Food Lion: My Shopping Trip (Saved 100%)

Food Lion: My Shopping Trip (Saved 100%)

I went to Food Lion to pick up the Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers that I chatted about in this post, but had no luck.

I didn’t want it to be a wasted trip, though, so I decided to pick up my free Ball Park Franks.

I walked in, grabbed a package for $4.99, had the cashier scan my MVP card, which took off the full value, and walked out not even paying a penny.

“Enjoy your free hot dogs,” the cashier told me.

Oh yes, we will.

Tasty Thursday: Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers

Tasty Thursday: Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers

Today is not my day. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen that mentioned.

See, I went to my car to run a handful of errands. Eight, actually. I had eight places I needed to go today. I’m not exactly sure if that fits into a “handful” but that’s the number of places I had on my list. I put the car in reverse and it felt … weird. So I stopped, got out, and … I had a flat tire. Lovely.

If this was any other day, it wouldn’t have been that bad. But it was today, the day that I was due to post a review of the Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers. Platefull Co-Op had sent me a coupon for a free bag. I had looked for it at Harris Teeter recently, but couldn’t find it. Green Giant, yes. Green Giant Steamers, yes. But not Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers.

I looked at Food Lion’s website and there was actually a meal deal with Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers in April so I was confident that I would find them there.

So I walked. I didn’t have a choice. I needed these for the post and a flat tire meant I couldn’t drive there. I got there … and the store doesn’t have¬†Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers. Other Green Giant products, yes, but not the one I wanted.

Stubborness kicked in.

I decided to walk across the street to go to Piggly Wiggly. No luck. Green Giant items, yes, the one I needed, no. So I went a few stores down to Dollar General. None there either.

Walgreens was on my way home so I stopped in there too. Walgreens does have a frozen food section, but it’s filled with pizza and corn dogs. No frozen veggies.

After a two hour walking quest to find these, I couldn’t.

I’m bummed too because I really like frozen veggies. They’re a huge time saver. You just put the bag in the microwave, heat, and serve. That’s it. It’s so much easier. Driving is also a lot easier than walking everywhere too.

If I ever do find these, I’ll have to let you know how they are. Right now, I’m just convinced that they’re elusive.

Platefull Co-Op sent a coupon for these for this post. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to use it yet.

Lee: Possibly Free Jeans

Lee: Possibly Free Jeans

My goal for October is to go through my jeans and get rid of the ones that will never fit again. There are a few that I can’t even imagine I’ll ever wear again (but they’re so cute!). Sad, right? They’ll go to a new home, though, and I’ll get new jeans. Eventually.

If you need new jeans now, you’re in luck.

Right now, you can get a free pair of Riders by Lee when you get 10 friends to like the Riders by Lee Facebook page. You’ll get an email within 48 hours of getting 10 sign ups with instructions on how to get your free pair.

And, speaking of Faccebook, I started a thread in our coupon group on Facebook so you could post your link after you sign up. Hopefully we can all join together and help each other get free jeans.

*HOT* Dollar General: $2 Off $2.01+ Coupon

*HOT* Dollar General: $2 Off $2.01+ Coupon

Did you know Dollar General has digital coupons? I didn’t use them until today. What changed my mind?

Right now, if you head to Dollar General digital coupons, you can load a coupon for $2 off a $2.01+ purchase. At checkout, just enter the phone number associated with your account to get the savings. The coupon is valid until October 3.

I was talking to Pete yesterday about how little things add up, like the $5 in free Kmart money that was just given out. If you use these wisely and get stuff you need, you can definitely maximize the free money.

Thanks Moola Saving Mom.
