*HOT* Walgreens: Free 8×10 Photo Print (Today Only!)

*HOT* Walgreens: Free 8×10 Photo Print (Today Only!)

free 8x10 from walgreensI’ve been waiting for a free 8×10 from Walgreens. See, our house is pretty bare. It’s my own fault. I have this anxiety about banging holes into our brand new walls. And don’t even get me started on Command Hooks and how one actually ripped a huge chunk out of our wall when we hung the first — and only — poster up in this house.

But still, I order 8×10’s in the hope that one day our house will be old enough that I don’t mind taking a hammer to it. It’s been a yer now. Maybe when we get to two.

Right now, though, we can all get a free 8×10 photo at Walgreens with the code PRNTEXCLSV. The code is valid today, March 26, only. Upload your photo, crop it if you need, then choose in store pickup and it will be completely free. Checking out and using that code is easy; going through my photos and picking which to print, well, that’s gonna be hard.

If you can’t decide on just one photo, you can use a site like PicMonkey to design a photo with multiple images first. Be sure to choose 800×1000 as the size, then add any photos or text.

What did you print a photo of?

How To Take Care Of Color-Treated Hair #YSYW

#ad Learn how to take care of color-treated hair with this post from www.drugstoredivas.net. #YSYWI’ve played with the color of my hair just twice in my life. When I was in my late teens, I dyed my whole head jet black … and didn’t take a single photo of it. I remember thinking that was strange at the time, that I would have nothing but the memory of that black hair, but nothing to prove it actually existed. That was a pre-mirror selfie time though, before my friends and I started photo-documenting every moment of our lives.

The next time was a handful of years later when I bleached the entire underside of my hair blonde. Okay, I didn’t do it. My uncle who owns a hair salon did it. I loved that style so much. At the time, my brother asked me if I thought I would hate that style when I looked back on photos years later. I told him no, that I would love it. But, actually, I do still love those photos so much. I always think about doing it again, but I actually grow my hair to donate it, and you can’t donate bleached hair.

My mom, however, dyes her hair (Shhh, cat’s out of the bag!). She took a trip down to CVS to fill you in on her latest routine from cvs.com/yourstyleyourway so she could tell you how to take care of color-treated hair.

How To Take Care Of Color-Treated Hair

At her local store, she picked up: TRESemmé® Keratin Smooth Color Shampoo, TRESemmé® Keratin Smooth Color Conditioner, TRESemmé® Keratin Smooth Hair Spray, and TRESemmé® Keratin Heat Defense Spray.

Step 1: Cleanse with TRESemmé® Keratin Smooth Color Shampoo.
Step 2: Condition with TRESemmé® Keratin Smooth Color Conditioner.
Step 3: Style with TRESemmé® Keratin Smooth Hair Spray.
Step 4: Finish the look with TRESemmé® Keratin Heat Defense Spray.

It’s a great four step regimen for beautiful, silky-smooth locks. The TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Color Shampoo and Conditioner is specially designed for color treated hair. It’s formulated with Keratin and Moroccan Argan Oil to nourish and protect your colored hair while smoothing hair from root to tip.

The TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Frizz-Free Hold Hairspray has a salon-inspired formula to control frizz for up to 48 hours, creating a protective barrier finish to lock out frizz and humidity.

And the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Defense Spray helps shield hair from the damaging effects of heat styling and seals in shine. This is especially good if you blow dry your hair.

Through Valentine’s Day, you can get a free 8×10 print from CVS. Just click that link, add one to your cart, and enter the code VALENTINE at checkout. Even better, if you pick in store pick up, this is completely free.

This is perfect for a last minute Valentine’s Day gift. Just add a frame from the dollar store and you have a quick present. If you’re actually looking for a gift idea, try the I Love You Because … dry erase frame from A Bride On A Budget. You can get a free printable for it too (which I designed!).

I actually have a bunch of free printables on A Bride On A Budget, so if you’re looking for something to print, take a look through those. They’re great if you (or a friend) are planning a wedding.

If you need another idea for this, print out a coloring page. Then, get dry erase markers in a bunch of different colors. Put it in a frame, and let your kids color away. Then, when they want to color again, just wipe it down and color again. That’s a really fun idea that I’m sure your kids will love.

How To Get Ready For Valentine’s Date Night #Scentmates #ad

Sponsored post by Mirum Shopper. All opinions are my own.

Find out how to get ready for Valentine's Date Night from www.drugstoredivas.net.Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Are you excited? I love Valentine’s Day dates. They’re really special to me. I’m not the kind of girl who makes a big deal out of Valentine’s. I don’t expect flowers or chocolate, but I do like to go out for Valentine’s Day. It’s a good excuse to get dressed up and go on a date with your spouse or significant other, and that’s really important. So often, we get so busy with life that we forget to do things like date our spouse. Valentine’s Day is a good reminder to stop and plan date night.

