If you need a gift for a poker player, this list — with ideas like giant cards, wearable items, and other poker-adjacent games — will guide you to a great gift.

My family loves playing cards. Growing up, my grandma would always teach us card games and we’d play them at every family get together. Of all the games, though, I was never good at poker. So this list of the top gifts for poker players? Not for me.
See, we play poker Thanksgiving and I’m usually out pretty early. It’s fine with me because I just want to talk and socialize anyway, and you can’t do that in poker. You have to really have a strategy and bluff and I’m just not very good at that at all.
Plus, I’m not sure when to raise a lot and when to raise a little. I asked too many questions when it was my turn, so I guess that’s my tell.
And then, I’m really bad at remembering what beats what. Which is better: a full house or a straight flush? I have no idea. When we play Michigan Rummy, there’s a poker hand section on the board. And Pete and I use a cheat sheet to figure out if our hands are good or not.
You can’t have a cheat sheet in actual poker.
If you can remember what beats what, or have a family member who loves poker, this gift guide is for you.

This list is titled gifts for poker players, but it would work as gifts for card players too. Because poker isn’t the only card game out there.

Card Shuffler
If your poker-loving friend plays a lot, a card shuffler makes life so much easier.
We were sent one for review from Lotus and it’s so easy to use. You put the cards in the center, push a button, and it shuffles the cards for you. It’s literally five seconds for the entire deck to shuttle (I timed it). Put the two new stacks on top of each other and repeat this seven times total for the perfect shuffle.
This is an especially nice gift for older card players because it’s simpler to have the card shuffler shuffle for them.
When they’re done playing, the sides fold over for easy, compact storage.

The Gang (Cooperative Poker Game)
We went to a board game night recently (with strangers we had never met) and played The Gang. I never heard of it before then. It’s a cooperative poker game, with up to 10 players, where the goal is to figure out who has the worst to best poker hands without telling everyone what you have.
It’s played like Texas hold ’em where you get more cards and your hand can change drastically.
If you get it right — the entire team has to be in order — three times before you fail three times, you win.
Pete and I had the absolute best time playing this game and I laughed so hard that I had tears rolling down my cheeks. And still, all these people were strangers. If that doesn’t tell you how good this game is and how it’s a must-add-to-cart item, I don’t know what else to say.

Waterproof Playing Cards
Your poker player has so many packs of playing cards. They have to. But, what they might not have is a set of waterproof playing cards. So that’s a great gift idea.
That way, when your friend wants to start an impromptu poker game on your beach vacation or at the community pool, he won’t worry about ruining his other cards.

Dealer’s Shoe
If your friend deals a lot of cards, a dealer’s shoe is such a great gift idea. The cards easily slide out from the shoe, making dealing quick and easy. This is what casino dealers use.
Sure, it’s easy enough to just hold a deck of cards and deal, but this adds a bit more fun to playing at home.

Poker Chip Set
If your friend hosts poker games at home, he probably has a poker chip set. But, if he’s a new player, he might not.
So a poker chip set could be a good gift idea. My parents had one and used it so many times when I was growing up. I’ve had one for about two decades and, well, the plastic is still on the chips. We are not the same.

Michigan Rummy Game
We love to have game night with my parents and one of our favorite card games is Michigan Rummy.
You get dealt cards and the first part of the game is playing a poker hand. So that will really appeal to poker players.
This isn’t poker-centric, but poker-adjacent, which is actually probably a better gift for someone who has been playing poker a long time. She probably has all the gear she needs, and this is probably something she doesn’t have.

Jumbo Playing Cards
We went to a game night a couple weeks ago and one of the games we played was Uno — with giant cards. We loved it so much because playing with oversized cards is really funny.
So I know your poker-loving friend will love playing poker with jumbo playing cards.
It just makes the game a little more fun for everyone (except maybe people with little hands).

Playing Card Suit Shaped Cookie Cutters
I actually own these playing card suit shaped cookie cutters.
I bought them for a friend for Christmas, never ended up seeing her at Christmastime, unwrapped them around Easter, and they’ve been in my baking drawer ever since. I’ve had these longer than I’ve had Pete, so that tells you how old they are.
But, I did think they were a great gift for a poker lover because that’s who I bought them for originally.

Playing Card Kitchen Towel
You guys know I have more kitchen towels than most people. But I love changing them with the seasons and holidays.
If your friend is the same way, they’ll love a playing card kitchen towel as a gift.
There are so many to choose from online, so you’re bound to find the perfect one to fit your friend’s kitchen and personality.

Poker Socks
My brother once said, “White socks are a wasted opportunity” and ever since, I like to gift fun socks to people as gifts. So you’ll always find a pair on our gift guides. And this one is no exception.
I actually got this pair of socks from Pete from a trip I took to Las Vegas with my mom. I think I lost all my gambling and souvenir money, so it’s all I could afford. Just kidding. Probably.
But, everyone wears socks. And if you’re lucky, your poker socks will become your poker player’s lucky socks.

Poker Slippers
Sometimes your friends don’t need more poker items. They have enough. So poker-related items, like these poker slippers, are a great idea.
This is my mom’s actual pair of slippers and she wears them all the time. So I know the poker player in your life will too.

Poker Chip From A Casino
I have a collection of $1 poker chips from casinos I’ve visited. Plus, I inherited my grandma’s casino chip collection, so I have a ton from when she collected them too.
Whenever my mom is on vacation and visits a new casino, she brings me back a poker chip.
So, this might be a great idea for your friend. Sure, it doesn’t help him play poker, but it is something different that he might not be able to get on his own.
