Bath And Body Works: Clearance Time

My mom is a teacher, which means she gets a lot of "smelly stuff," you know, lotions, candles, etc.

She's got gift cards from returns aplenty, so she'll be happy to know that Bath & Body Works is having a huge clearance sale. Christmas stuff is half off, lotions are up to 75% off, as are summer hand bag sets.

The only thing not on sale is the body shimmer, which is the only thing I wanted.

Sometimes a deal really excites me for no good reason. This is one of them. I'm incredibly excited over it. And I don't know why since I already pretty much have a pharmacy in my house.

Anyway, if you go to this link, you can print out a coupon for $1 any Excedrin. CVS has the 8-tablet bottles for 99 cents, regular price. That means you can get them for free after the coupon. You can print the coupon twice, so you're looking at two free bottles. Nice.

I took my friend to start CVSing this week, so she got the free body wash to start. But that's not all.

We scanned our cards and got a coupon for a dollar off any CVS aspirin. Well, wouldn't you know, CVS sells uncoated aspirin for 99 cents. After the coupon, it's free.

I can't remember the count offhand, but I do remember that it's 325 mg aspirin and I found it on the bottom shelf.

I hope you listened the other day when I told you to print the $1 off Tone body wash coupon because it's on sale at CVS this week [[ending 12/31/2010]]. It's $3.88 and giving back $3 in ecb, making it 88 cents. But, after the $1 coupon, it's actually a 12 cent moneymaker.

Yeah, 12 cents won't get you all that very much, but it's better than not making money. Plus, you'll also have free body wash, and that's great.

CVS: Christmas Clearance

It's the day after Christmas, which means one thing: All Christmas items are 50% off, pretty much everywhere. CVS follows a very strict schedule: 50% off the day after the holiday; 75% off the following Sunday; and 90% off the Sunday after that.

So, since the day after Christmas falls on a Sunday, well, it'll take a bit longer for everything to get to 90% off, so your chance of actually finding something great at that time, well, it's slimmer than in years past. But, even still, today's the day to go out and pick up your cards for next year because those, I've learned, are the quickest thing to go.

It's Christmas Day, which means Beth and I are taking the day off to spend with our family and friends. After all the hustle that the season has brought, it'll be incredibly nice to sit down and relax.

Rite Aid: I Went Shopping

My boyfriend is going to deliver gifts at a Childrens Hospital on Christmas Eve eve, and my mom's school is collecting for a local parish. I wanted to get something to give to one of these causes, and then I heard about a great toy deal at Rite Aid. So I swung over there with the mindset that I'd spend $10 [[sure, $10 doesn't sound like that much to some people, but I've actually given quite a bit this season as it is, so $10 was right in my budget]].

I did two transactions at Rite Aid ... and did much better than I anticipated.

Transaction 1:
3 Fishing Games -- $2.99, on sale for $2.24 = $6.72
Total $6.72, plus tax [[paid all in real money]]

I got back:
3 $2 +UP
3 $1 +UP
Total: $9 +UP

Transaction 2:
2 Fishing Games -- $2.99, on sale for $2.24 = $4.48
2 Pick up sticks -- $2.59, on sale for $1.94 = $3.88
Total: $8.36, plus tax

I used $8 in +UP from the first transaction and a little over $1 with real money.

I got:
4 $2 +UP
2 $1 +UP
Total: $10 +UP

So, I spent a bit over $8 in real money after tax and all, and I went home with $11 in +UP rewards. Plus seven toys to donate to kids who really need them.

Coupon Alert: Sears $10 Off $20

I went to Sears during the last $10 off $20 coupon sale, and it didn't go exactly as planned.

See, the item I wanted was tagged $24 on sale, but rang up $19.99, so I had to run around the store to find something else. I did, but I ended up spending double what I would have liked.

I'm willing to try again though. There's a $10 off $20 printable coupon here good for today [[December 22]] only. It's good on apparel, accessories, and more this time, so check it out. It might be worth the trip.

Wendy's is really pushing its new fries at us. There was the free fries printable and now there's the free fries promo.

Right now, if you spend $15 or more on a Wendy's gift card, you'll get a coupon for free fries. The deal is good on gift cards bought between now and December 31, and the free fries coupon is good until January 31, 2011.

The way the email reads, you actually have to buy a single gift card, not three gift cards of $5 each to qualify. But, really, I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to break it up.
