Father’s Day comes at a funny time for football fans. It’s during the offseason, around the time when teams have mini camps but not actual practices. It’s after the draft and before the preseason, so there aren’t that many football-branded items to buy in store.

So, if your dad is a football fan, there’s a very good chance that you’ll have to order his gift online. Which means you don’t have that much time to think about it because you have to order it in time to get to you for Father’s Day.

But don’t worry. I already did all the thinking for you. I put together this great list of football gifts for dad, no matter what kind of fan he is. There’s gifts for him if he’s a season ticket holder and watches the game at the stadium on Sunday, gifts for if he watches from home, and a few smaller ideas in case you’re on a budget.

So, no matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find it here.

Is dad more of a baseball fan? Father’s Day falls during baseball season, so we have a great list of baseball gifts for dad that he’ll love.

If he likes both sports, you can actually mix and match, which is what I usually do for my dad.

Tailgating & Game Day Essentials

These are the perfect gifts for dad if he’s watching the game at the stadium.

A man's hand holding a green insulated cooler with the New York Jets logo on it.

NFL Insulated Cooler

My dad comes over to watch football games in our garage with us and he always packs my mom’s Vera Wang insulated cooler with some drinks. That’s fine, but it’s probably not his favorite choice.

If your dad only has your mom’s cooler with flowers to pack for game day, get him an insulated cooler with his favorite team’s logo on it. He’ll like it a lot better. And don’t worry. We won’t tell mom why you bought it for him.

A Tervis tumbler with New York Giants imagery on it.

Insulated Travel Tumbler With NFL Logo

If dad’s tailgating, he’s gonna need to stay hydrated with something to cool him down during the hot summer games and something hot to warm him up during the winter games.

So, an insulated tumbler with his favorite team’s logo on it is perfect. It’ll keep his cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot. That’s exactly what he needs on gameday.

A cutting board with the New York Jets logo on it.

Team Cutting Board

My favorite part of a tailgate is all the food.

The perfect addition to a tailgate is a team cutting board. It’s the perfect way to either prepare or serve your food while still getting everyone hyped for the game.

It’s also really great for homegates too, which is how we usually use ours.

A spatula with a New York Giants logo on the blade and a bottle opener on the other end on top of grill grates.

Team Logo Spatula

If dad is going to be manning the grill at the tailgate, there’s a very good chance he’ll be flipping burgers. And if there’s a better way to do that than with a team logo spatula, I don’t know it.

My grandma actually bought Pete one over a decade ago and we’ve used it at every cookout since.

It has a spatula head with the Giants logo on one side and a bottle opener (also very important at a tailgate) on the other, so dad will definitely be game day ready.

A stadium seat cover in its package on a shelf in a store.

Stadium Seat Cushion

Let’s be honest. Dad is getting older. And so his body doesn’t quite bounce back as fast as it used to. So, a stadium seat cushion is a great gift idea.

I know. When you’re buying it and giving it to dad, he might not be that thrilled. I mean, it’s a cushion. But when he brings it to his first game, that’s when he’ll really understand what a great gift it is.

Fun & Novelty Football Gifts

Add a little whimsy to dad’s Football Sunday with these gifts.

A football-shaped serving tray with tortilla chips in the middle and salsa on both sides.

Football-Shaped Serving Tray

Snack stadiums are very popular on social media. But there’s a very good chance your dad hasn’t seen them because he’s not scrolling Instagram all day.

But, he’ll probably have his friends over to watch the game on Sunday, and there’s a good chance he’ll open a bag of potato chips for them.

He’ll love having a football-shaped serving tray for them – – even if he doesn’t say that. I know my dad would love it.

A doormat with the New York Giants logo on the left and New York Jets on the right with the words "A House Divided" under it in front of a door.

Football Team Doormat

Pete and I live in a house divided. He roots for the Giants and I root for the Jets. And our doormat reflects that.

If your dad lives in a divided house — or a unified one — a football team doormat is the perfect gift. It’s a great way to let guests know exactly what they’re walking into too.

A Buffalo Bills yard sign in the front yard of a home.

Football Team Yard Sign

If your dad pledges his allegiance to a certain team, there’s a chance he wants everyone to know. And a great way to do that is with a yard sign. That way, anyone who drives by knows who he roots for.

Or, in my case, walks by. Because every night, I walk past my neighbor’s Buffalo Bills outdoor sign, reminded that the Bills are actually the only New York team.

A framed ticket that says "Admit One Eagles Lifetime Membership" on it.

Man Cave Decor

If dad has a man cave, he probably has shelves filled with photos of him and his friends at the stadium, a football helmet in a display case (because every man cave seems to have one), some pennants, and other team gear.

But, I bet he has some empty space on those shelves for some more.

So, take a peek around dad’s man cave and see what he’s missing. Maybe a team gnome, maybe a some wooden decor, maybe an autograph from his favorite player.

Apparel & Wearable Gifts

Fill dad’s closet with team gear with these gifts.

A man, whose face you can't see, wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey with the number 83 on it.

