There was a time when we were having a ton of smoothies. They’re a really delicious and healthy way to start your day. I suggest making them at night and then you can grab one from the fridge in the morning when you’re getting ready for work. If you want to try something new, go with this Blueberry, Kale, and Fig Protein Smoothie.
This is definitely the ultimate breakfast protein smoothie. Don’t worry about the kale sounding funny in it. You won’t even notice. You can stick kale and spinach in smoothies and they still taste delicious. The other flavors will overpower it. So you will get the greens into your breakfast, but it’ll taste just like fruit.
When you’re making smoothies, keep this in mind.
Also, keep really color-heavy fruits in mind too. Blueberries and blackberries are really dark and will color your smoothie, hiding the green of the kale. Light fruit like lemons won’t do that. So if you’re like me and you eat (and drink) with your eyes, and don’t feel like sipping a green smoothie, a darker fruit will be your friend.
You can use fresh or frozen fruit. Either is fine. Frozen fruit will have a little more water, so your smoothie may be a little thinner than if you use fresh fruit.

Blueberry, Kale And Fig Protein Smoothie Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 2 handfuls of kale
- 1/2 cup of figs
- 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
- 1.5 cup coconut or almond milk
- 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
- 1 tablespoon tahini
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 scoop protein powder
How To Make A Blueberry, Kale And Fig Protein Smoothie:
Slice your banana into discs and put them in a freezer-safe glass container. Leave them until they freeze. You can use a fresh banana and skip this step, but I prefer a frozen banana.
Place all ingredients in a single-serve blender.
Blend smooth.
