Home Made Simple: PG Coupon Booklet

Time for another great PG coupon booklet thanks to Home Made Simple. Visit here to request your PG coupon booklet. It should arrive in four to six weeks.

This is the coupon booklet that usually has the $1/1 Dawn coupon. Combine with a sale and you are looking at free Dawn!

ShopRite: I Went Shopping

I spent all day shopping. I mean all day. And nothing was easy ... except my transaction at ShopRite.

My dad already got the Whole Fruit Fruit Bars earlier this week, but I didn't realize until today that Minute Maid bars were also on sale for 88 cents -- and there was a $.75/1 coupon in the 6/27 RP that expires today [[July 31]].

So off to ShopRite I went.

I got:
4 boxes of Minute Maid fruit pops, 12 packs
4 boxes of Minute Maid frozen lemonade bars, 8 packs
Total: $7.04

Coupons:
$6 -- four $.75/1 coupons that doubled
$.75 -- one $.75/1 coupon that did not double [[ShopRite will only double four like coupons]]
Total: $6.75

My total after coupons was 29 cents. I used my own bags, so the cashier should have taken off another ten cents, making it 19 cents. But I think he was so in awe that I got eight boxes of ice pops for 29 cents that he forgot.

So I let it go. And had a raspberry frozen lemonade bar as soon as I got home.

Facebook Freebies: Bath & Body Works

My friend Amanda always has Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer in her purse. Always. I hope she reads this and heads over to Facebook to like Bath & Body Works. Don't worry I sent her an email too.

But once you "like" Bath & Body Works, you can print a coupon good for this weekend to get a free Pocketbac hand sanitizer. No purchase necessary and valid while supplies last.

Target: Toy Clearance

I needed to get my best friends daughter a gift for her 4th birthday. I don't know anything about kids and I have never even met her! She lives in Florida, I live in Pennsylvania. You get the picture.

Anyways, I went to Target and was so happily surprised. I know she likes Dora and was so happy to find great deals. Target has its toys on clearance. Up to 75% off. I was able to get the Dora doll, the cute little outfit, and some stereo and music accessory for just $9.98 total. Considering the doll was regularly priced at $19.99 that was a great deal.

There were two entire aisles of clearanced toys at my store. Check out your Target and see what great deals you can find.

Saturday Sample: Lady Speed Stick Stainguard

Japan isn't so much hot as it is humid. Like, you want to ring out the air like a sponge humid. It can be unbearable.

But I'm not complaining because one] I decided long ago that you can either complain about the heat or the cold [[and I hate the cold]]; two] because I was in Japan and I'd rather sweat in a foreign country than be comfortable at home [[plus, vacation is lovely no matter the weather]]; and three] I had Lady Speed Stick Stainguard deodorant with me [[which is this week's Saturday Sample]].

I was given two samples: Powder Fresh and Daringly Fresh. They both smell incredible. I mean, ridiculously incredible. I sat on my bed for a solid ten minutes smelling them, trying to decide which scent to use first. I had to talk myself out of the idea of using one for each pit, and ultimately went with Daringly Fresh.

You put it on and you can smell it. It's strong, but in such a light and airy way. I wanted to smell like it, so it cut perfume out of my daily routine. Which was especially nice because I couldn't fit any more into my suitcase ... unless I wanted to pay an overweight fee. So no deodorant got packed for me.

It kept me dry too. And even walking in the humidity, I wasn't worried about getting yellow pitstains on my white shirts [[which, let's face it, is a gross thing to have to worry about; life is much better spent when you don't have your hands/face stuffed into your pit like you're that chick from Saturday Night Live]].

My brother tested out the men's Stainguard. Every time he put it on, I wanted to ask if he sprayed something. You could definitely smell it [[in a nice way; much better than smelling b.o.]], which is a great way to check if your barely pubescent son put on deodorant or is lying about it.

His only complaint was that after wearing it for 24 hours [[you know: morning, flight to Tokyo, puddle jumper to Osaka, family chilling at the house to say hello, finally crashing]], it didn't really work anymore. I'm not sure the deodorant claims that it'll last a full day, but he didn't feel like it did. But, honestly, the chance of you counting on it for a solid 24 hours is slim, so don't let that deter you.

Full disclosure: I was given four deodorants for the purpose of this review. No money was exchanged for any of the comments in this Saturday Sample.

Free Sample: Axe Body Spray

If my little brother is going out, you can tell. Not because he's all tanned and gelled up like he's going fistpumping with the Jersey Shore cast. But because you can smell the body spray through the house.

That stuff, wow, it's very overpowering. Either that, or he sprays a ton of it.

If it's the latter, good thing I found a free sample for him. Head over to this link and Sam's Club members can get a free sample of Axe body spray. You need to enter your membership number to get the sample. So ask Beth. She's a member. Maybe she'll share her number.

Old Navy: I Went Shopping

I decided to take my chances and head to Old Navy after work yesterday.

The cami table was kinda wrecked.

