Review & Giveaway: Balance Bar nimble/Quickie Chick [[Ends June 25]]
This afternoon, Drugstore Divas’ Facebook page hit 11,000 likes on Facebook. Eleven thousand. Wow. I can’t even fathom that number. I remember hoping so hard to hit 500 — and that wasn’t all that very long ago. So, to grow by leaps and bounds, wow, I’m incredibly humbled.
So, to celebrate, I have a review and giveaway all ready to go.
This one is for Balance Bar nimble bars. They’re in the Balance Bar family, if you remember the Balance Bar Bare giveaway, you know their sibling. These bars, however, are only for women.
I was excited to try them since they’re only 120 calories. When I got them, they were, well, they’re kinda small. Two bites — three if you’re a nibbler — and they’re gone. So, I was convinced the size was why they were low in calories. But, after I ate them, I realized I was full. These little bars pack a punch. They actually filled me up.
The bars come in two flavors: yogurt orange swirl, which I absolutely love, and peanut butter, which I’m trying to get Pete to eat. They’re not exactly my fave, which is crazy because I love peanut butter. They’re a little dry for me, almost the same as a protein bar. I only have the box for the yogurt orange swirl [[they both came in the same box, so I’ve never even seen the peanut butter box]], but these have 10g of protein, which is 20%, which is a lot. Eat five of these and you won’t need any chicken or beans at dinner.
In addition to that, they have 5g of fiber, contain calcium, iron, Vitamin D [[for those of you who quite like Twilight and never see the sun]], and Vitamin B6. That’s all for your body. For your skin, there’s lutein [[okay, really, I don’t know what that is]], beta-carotene, and antioxidants C & E. Now, really, I don’t know what that means, but I copied it off the box in case it means something to do.
Wanna win some of your own? How about some other gifts? Yup, you got it. I’m giving away a pack with: twelve bars of nimble in two scrumptious flavors – Peanut Butter and Yogurt Orange Swirl; an autographed copy of Laurel House’s just-published book, Quickie Chick’s Cheat Sheet to Life, Love, Food, Fitness, Fashion and Finance on a Less Than Fabulous Budget; a limited retro-50s-style wildflower wristlet by glittersweet [[which I got too, and I’ve been using to hold our petty cash and a few coupons in]]; and two Bloom Black Ties – a hair tie that is also stylish jewelry. Wear it in your hair or wear it on your wrist. Either way it’s “The Elastic All Dressed Up!”
The prize is valued at $109 and is not available in stores. Your only way to get it is to win a pack. One winner per household, email address or home address. If you have won this prize on another blog you are ineligible to win again.
This giveaway starts now and goes until June 25 at 11:59pm. Good luck.