But if you forget to plan date night, do you remember how to get ready for Valentine’s date night? We’ve got some reminders for you in this post.

How To Get Ready For Valentine’s Date Night

Find someone to go on a date with.
Pretty simple, I know, but you have to find someone to go on a date with. Maybe it’s your significant other; maybe it’s your kid; or maybe it’s your mom. These are all dates. So you can easily find someone to go on a Valentine’s date with, even if you’re not in a relationship.

Make a reservation.
Once you figure out who you’re going out with, you’ll be able to decide where you are going to go. If your date doesn’t like fish, don’t choose a seafood restaurant. When you figure out where you want to go, call and make a reservation. You don’t want to show up and not be able to sit, causing you to run around on Valentine’s Day. So the earlier you can book, the better.

Find an outfit.
When you decide where you’re going, you’ll be able to figure out what type of outfit is most appropriate. If you’re going to a fancy restaurant, jeans are probably not the way to go. Even if you’re going to a place where jeans are okay, you might want to wear a dress anyway. I would much rather be overdressed somewhere than underdressed.

Find out how to get ready for Valentine's Date Night from www.drugstoredivas.net.

Shower.
Valentine’s Day is a Tuesday this year, which means you have to get through a full work or school day before you get to date night. Shower and wash the day off of you. Shower when you get home. Speaking of showering, starting today you can head into Walgreens to save $1 on any ONE (1) participating AXE or Caress product. Click the link here by February 5 to load the coupon to your card and use it by March 5.

You can use it on Axe Black Bodywash for him (with notes of bergamot, rosemary and cedarwood to create a relaxing fragrance experience for the body and mind, which is good in case your man is nervous for date night) or Caress Love Forever Bodywash (with up to 12 hours of long-lasting fragrance, plus — and this is so cool — it has a breakthrough Fragrance Touch Technology that releases bursts of perfume with every touch of your skin) for you.

Get ready.
Doing your hair or make up? Last minute touch up on polish that chipped on your nails? Whatever you need to do to get ready, do it post-shower. This is a good time to spray on some perfume too.

Grab your gift.
If you have a gift for your date, which is not required but always nice, grab it as you’re running out the door. You don’t want to forget it.

What else do you need to do to get ready for Valentine’s date night?

Slow Cooker Chicken Soup Recipe

Slow Cooker Chicken Soup Recipe

#ad It's the time of year for chicken soup. Don't slave over the stove! Make this slow cooker chicken soup from www.drugstoredivas.net instead. #HealthySavingsPete calls this time of year “Snuggle Season.” It’s finally cold enough to snuggle all night long. That’s great … except for the fact that it’s cold. And cold means colds. Ugh, right? No one wants to be sick, but it’s pretty inevitable. At some point this season, you’ll probably get sick. And when you’re sick, all you want is your mom’s chicken soup, right? That and maybe something like Advil® Sinus Congestion & Pain too.

But sometimes, you’re too sick to make soup and shop for relief. That’s when it’s nice to have a friend who will deliver you comfort. In the times you’re not the one sick, you might want to make a huge batch of chicken soup for a friend who is sick. You don’t have to slave over a stove making your mom’s chicken soup every time you have a sick friend though. Instead, you should make my mom’s chicken soup. Why? Because she has a recipe for the best slow cooker chicken soup. Don’t worry. I’m sharing her (not so) secret recipe below.

Slow Cooker Chicken Soup Recipe

#ad It's the time of year for chicken soup. Don't slave over the stove! Make this slow cooker chicken soup from www.drugstoredivas.net instead. #HealthySavings

What You Need:

  • 1.25 pounds chicken breast
  • 2 medium onions
  • 3 carrots
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 48oz. chicken broth
  • 3 fresh parsley stalks
  • 1 teaspoon dill
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 8oz. extra wide egg noodles

What You’ll Do:

#ad It's the time of year for chicken soup. Don't slave over the stove! Make this slow cooker chicken soup from www.drugstoredivas.net instead. #HealthySavings

Peel and chop your vegetables (onions, carrots, celery, and parsley).

#ad It's the time of year for chicken soup. Don't slave over the stove! Make this slow cooker chicken soup from www.drugstoredivas.net instead. #HealthySavings

Add the chicken broth, vegetables, chicken, and seasoning to the slow cooker. Cook on low for 4 hours.

#ad It's the time of year for chicken soup. Don't slave over the stove! Make this slow cooker chicken soup from www.drugstoredivas.net instead. #HealthySavings

Add your egg noodles.

Cook on high an additional 15 to 20 minutes, until your noodles are very tender.

Very carefully, shred your chicken breasts. You can do this with two forks or meat claws, whatever you have at home.

