Organizing Your Laundry Room Done Easy

Drugstore Divas received these boxes for this Organizing Your Laundry Room Done Easy post. All thoughts, opinions, and additional items belong to Drugstore Divas.

Organizing Your Laundry RoomI was reading an article the other day about Pinterest stress, a condition caused by finding things on Pinterest and then not being able to create them, thus making you feel like a failure.

In a sense, I can relate.

Before we moved to North Carolina, I was on Pinterest and saw this idea to take moving boxes, cover them in fabric, and create beautiful and cheap storage boxes.

That was my plan.

And a year later, that was still my plan. Until yesterday, we had our laundry room items in brown moving boxes, labeled with marker.

Not cool.

So when I got a chance to check out Brylane Home’s storage boxes (which are no longer available), I almost couldn’t wait until the weekend clean up and write this organizing your laundry room post.

Organizing Your Laundry Room

The boxes came in one floral pattern, and they come in a set of three: large, medium, and small. TI needed almost four sets to organize our laundry room). The trios come with three fabric covered cardboard inserts that sit at the bottom of the box so they don’t collapse on themselves. I love that the cardboard has a small loop on the end that you could pull to easily remove it, in case you needed to collapse them.

Prior to using the boxes, the shelf in our laundry room was a mess. It had a handful of moving boxes, scribbled on. And if you take a good look at the box in the top left corner, you can see paper towels sticking out the top. And the right side of the shelf is just a hot mess. We were using these boxes, but not everything fit correctly.

I didn’t like how it looked at all, but this is what we had to use, and so we did. I had plans of recreating that pin I mentionen, but even if I did, we still wouldn’t have had enough boxes. And the ones we had wouldn’t have had enough height.

So we just let it be.

Organizing Your Laundry RoomI’m a couponer, which means I do have a stockpile. I have more bottles of dish detergent and hand soap than most people. And we’ve been storing them in our laundry room. If you’re the same way, organizing your laundry room (or whatever you use for stockpile storage) is a high priority.

These boxes are deep enough that they are able to hold our stockpile — and conceal it. Nothing is popping out the top.

With our original organization technique, Pete wrote directly onto the boxes. With these pretty boxes, I didn’t want to do that. But I needed some sort of method because I didn’t want us to have to look through every box each time we needed toilet paper. So, when I was transferring the items from the moving boxes to these ones, I wrote the contents onto a piece of paper and then taped it to the box.

But don’t worry. I didn’t leave it there forever.

When all the boxes were filled and organized, I drew a little diagram of the layout of the boxes. I then labels the diagram with the contents of the boxes. That way, we can just check the chart before going into the boxes. And it will help when we purchase something that needs to be put away. Instead of just dropping it in one of the top boxes, we can actually figure out where it goes.

Organizing Your Laundry Room

I’m absolutely in love with the boxes. Not only do they hold everything, but they are so sturdy, even when I lift them by the fabric handles. I could never pick up a box filled with laundry detergent bottles, but with these handles, I was able to pick the box up from the floor to the chair I was standing on, then from the chair to the shelf with ease.

What other ideas do you have for organizing your laundry room?

Those boxes look very pretty! I have a couple that I found at a Dollar store but the ones from Brylane Home look bigger than the ones I have, I'll have to check those out! Thanks for the review, I have LOTS of Pinterest projects that I want to get done... Not sure when or if they will even get started!

They are so pretty! I saw some similar at TJ MAXX once and they cost more than that apiece! I need something like this. The plastic ones I have are too heavy. I have to kick and push w my legs to move them!