NFL Team Jersey

If you really want to feel like part of the team, a team jersey is a great uniform to wear on football Sundays.

What’s great is most official jerseys come in three tiers, which are three distinct price levels. So, no matter what your budget is, you can find a jersey to fit that.

Yes. I mean any budget. Earlier this year, Fanatics had a clearance sale and I was able to get my dad an Aaron Rodgers jersey on clearance for $4.99. That included shipping.

Sure, Aaron Rodgers was quite possibly the worst thing that happened to the Jets and recent years, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a $175 jersey for $5.

A group of Green Bay Packers fans sitting inside the Draft Kings bar in Nashville.

Team T-shirt

Whenever we go out to watch football, Pete makes sure to wear his team gear, especially when we’re out of town.

When we were in Nashville, we went to a sports bar and, because Pete was wearing his New York Giants T-shirt, we immediately found two other Giants fans. We were able to watch the game with them and it was a lot more fun.

So, even if dad has one, buy him another team shirt. That way he doesn’t have to wear the same shirt for 16 weeks (or more if dad actually roots for a good team that makes the playoffs).

A gray sweatshirt with a cartoon chicken playing a guitar on it with a Tennessee Titans logo.

NFL Hoodie

Buying an NFL sweatshirt for dad for Father’s Day seems a little bit funny. He’s not wearing a sweatshirt in June.

But, most of the football season happens when it’s cold out. Going to games in the winter requires lots of layers and hand warmers. So, when the postseason rolls around this winter and he has a sweatshirt to wear for the team’s playoff run, your gift will be perfect.

A Miami Dolphins baseball hat.

Team Hat Or Beanie

If dad goes to football games, there are two types of hats he needs: a baseball cap to keep the sun off his face during summer games and a beanie to keep his head warm during winter games. If he already has one, buy him the other.

And, if he’s anything like my dad, even if he has one you could always buy him a back up.

My dad lives in Florida and goes for a walk every day. He wears a hat to make sure his face is protected from the sun. But, with that hard sun beating down on his hat on a regular basis, his hats get pretty faded and he needs to replace them quite often. So, another hat is always a welcome gift.

A blue pair of sneakers with the New York Giants logo on them.

Football Team Sneakers

A few years ago, I was trying to find a unique gift for Pete and I found New York Giants sneakers. He prefers high tops, but I could only find them in low tops. It didn’t matter. Having a pair of sneakers with his favorite team’s logo on it brought him so much excitement. He wears them every Football Sunday and gets so many compliments on them.

So, if you know dad‘s shoe size, get him these. He’ll like them so much better than another pair of those classic Dad New Balance sneakers.

Experience & Game Day Viewing Gifts

A great gift is a chance to watch the game.

NFL Game Tickets

Years ago, I’m talking like two decades ago, my brothers and I, along with my cousin and her sister, bought our dads tickets to go see the New York Jets together.

They had a really great time at the game, even though, as is par for the course, the Jets lost.

The good thing is if your team is terrible, resale tickets are very inexpensive. I remember seeing Carolina Panthers tickets for $8 on StubHub a couple seasons ago. We were busy that Sunday, but it would’ve been a fun experience.

A football game on a small TV outside.

NFL Sunday Ticket / Streaming Subscription

Most people move away from where they grew up. It’s just a part of life.

My family grew up in New York, and now my parents and one of my brothers live in Florida and we live in North Carolina. We all still root for the New York Jets, but, watching the Jets games at home is difficult. We only get the game if the Jets play the Carolina Panthers — which they do, but only in the preseason.

So, if dad is a really big football fan, and he lives out of market, a great gift is a subscription to the NFL Sunday Ticket. That way, he can watch football no matter where he is.

And he will. My parents were on a road trip in their RV, and my dad set up a television outside of their camper so that he didn’t miss any of the games.

Budget-Friendly Football Gifts (Under $25)

If you’re on a budget, this is the section you want to shop.

Two pairs of football-themed socks hanging on pegs in a store.

Football-Themed Socks

My brother once said, “White socks are wasted opportunity” and ever since then. I really tried to buy everyone fun socks as gifts.

So, of course, football socks had to make the list. You can buy ones with a team logo on them or just a generic football pair. But, either way, if dad wears them and his team wins, these will become his lucky pair that he wears every Sunday.

Two football themed kitchen towels hanging on pegs in a store.

Football-Themed Kitchen Towels

I love changing our kitchen towels with every season and holiday. But, I’m a lady. It may seem a little funny to buy a man kitchen towels as a gift. But, if dad tailgates, football-themed kitchen towels are perfect.

Dad’s going to pack towels to clean up after his pregame anyway, so he might as well pack ones with footballs on them.

A stress ball, shaped as a football, in a box on a table.

Stress Relief Football

Football is stressful. So having a stress ball is helpful.

If you’re looking for a fun gag gift for dad, a stress relief football is perfect. My friend got this for my dad for Christmas one year, and we thought it was so much fun. Your dad will too.

Just cross your fingers that he doesn’t throw it at the TV when the refs make a bad call.
