I have very long hair. It’s usually very healthy, but this time of the year, it looks like I ride the hot mess express everywhere I go. This weather makes my hair so frizzy. The best thing I can do with it is throw it in a braid and wait for spring. But a regular braid is so boring, plus, it’s a little too much like Katniss Everdeen’s look. I like The Hunger Games (a lot, actually), but a long braid is a little 2012.

If you understand my hair woes, you’ll love this option: a fishtail braid. If you have long hair like me, this braid will take a while to do. But it’s so worth it.

Wash your hair with Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner. This variant is specifically for frizzy and unmanageable hair. It contains keratin and gives you frizz control for up to 48 hours. That’s exactly what I need this time of year. And since it makes your hair smooth and manageable, it’s a lot easier to style it.

Towel dry or air dry your hair.

Split your hair into two sections.

Take one piece from the right side and fold it over into the section of hair on the left side.

Take a piece of hair from the left side and fold it over into the second of hair on the right side.

Continue this back and forth until you run out of hair.

Secure the end of your braid with an elastic hair tie. Those are more gentle on your hair than a traditional hair tie.

I was able to pick up the Suave products and a package of hair ties at CVS. Of course, I left with a new (to me) CVS reusable bag. I had an old red plastic one from CVS forever ago (does anyone remember those?), but I was so excited to see these super stylish canvas bags. How perfect are they?

You can pick them up in a variety of prints for just $2.99 at your local CVS. It’s perfect to carry out your new hair care products.

Your hair looks wonderful! I have long hair, but it’s nowhere near as long as yours. I’d love to try this style – it’s a bit more grown up than an ordinary braid but still beautiful. Shared on the Hearth and Soul Facebook page. Thank you so much for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party. Hope you are having a lovely week!
