We usually have a big neighborhood party for the big game. Everyone walks over, has food, enjoys some adult beverages, and then walks down the block to their houses.
It’s a really safe way to enjoy the game and our friends on the cul de sac.
And of course, I love dressing up our food, like with these Homemade Football Flags Party Picks.

Homemade Football Flags Party Picks Supplies:
- Printable football flags (see later in the post for those)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Toothpicks
- Tape (optional)
How To Make Homemade Football Flags Party Picks:

Print out the printables.
Cut them out.
Fold the flags in half.

Stick the toothpick on one half, a little closer than halfway to the middle.
If you want, you can use a tiny piece of tape to hold down the toothpick.

Put a few dots of glue on one side of the flag. Push down the other side to stick them together and let the flag dry completely.

Put one flag in each piece, set them up on a tray, and serve warm.
Printable Football Flags:
I made two sets of printable football flags.
The first set is flags that look like a football field. There are five in that set with a 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 yard line marker.
The second set has six flags: three are designed to look like a referee’s uniform and three are designed to look like a football.
Both of those are formatted to fit a piece of 8.5- x 11-inch printer paper, so you can easily print these at home. They’ll come out great if you use a piece of white card stock, but you can print them on a sheet of regular printer paper as well.
Both of the files are linked below:
To print them, you can either click on the words and the PDF will open in a new tab in your browser. You can access the print dialog box right from there and print them immediately.
If you click the “download” button, the file will automatically download to your computer. Save it there and you can print it whenever you are ready to make these flags.
A full set of flags (one of each page) makes 11 flags, which is enough for one package of Sausage Slammers (if you’re like us and you don’t put flags in the end pieces). If you’re making multiple packages, you’ll want to print multiple sets of flags.
Purchase football toothpicks online:
