How To Get Free Samples

This post is sponsored by MySavings.

how to get free samplesMy parents just bought a new house, which means they have a new address to send free samples too. That’s exciting … well, for me anyway. See, I’m usually the one who requests free samples for them. Does anyone else do that? I send them to my mom in her name, but I give her the new middle name of “Himom” so she knows they are from me.

There are a few ways that anyone can get free samples. You don’t have to be a blogger, or the mother of a blogger, to get free samples.

How To Get Free Samples

Reach out to companies.
When I first moved out on my own, I ruined a pot. Really ruined it. I was boiling something — I sort of remember it being milk for hot chocolate — and forgot about it. The entire bottom of my pot was coated in a burnt film. I couldn’t wash it off and soaking it overnight for a handful of nights didn’t help either. I bought an O-Cel-O sponge and scrubbed the pot — and it was clean. It was seriously like magic. I immediately emailed the company to tell them about how amazing the sponges are. O-Cel-O was a surprisingly amazing brand and I wanted the company to know that. The company was so happy with my email, it sent me a few sponges.

I wouldn’t suggest emailing every company just so you can score freebies, but if you really do love a product or brand, reach out. You might receive coupons and samples.

Check Freebie Sites.
There are a few sites that I check regularly to see if there are any available samples. I check MySavings Free Samples, Costco’s website (look for free samples in the search bar), Your Daily Freebie, and Target’s website. You can check these on your own, or you can just come here to Drugstore Divas and check out our free samples link. All free samples posted on this blog are curated under that link so you can just go through and request them.

Look For “Free With Purchase” Items.
There are a lot of companies that will give you free samples with a purchase. Sephora is great like that. You can usually request three to five samples with every online order. It doesn’t matter what you purchase or how much your order costs. You can just request the freebies. In store, you may often see something like a sample of fabric softener attached to a bottle of laundry detergent. You’ll need to buy the detergent to get it. You can’t just walk through the aisle and pull every fabric softener sample from each bottle, but this is a good way to try a new softener.
