The last baby shower I helped with was virtual, so I didn’t have to think about centerpieces. My cousin threw an outdoor baby shower recently and made these really cute Safari Baby Shower Centerpieces for the party.
They’re so cute.
You could use these safari centerpieces for a jungle-themed birthday party, a zoo animal party, or just a way to decorate a nursey or kid’s room.
These Safari Baby Shower Centerpieces are really cost effective to make on your own too, so they’re perfect if you’re planning a baby shower on a budget. The majority of the supplies came from the dollar store, so making them isn’t going to be a huge expense for you (or for whoever is hosting the baby shower or birthday party).

Start with two glass vases: a floral bowl and a hurricane candleholder. You’ll need to use one of each per safari baby shower centerpiece that you want to make.
When you’re at the store buying these, flip the floral bowl over and touch the bottom of it to the bottom of the hurricane candleholder. You want the bases to be about the same size. You’re going to end up gluing them together, so you want them to be virtually the same size.
If you’re ordering these online, just click the links in our safari baby shower centerpieces supply list. Those link to the exact glass pieces used in this tutorial, so ordering those will assure you have ones that fit properly.
Paint the hurricane candleholder with Mod Podge.
Roll out the green streamer and cut three strips that are long enough to wrap around the hurricane candleholder. Layer them on top of each other.
Roll the streamers around the Mod Podge. At the end of the streamers, put a little more Mod Podge on the end so it sticks.
As you’re doing this, make sure you leave extra green streamer over the top of the hurricane candleholder.
Use Gorilla Glue to glue the bottoms of the hurricane candleholder and floral bowl together. Let that dry.
Cut up extra green streamer that’s over the top vase to look like grass.
Put a foam block in the hurricane candleholder. You may need to cut the foam block down a little to fit into the hurricane candleholder.
Affix the wooden safari animals to the wooden dowels using tape. Stick the wooden dowels into the foam block.
Stick a few of the artificial plant stems into the foam block.
Cover the foam block with glass rocks. Shred some extra green streamer and put that on top of the glass rocks.
Place the entire safari baby shower centerpiece into the center of a piece of the tan tissue paper. Cover the bottom vase and gather the tan tissue paper in the middle. Use the twine to secure the tissue paper in place.
Viola! Safari centerpieces!
Purchase Safari Baby Shower Centerpieces
Planning a baby shower is a lot of work. Trust me. I’ve helped plan a couple of them and it’s always more work than you anticipate. And things always take longer than you expect.
So if you love these Safari Baby Shower Centerpieces, but you just don’t have the time to make these, don’t worry. You can purchase very similar and very easy to assemble safari baby shower centerpieces.
Purchase these jungle animal centerpiece sticks, which come with enough pieces to make eight centerpiece sticks. Then, just pick a couple cute glass vases to put them in. You could buy some green decorative shred to fill the vases with if you’re really feeling adventurous (oh, you see what I did there) or you could leave them as is.
Planning a jungle-themed baby shower?
These Safari Baby Shower Centerpieces would be perfect for your jungle baby shower theme. If you’re looking to pick up a few other items to work with your safari baby shower, we have a few helpful items for you.
All-In-One Safari Garland Kit
This safari garland kit comes with the perfect mix of items to make a gorgeous safari balloon arch. It comes with gold, green, and white balloons, ivy vine, and Monstera leaves. It also comes with the balloon garland arch strip, glue dots, a tie tool, and string to assemble the balloon arch.
What’s even better, the garland kit comes with the burlap Welcome or Welcome Baby banner, so you don’t have to think about making one of those.
Photo booths and cute backdrops are so popular right now. So you’ll definitely want to have one at your safari-themed baby shower. And it definitely makes sense to have backdrop that matches your theme, like this A Wild One Is On The Way backdrop.
It’s 7-feet by 5-feet, so you’ll need a large blank wall to hang it. While it’s not being used as a backdrop, it’ll be perfect decor for your baby shower.
You baby shower dessert is another great way to incorporate the jungle safari baby shower theme you’re going with.
You could purchase a beautiful, but expensive, cake from a bakery. But, what I would do instead, is purchase these Jungle Safari Animal Cupcake Wrappers. The package comes with 48 wrappers, including a crocodile, elephant, giraffe, koala, hippo, leopard, lion, monkey, orangutan, sloth, tiger, and zebra.
They add a huge pop of decor to your party and, according to the reviews of them, are worth every penny.
