angle, rather than straight across, your bread will be uneven. And that will throw off the ratio of your sandwiches.

So, what I do is start at one corner and gently ease in to the side of the bread, then cut through.

A knife spreading mayonnaise on bread.

Spread half of the mayonnaise along the bottom half of the rolls.

Deli roast beef spread on bread.

Add two layers of roast beef slices (or as many as your pack of roast beef will allow).

Slices of cheese spread on bread.

Add seven slices of cheese on top of the roast beef slices.

Romaine lettuce cut into strips.

Slice the romaine lettuce pieces into small strips.

Lettuce slices and cheese spread on bread.

Spread the lettuce evenly across the sandwich.

Tomato and lettuce slices and cheese spread on bread.

Thinly slice the Roma tomatoes and spread them evenly across the sandwich.

Mayonnaise spread across a Hawaiian roll slicer half.

Add the rest of the mayonnaise to the top of the Hawaiian rolls.

Roast beef and cheddar Hawaiian roll sliders.

Place the top of the rolls on the sandwich.

If you’re feeling fancy now, you can brush a little melted butter on top and add some sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning to make these look like burger buns. We don’t do that for these, but we do for our Cheeseburger Sliders.

Roast Beef And Cheddar Hawaiian Roll Sliders: Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have to use mayonnaise?

Mayonnaise is the most common condiment for these sandwiches, however, it’s not the only one that works. You could add a creamy horseradish sauce or horseradish mayo instead. If you prefer mustard, you could add a stone ground or Dijon mustard to this instead.

Can you use a different type of cheese?

These are roast beef and cheddar cheese sandwiches, so we use cheddar cheese. If you use anything else, well, you wouldn’t be making this recipe. But, you can absolutely make it your own. If you want a more mild cheese, you can use a Swiss cheese. Or you can do a combination of Swiss and provolone cheese.

Make these however you and your family will enjoy them most.

Can you make these ahead of time?

If you want to, you can absolutely make these ahead of time. Just make them as is, then stick them in the fridge until you’re ready to serve them.

This slider recipe is actually really convenient if you’re looking for something for a picnic or a tailgate. You can make the slicers, cut them, then put them back into the slider buns bag. Tie the bag and pack it on ice in your cooler to keep the sandwiches cold until you’re ready for them.

Do you have to use deli meat?

These roast beef sandwiches are so simple because of the deli meat. It’s already cut into thin slices for you so all you have to do is add it to your sandwiches.

But, if you have leftover roast beef, you can use that as well. My dad has a meat slicer, so we’re easily able to slice a full roast into sandwich slices. If you don’t have that, you can actually shred the roast beef and use it that way.

Can you makes these as oven-baked sliders?

I prefer to serve these as a cold sandwich. However, if you want, you can build the sandwich in a baking dish or baking sheet and bake them for 15 minutes at 350 F until you get a melty cheese and the top of the rolls are a golden brown. When the sandwich is cool enough to touch, cut it into 12 equal pieces.

If you do bake them, I suggest adding a sheet of aluminum foil across the top of the pan so that the tops of the rolls don’t crisp and get really dry before the cheese is melted.

How do you store leftover roast beef and cheddar sliders?

Store any leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge. The sandwiches will last about four days that way.
