Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (WTF!) Burger From Burgabox
It was a Friday during Lent when a huge box of meat arrived at our doorstep. My plan was just to put the whole thing in the fridge and wait a few days, but it doesn’t work like that. Burgabox does not send a box that’s fridge sized. Instead, it sends enough food to feed four people once, then two people for a few more days during the week.
So, finally, after abstaining from meat on Friday, then waiting a Saturday (because we had dinner plans), my parents came over on a Sunday to check out the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (WTF!) BurgaBox.
Let’s chat about Burgabox for a minute. It’s a subscription box that’s not for the faint of heart. It comes with 8 oz. burgers (either two or four, depending on what you order), French fries, and macaroni and cheese. Plus, all the toppings you could ever want on a burger. And then, because that might not be enough, you also get baked beans and coleslaw.
Our toppings were (okay, are you ready for this?), macaroni and cheese, pulled pork, an onion ring, pickles, and BBQ sauce. For a minute it seems like a lot, and when you get all that on top of your burger, it also looks like a lot. But when you take a bite, everything goes together to give a bite of the most perfect burger.
In addition to all the ingredients, you also get instructions on cooking and assembly, which is very helpful.

What You’ll Need:
- Everything you need is included in the Burgabox that is sent to you
What You’ll Do:
Heat up your charcoal grill and grill your burgers. Now, okay. This is the only way we deviated from the instructions in the box. It says to cook your burgers in a pan. I know this actually is a method to cook the burger in its own fat and juices, filling it with flavor. But, it’s basically summer here. And in the summer, you can’t beat a burger from the grill.
Oh, we put the buns on the grill too. But, I mean, a burger in summer. It’s basically sac-relig to not, right?
While your burger is grilling, cook your toppings.
Heat up your pulled pork, then your macaroni and cheese, according to the package. Do the same with the onion rings.
Then, start building your burger. Put the burger on the bottom, followed by the macaroni and cheese, the pulled pork, the onion ring, the pickles, and a healthy drizzle of BBQ sauce. Finish it with the top bun.
Now, let’s chat about multitasking for a minute. You’re going to want to serve this with the accompanying baked beans, macaroni and cheese, and French fries. Each one has a different cooking time and temperature, so you have to do a little bit of juggling and time management to make sure everything comes out of the oven warm.
With the four pack, we got four burgers and all the toppings, plus Buffalo chicken macaroni and cheese, and garlic Parmesan fries. The macaroni and cheese was amazing. I have a mac and cheese obsession, and this definitely filled my need. There were huge slices of chicken, plus a great amount of bleu cheese crumbles on it. I actually ate the leftovers for dinner the next two nights.
We had leftovers of the burgers too, mostly because my mom and I decided to split one.
The fries were so good — but not leftovers. Sad. It came with a canister of the topping, which I could have eaten by the spoonful. If I could buy just that and lather it top on everything I make for the rest of my life, I would be a happy girl.
The 2-person/burger meal is $65 and the four person is $75. For an extra $10, it’s absolutely worth it. That ends up being about $19 a person. That’s almost what you’d spend for a dinner out. Granted, there you wouldn’t have to cook for yourself, but Pete and I did all the cooking, so my parents had a night out. For the two pack, it’s $32.50 each, and that’s a bit more than we generally spend getting burgers and sides at a restaurant here. Remember, though, you’re paying to quality and quantity. You get a lot of food for that price. Also, it’s good food delivered fresh. The company actually only ships Monday through Wednesday so that the product gets to you by Friday. It won’t ship later in the week and risk your fresh, on ice packs, ingredients sitting in a warehouse over the weekend.
To help you out, if you pick up the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (WTF!) Burgabox, you can save $10 with the code DIVAS10.
I think it’s a perfect housewarming gift idea. It’s a great way for new home owners to break in their new kitchens. I’d say it’s a good idea for when you have company over too, but it depends on your company. You need to invite over some burger lovers with big appetites.
Now, the WTF burger was my top choice, but it’s not the only one Burgabox carries. There are a ton of pre-made boxes you can choose from. If you’re more adventurous, go with the subscription. Once a month, you’ll get a Burgabox delivered straight to your door. Each month has a different theme. March, for example, was Irish-themed with Guinness-soaked meats and Irish potatoes.
For the burger lover, that’s a perfect gift idea.
