Cents Of Style: Life Is Tees (and a deal on them!)

Cents Of Style: Life Is Tees (and a deal on them!)

Cents Of Style provided Drugstore Divas one of these Life Is tees for this post.

life is teesOur lives have been pretty filled lately.

I work and run two blogs (this one and A Bride On A Budget). Pete works two jobs. And then on Saturdays, we wake up at 5:45 in the morning to get to the local farmers’ market to sell Pete’s homemade pasta sauce, Rita’s Wooden Spoon. That side business is really doing well, and it’s opening up a lot of possibilities for us. It’s not opening up free time, though, as we travel about an hour away often so Pete can prepare the sauce we sell.

And somehow, in the glimpses of downtime, I’ve been trying to go for daily walks, cook a homemade meal every night, and we have our Wednesday Date Nights. And, now that football season started, we host Sunday Funday in our garage-turned-home-theater every week, cooking and grilling for whoever comes over.

This is our life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our life is a fun-filled adventure without boring moments.

life is tees

Is your life an adventure? Or maybe it’s sweet? Beautiful? Grand? Tough (but so are you!)?

Whichever it is, Cents Of Style has you covered. There are five styles in the Life Is tees collection. It’s actually today’s Fashion Friday deal — and it extends through the weekend!

Use the code LIFEIS1 and pick up one of the new Life Is Tees for just $15.95 with free shipping. The code is valid today through Sunday, September 25, so hurry and scoop yours up now.

Now, personally, I have the Life Is An Adventure shirt because, well, mine is.

I love the shirt, not only for how it resonates with me, but for how soft it is. It’s fitted but relaxed, fitting like a boyfriend tee. Being 60% cotton and 40% polyester makes it so breathable and wearable.

Which of these Life Is shirts would you rock? What’s your story behind it?

Freeform’s 13 Nights Of Halloween Schedule 2016

Freeform’s 13 Nights Of Halloween Schedule 2016

Freeform (previously ABC Family) is the ultimate channel for holiday movies. The channel, which has a 25 Days of Christmas series, also shows 13 Nights Of Halloween. This year, it’s running from October 19 to 31. Now, granted, a few of the movies, like Goonies, aren’t exactly Halloween, but it’s a good start if this is your favorite season.

Also, there are a few movies missing from this year’s schedule that have been shown previously, like the entire Harry Potter series and, my personal favorite: Casper. There’s no The Hunger Games either, but I think that was a sore spot on the schedule last year anyway because those movies are not even slightly Halloween.

Check out the entire 13 Night Of Halloween schedule 2016 below. All times are EST.

Mixbook: Start Designing Holiday Cards Now (and a deal!) #spon

Mixbook: Start Designing Holiday Cards Now (and a deal!) #spon

This post was sponsored by Mixbook.

Thursday is the Autumnal Equinox marking the start of fall, which is just nuts to me. Because how is it already fall? It’s still warm enough here for shorts and yet pumpkin everything is dominating decor.

And you know what that means! Christmas is right behind! Get a head start on the hustle and bustle and let Mixbook help you create beautiful holiday cards to share with your loved ones.

I get it. Your time is valuable. Juggling work and home life makes you feel like you don’t have time to sit and design cute holiday cards. But you do have time with Mixbook’s Quick Card Editor! The process in under 10 minutes! Choose from thousands of professionally designed card themes, then personalize with your own text and images. If you happen to be someone with a little more free time and desire to be more hands on, you can start from scratch and choose from beautifully rounded trim edges, countless background designs, and matching address labels.

Prices start at just $0.69. Act fast and take advantage of a BOGO card and calendar deal. Mix and match calendars and cards to get the equal or lesser value item free with the code FALLBOGO. That offer is valid through September 30.

Personally, I’m looking at the Peaceful Holiday Greeting cards to use as ours this year. I like the Santa’s Helpers card too, but it has four cut outs and it’s just me and Pete. I wonder if anyone would notice our faces twice?

What holiday cards caught your eye?

Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Wings Recipe

Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Wings Recipe

What are you grilling this weekend? How about these tasty chicken teriyaki wings from www.drugstoredivas.net?We are so excited for football season to be back, especially now that we have a house. We turned our garage into a home theater and use a projector to stream the games on our garage wall. To make homegating even more fun, we’ll pull the grill onto the driveway, sending up signals to the neighborhood to come over and enjoy some drinks, football, and whatever crazy concoction we feel like grilling.

This Sunday, Pete wanted to make wings. He asked me what kind I wanted and I immediately picked grilled chicken teriyaki wings. I have a great homemade teriyaki marinade recipe, so that’s what we went with. The wings were so good. We made five pounds and they were gone before the afternoon games were even done. So, next time, we’ll have to make ten pounds!

But, let’s chat about these for a minute first. I went the grocery store and originally went to buy wings. Because we were making wings. Make sense. But it’s a misnomer, really. The super nice guy behind the meat counter told me you actually want to purchase drumettes (not wings, not my second choice fryer wings either).

Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Wings

What You’ll Need:

  • 5 pounds of chicken drumettes
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup lite soy sauce
  • 3 inches of ginger
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup rice vinegar
  • Pinch of black pepper

What You’ll Do:

Peel the garlic and ginger. Chop them finely, then put them in a large bowl.

Into the bowl, add the soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge, about an hour, so the flavors can meld.

Throw the drumettes into the marinade and put the bowl back in the fridge for another hour or so.

Heat up your grill and put these right on the rack, flipping often. Cook them through. We use a charcoal grill, which just gives everything such a good extra layer of flavor.

We served them off of a wire cooling rack with celery, carrots, and ranch dressing (you can choose bleu cheese too).

What’s your go-to homegating recipe?
