I say there’s a day for everything, but honestly, there’s a day for everything. And today (August 26) is National Dog Day. And of course, a ton of places are offering freebies and deals to celebrate.
And by places, I mean coffee shops along with pet stores. Not just pet stores. Because it’s not just Hallmark that gets to monetize manufactured holidays.
But anyway. If you need an excuse to spoil your pup today, we put together this list. We kept the list to national or large regional chains. Your local pet stores may be doing something, but if we included all those, this list would be very long.

Get a free pup cup when you bring your pup through the drive through.
This is an every day deal, not just for National Dog Day.
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream
Bring your dog to any participating location for a free Doggie Sundae.
Fun fact: This is every day at Bruster’s, not just a National Dog Day deal.
Dutch Bros. Coffee
Starting at 5 am, you can get a limited-edition dog bandana with every medium or large drink purchase.
There will be three designs and it’s a limit of 10 per person. Yes, person. No dog is required for this deal.
Petco
From 6 pm to 8 pm, your pup can get a free PSL pup cup, made with Whipped Pup Cup (a whipped cream for dogs) and Native Pet pumpkin supplement powder.
Raising Canes
If you live in Las Vegas, participating locations are giving out a free pet item from 9 am until 2 am. It’s a limit of one swag item per dog.

Scooter’s Coffee
On August 23, bring your dog through the drive through for a free fall-themed plaid bandana.
Then, the coffee shop always offers pup cups with any (human) purchase, but for National Dog Day (August 26), the pup cup will be fall themed with cinnamon and a dog treat.
Even better, share a photo of it on Instagram with the hashtag #ScootersPupCup to enter for a chance to win a year-long BarkBox subscription or a Scooter’s Coffee Doggy Bag.

There’s rumors of a free pup smoothie online, but I haven’t found anything definitive from the brand just yet.