Now, if you’re eating this yourself for dinner, you’ll want to serve it warm. But if you’re making this for a sick friend, you’ll need to store it.

What we do is put it in a mason jar when it’s piping hot, quickly closing the top, then flip the jar. What happens is you’ll be able to disinfect the inside of the lid and it will also form a seal. When your friend opens it, that very cool “pop” sound will happen.

After it has cooled, put it in a gift box with a card, tissues, and any products your recipient may need to feel better. We paired ours with Advil® Sinus Congestion & Pain and Advil® Allergy Congestion Relief. Use both as directed.

Advil At Walgreens

You can pick up both of these at Walgreens, which is where we generally stock up on these types of products – even when we’re not sick. The prices are great there, so I usually pair a coupon and a sale. Then, when we’re sick, we can just run into our closet instead of running to the store. In fact, these Advil® products are on sale at Walgreens this week, so sounds like a good time to get to the store and pick some up.

Our get well soon pack includes Advil® Sinus Congestion & Pain, Advil® Allergy Congestion Relief, tissues, and slow cooker chicken soup. What would you add to make tt your own?

Winter Bathroom Essentials For Men #DoveCaresForMen #ad

Winter Bathroom Essentials For Men #DoveCaresForMen #ad

This post, Winter Bathroom Essentials For Men, is sponsored by Mirum Shopper. Opinions are 100% my own.

#ad Changing your bathroom supplies with the season? Check out these winter bathroom essentials for men from www.drugstoredivas.net. #DoveCaresForMenWhen we start thinking about winter, women tend to think about products we need. It’s time to find a more hydrating lotion for our dry hands and an exfoliating scrub for that dead skin. But what about the man in your life. He needs a few new products to update his bathroom routine for winter too. So when you’re out shopping, keep him in mind.

What, exactly, does your man need, though? Sometimes, it feels like it’s just guessing and picking up random products that say “men” on them, right? I sat Pete down and asked him what his picks for winter bathroom essentials for men are.

Winter Bathroom Essentials For Men

IN THE SHOWER
Body Wash
Pete used soap until he met me and I introduced him to body wash. He hasn’t looked back. What’s great about Dove Men+Care products is that you can purchase a body and face wash. It’s the same bottle. It takes up less room in the shower, plus it eliminates the need for a second face wash in the shower.

Bar Soap
If your man prefers bar soap, stock him up on that instead. Dove Men+Care has body and face bars, similar to the dual-purpose body wash. It just makes life easier and your shower less cluttered.

Shampoo
Pete actually makes his own shampoo. If your man doesn’t, pick him up some good shampoo — especially if his hair is going to be stuck under a hat for a good portion of the winter. You don’t want it to be completely flat when his hat comes off. Oh sure, your man could use yours, but if you’re like me, your shampoo is some sort of sweet smelling scent. Men don’t want that.

dove-men-plus-care

AROUND THE SINK
Lotion & Shaving Cream
Before a man shaves, it’s a good idea to put lotion on his neck. Then, he’ll put shaving cream on top of so he can have a shave without razor burn. Razor burn actually is worse for some people in the winter than any other time of year, so this two-step method will really help your man out.

A Good Razor
Regardless of if your man shaves in or out of the shower, he’ll want a good razor to do it. An old razor can end up with dull blades, plus dead skin in those blades. Gross. So while you’re updating his products, you’ll want to update his razor too.

Face Wash
Go with a separate face wash, one he can keep around the sink. It’ll be easier for him to wash off the sweat from his brow after being bundled up all day. Winter sweat, it’s worse than summer sweat.

AFTER THE SHOWER
Deodorant
It’s still so warm in  the winter in North Carolina that deodorant is still a must at all times. Stick or spray, it doesn’t matter. As long as your man has one available. And preferably a new one. Deodorants don’t last forever.

Cologne
It’s nice to smell nice. If your man likes to, cologne is the way to go. A new scent for a new season is great too. I vote for something a bit or musky or woodsy, but you have to see what works for your man.

Blow dryer
In the winter, it’s a good habit to dry your hair before you leave the house. You don’t want to leave with cold hair. Trust me. I do it too much. So making sure your blow dryer is out of hiding and accessible by your man is a great thing!

Just because you’re stocking your man up doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot. This week, there’s a buy one, get one 50% off participating Dove Men+Care products offer at CVS. This includes hair care, body and face two-bar packs, 13.5 oz. body wash, and deodorant. Plus, check your local paper for additional savings. You can find coupons for $1 off 1 Body and Face Bar and Body Wash, $3 off 2 Body and Face Bar and Body Wash, and $2 off 1 Hair Care Product.

Comment below and let us know what winter bathroom essentials for men you would add to the list.
