Pete has played guitar for as long as I’ve known him. I’ve owned a guitar for as long as I’ve known him. When we first started dating, I asked if he would teach me how to play. We’re over a decade into this, and I still can’t play. But I still love music, and so does he, and so do a few people on your holiday shopping list, I’m sure. So we put together this list of 10+ Gifts For Music Lovers.

I skipped any sort of musical instrument or sheet music for this post. Those items are cool, but they appeal more to musicians than just music lovers.

A sponge that's in the shape of a cassette table with a green label that says Greasy Boys.

Cassette Tape Sponges

One of my favorite gifts are these Cassette Tape Sponges. I found them a few years ago and my brother ended up getting them for Pete for Christmas and he loved them.

So, if you are shopping for a music fan — especially one who loves nostalgia — this is the perfect gift.

A guitar shaped cutting board on display in a store.

Guitar-Shaped Cutting Board

This Guitar-Shaped Cutting Board is so cool. You can purchase a bunch of different guitar shapes, depending on what your friend likes. This one is a Gibson body, but there are Fender bodies, and just generic guitars.

Personally I prefer the ones without handles because they’re a little easier to store, but you do have that option if you like that better.

Musical Necktie.

Musical Necktie

The Musical Necktie in our photo featured music notes and a treble clef all over it, but there are so many options. You can get ones with cassette tapes, instruments, and more.

These ties are such a fun way for your friend to show his personality while still being dressed up.

Band T-Shirt

If your friend is in a band, he probably has some music-related t-shirts he wears during shows. Maybe he wears band t-shirts.

So go ahead and order him a new shirt with his favorite band on it or a funny music pun. It’ll be a big hit (ah, you see what I did there?).

Guitar Tie Clip.

Guitar Tie Clip

Pete didn’t have a tie clip and I was looking for a cool one for him for a couple years. If you know Pete, you know he’s not someone who would go with a plain, straight tie rod. He needs one with a little more flare.

So I was so excited when I found the Guitar Tie Clip. It’s perfect for Pete. And for the guitar playing man in your life.

A red travel mug in front of a small speaker.

Bluetooth Tumbler

We have a lot of tumblers and travel bottles. So the last thing we need is one more drinking vessel.

Except we need this Bluetooth Tumbler. Because we don’t have a drinking vessel that also plays music. The music plays out of the bottom and is actually pretty clear considering it’s on the bottom of a tumbler. The Bluetooth speaker twists off too. If you remove it, you’ll get a LED light show while your music plays.

You can get this in either teal, gray, or red, so you’ll be able to please any music lover on your list.

A table shaped like a cassette tape in a room.

Cassette Tape Table

There’s a local bar by us that has this Cassette Tape Table inside and man, if I could afford it, I would buy it for Pete because it’s amazing. The attention to detail is incredible.

It is out of my budget, but if it’s in yours, your music loving friend will be obsessed.

Three guitar maintenance kits on a shelf.

Guitar Maintenance Kit

If something is really wrong with your friend’s guitar, they’ll need to take it into a shop. But, there are a few things that can be done at home, like cleaning, changing strings, and minor maintenance.

It’s so much easier with a Guitar Maintenance Kit, which is filled with tools that are made for guitar repair, as opposed to trying to use home tools that are too large or not precise enough for an expensive musical instrument.

Clear Backpack.

Clear Backpack

Festivals and concerts are starting to come back, and I couldn’t be more excited. We go to see live music all the time, and it has been such a bummer to not be able to see bands.

A lot of stadiums and sporting arenas require you to have a clear bag so all items can be seen at once. If you have to use one, you definitely want a cute one.

Guitar-shaped book ends with books between them on a shelf.

Guitar Body Bookends

If you’re looking for a great way to help your guitar player organize his practice space, these Guitar Body Bookends are it.

If there aren’t any books between, it makes a guitar body. But add some books and it starts looking a little more abstract. Once someone sees it and gets it, though, it’s so cool.

Am amplifier key holder on a wall with some keys in it.

Amplifier Key Holder

If you want something cool and unique for your musician friend, this Amplifier Key Holder is it. It is designed to look just like an amp, and the on/off switch turns on (and off) a red light.

It comes with four “instrument cables” that attach to your keys and plug into four spaces on the key holder for easy storage.

A guitar-shaped bottle opener on a fridge.

Guitar Bottle Opener Magnet

If you want a small gift that will actually get a ton of use, get a guitar-shaped bottle opener. One that’s also a magnet so it’s always on the fridge when someone needs it is even better.

We have the one above, plus a couple others on our fridge, and they always come in handy.

A vintage gramophone-shaped speaker on a table.

Vintage Gramophone-Shaped Speaker

My mom got Pete this Vintage Gramophone-Shaped Speaker years ago because he saw it and instantly fell in love with it. You stick your phone in the slot and by magic, the speaker amplifies the sound.

You can get a very basic one, like this one, or you can get your friend a more intricate-looking one. Either will be a great gift.

Concert Tickets

If your friend’s favorite band is on tour, getting them concert tickets is the perfect gift.

I actually really like gifting concert tickets because that’s an experience, not clutter or something they need to find space for.

If I have time, I’ll wait and check StubHub as my friend’s birthday or the next holiday approaches because even though I want to gift my friend the tickets, if I can get them cheaper than face value, I will.
