Cooking can be really fun. When you have the time, you can experiment with different methods of cooking. Like pouch cooking. It’s a really interesting way to keep all the juices and flavors in your dinner. We use this technique to make salsa pouch chicken.
It’s so easy and so delicious. Please, don’t feel intimidated if you’ve never done it before. If you can fold your t-shirts to fit them in a drawer, you can fold the parchment paper into a pouch.
Side note about the salsa. Any version of salsa will work in this. Play around with different ones to get different flavors.
Salsa Pouch Chicken Recipe

Salsa Pouch Chicken Ingredients:
- 1 chicken breast
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 4 tablespoons red pepper mango salsa or fresh peach salsa
How To Make Salsa Pouch Chicken:
Pre-heat the oven to 350 F.
Fillet the chicken breast in half.
Season it with the garlic salt and lemon pepper.
Place the chicken breast half on top of a piece of parchment paper. Top with two tablespoons of salsa.
Fold over the sides of the parchment paper. Then, grab the bottom of the parchment paper and roll up to the top.
Fold the excess parchment paper from the sides into the center.
Repeat with the other half of the chicken breast.
Put the pouches on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
Let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Do not open the pouch immediately.
When you do open, you will see all the good juice at the bottom and your chicken will be incredibly moist, and infused with that liquid.
Serve your salsa chicken with rice. We made the rice, put the chicken on top, and poured all the juice from the pouch on top too.

It looks delicious, and this is coming from a vegetarian (a bad vegetarian that's known to sneak eating meat every now and then). Moist chicken. Yummy mango salsa. Rice. All together in parchment paper. Yum.
