Pete and I love coffee. We both have it in the mornings, but coffee isn’t just a morning drink. It’s something special to share together at the end of the night, a delicious dessert in a glass, one to take outside on the porch on a nice summer night, and just enjoy.

So he created a Spiked Mocha Nut Coffee. It’s a dessert, for sure, but one for adults only.

There is a way to make this virgin, if you’re sharing with your kids, but they would probably prefer a hot chocolate instead. And that’s fine too (especially since before I drank coffee, hot chocolate was my drink of choice too).

Spiked Mocha Nut Coffee Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. milk
  • 4 oz. coffee, brewed
  • 1/2 oz. Disaronno (you can use a Hazelnut syrup if you’re making this for anyone under 21 or non-drinkers)
  • 1 tsp. powdered chocolate mix

What You’ll Do:

Brew the coffee in a coffee maker.

Add half a shot of Disaronno or syrup to your cup, then add the powdered chocolate mix.

Pour 4 oz. of coffee into the cup, then add 1 oz. of milk.

Stir and serve warm.

You could actually top it with whipped cream and chocolate syrup to give it an extra kick, but we didn’t have any on hand. If you prefer, you can stick this in the fridge and serve it cold.
