Halloween Pretzel Spider Webs Ingredients:

How To Make Halloween Pretzel Spider Webs:

One whole and three halved pretzel sticks.

Keep 24 of the thin pretzel sticks whole. Cut the remaining 48 in half. You’ll need four total pretzel sticks (one whole and three cut in half) per Halloween pretzel spider web.

Pretzels on a baking mat.

Arrange the pretzels on a silicone baking mat on a baking pan. Set the full pretzel in the middle, then three pieces equidistant above the pretzel and three equidistant below.

You should be able to fit 12 pretzel webs per baking sheet.

White almond bark melted in a bowl.

Melt one of the squares of vanilla almond bark according to the package.

The easiest way to do this is to microwave for one minute, stir, then microwave and stir at 30 second intervals until the almond bark is melted completely.

Pour the melted almond bark in a ziptop plastic bag. Slightly cut the corner of the bag.

Eight pretzels with a white almond bark circle in the middle of them.

Use the ziptop bag to pipe an almond bark circle in the center of the pretzel sticks. Make sure to cover each section where the pretzel pieces touch the center stick. The real goal of this circle is to stick the pretzels together.

Continue until you’ve finished all 12 of the pretzel clusters.

Put a dab of black decorating gel in the center of the white circle, while it’s still warm.

Black dot of decorating gel, made to look like a spider, in the middle of a white almond bark circle that's in the middle of eight pretzels.

Use a toothpick to drag the black decorating gel out eight times to make a spider in the center of the circle.

The white almond bark circle will cool quickly, and you need to drag the black decorating gel while the white circle is warm in order to make the legs.

Pretzel spider web.

Melt a second square of almond bark along with any almond bark that remains in the zip top bag.

Pour the melted almond bark back into the ziptop bag.

Draw a circle around the outer edge of the pretzels.

Then, draw a second circle between the center circle and the outer circle.

You have two ways to do this. You can either do it simply and make a curved circle shape. Alternatively, you can do semi-circles that concave in between the pretzels to give more of a web shape. Either way, the pretzel spider webs will look great.

Repeat until you have finished six of the pretzel webs.

Pretzel spider web with sprinkles.

Sprinkle the Halloween sprinkles along the outside almond bark circle.

If you wait until you’ve piped the spider webs on all 12 pretzel clusters, the first one will dry before you’re able to add any sprinkles and the sprinkles won’t stick. So, it’s best to do this in batches of six.

Make the other six Halloween pretzels.

Stick the entire tray into the fridge for about 20 minutes until the chocolate has completely hardened. Move the Halloween pretzel spider webs into an airtight container.

Repeat the entire process to make 12 more Halloween pretzel spider webs.

Halloween Pretzel Spider Webs: Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use candy melts to make Halloween Pretzel Spider Webs?

Candy melts are super easy to work with, which is why people tend to use them in things like this. They cool slowly, giving you plenty of time to use them. And they reheat easily too.

But, they don’t taste great.

Instead, go with vanilla almond bark. It’s as easy to use as candy melts and it tastes a heck of a lot better.

If all you have at home are white candy melts and you want to use those, they’ll work. Be sure to check out our Tips For Using Candy Melts to get started.

Can I use pretzel rods to make these?

Thin pretzel sticks work perfectly in these Halloween pretzel spider webs. They’re thin and the almond bark is thin, so the texture works perfectly.

If you really wanted to, you could use pretzel rods, but those are pretty thick and wouldn’t really work very well.

How do you store Halloween Pretzel Spider Webs?

Once the pretzel webs have cooled, you can stack the spider webs on top of each other and store them in an airtight in the container in the fridge.

They should last about two weeks in the fridge, as long as they remain in the container.

Halloween Pretzel Spider Webs Variations

If you are making a bunch of these and you want to change them up, there are a few ways you can do that.

Giant Halloween Pretzel Spider Webs

Instead of cutting three of the four pretzels in half, leave them all hole. Use eight pretzels per pretzel spider web to make a giant web, then follow the rest of the instructions as is.

Candy Spiders

Instead of making a spider out of black decorating gel, you can purchase a pack of gummy spider candies or use spider hard candies instead. Stick those in your center circle for a pop of color and variety.

Different Sprinkles

We used the long sprinkles in Halloween colors to make these. You don’t have to use the exact same sprinkles as us. You could go with one of the fun Halloween sprinkle mixes below.

Or, just skip the sprinkles completely.