Like our lovely reader Mamajules told me, the sale was not advertised in store at all.

The store was out of camis in my size [[XS]] in most of the fun colors: pink, blue, red. I ended up getting black, gray, white, purple, and pink in Small. The latter doesn't fit right, but I figure I can always go back to the store in a few weeks after the sale is said and done and exchange it for one that's my size.

And that's my advice to you. If you want in on the deal, but everything is too big [[or too small, as the case may be]], you can always buy them for $2 now and exchange them later on. Makes sense to me.

So my total was $10, and I paid with a $10 giftcard I got for free from Shop It To Me, so yup, five free new camis for me. Sweet.

Staples: Back In Style

I'm not exactly sure how I missed posting this all week, but I'm gonna blame it on the fact that I don't have kiddies, so I'm not paying all that very much attention to back to school deals.

Yeah, it's a cop out.

But, at any rate, this week [[ending 07/31]], if you buy a backpack at Staples, you'll get the full purchase price back in a Staples gift card.

It's part of the store's Back To School savings. Now, the sorta catch is that you have to use that gift card in Staples. Which means it's not exactly free in the sense that you'll get cash back. But it's all in how you look at it.

Blockbuster Express: Free Movie Rental

I don't watch the "classic" movies. I know I should probably be ashamed of the collection of movies I've watched versus the ones I've never seen. But I'm not ashamed. I'm actually proud of the vast array of plot lines from romantic comedies that I wish cameo'd in my real life.

I should start watching the classics, but renting movies is such an expensive thing to budget.

Well, today [[July 30]], you can rent a movie for free from Blockbuster Express. According to Red Plum, all you have to do is enter the code GT17A at checkout and you'll get a free rental.

I recommend How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, but you can rent what you want.

The Cheesecake Factory: National Cheesecake Day, Part 2

So yesterday we let you know that you could get a slice of cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory for $1.50.

Well, today [[July 30]], you can get any slice half off. Considering some slices go for $7, yesterday was a much better deal.

But, if you didn't listen to us, or didn't want to get your slice yesterday, this is the best we can offer you. And hey, some savings is better than no savings, right?

Free Sample: Better Than Ears

It's totally a first date question. Would you rather be deaf or blind?

If you're on a date, the correct response is: deaf. Followed by: I couldn't imagine a day without seeing your beautiful face.

If you're a dog, Better Than Ears expects you to choose deaf too ... if you're deciding between deaf and treatless.

How the treats really are, I'm not sure. But your puppy can find out for free. Head over to this link and you can order a free sample of a bacon-flavored treat.

I got one for my brother's dog. If I hear what he thinks, I'll let you know.

PineCone Research: Apply Now

PineCone Research is accepting applicants again. I signed up the last time but I still haven't heard back from them. I guess they didn't want me or maybe I did something wrong. Either way I want in!

Visit here to sign up. PineCone Research openings never last long so don't wait.

Old Navy: Did You Shop In Secret?

Beth let us know that Old Navy's secret sale starts today [[July 29]].

What's the secret sale?

Layering camis are $2, if you say "Cami 4 Me" or bring the printable coupon from Old Navy's Facebook page. Limit is five per customer.

I'm thinking about going after work, but I wanted to know if you've been yet. How were the lines? The selection? Were the racks manhandled [[because if they were, I don't wanna go]].

The sale goes through Saturday [[July 31]], but sooner rather than later is what I've learned with Old Navy's sales.

Coupon Alert: Nivea Body

This is a super hot coupon. If you head to this link, you can print out a coupon for $4/2 Nivea body products.

Here's the little memo: The coupon is for the "body" line, which is the lotion products. Now, technically, you can try to argue the fact that this will work for body wash, since the word body is right there. That's semantics. I'm just pointing them out.

ShopRite: Don't Sweat It

It's summer, which means you should be staying hydrated as best you can. But, I know, sometimes drinking water just gets so boring.

So why not head over to ShopRite this week [[ending 07/31]]? See, starting yesterday, ShopRite is having a four-day sale, which includes Whole Fruit Fruit Bars on sale for 88 cents.

There was a $.50/1 coupon for the bars in Sunday's inserts. After the coupon is doubled, you'll get a box for free.

There is another coupon floating around that expires on Saturday, I think from inserts at the end of June. I can't remember the date, but if you know, let us know. That means more free ice pops.

Now that's a nice way to cool down.

The Cheesecake Factory: National Cheesecake Day, Part 1

My friend, her friend, and I went down to Serendipity 3 in the City over the weekend so my friend could get frozen hot chocolate.

I got cheesecake.

It was good, but it couldn't hold and candle to The Cheesecake Factory.

Speaking of which, tomorrow [[July 30]] is National Cheesecake Day. You can celebrate it tomorrow, but today [[July 29]], you can celebrate a preview day.

"Like" The Cheesecake Factory here on Facebook. Then, you'll get a coupon to get any slice of cheesecake for $1.50, dine in only.

There will be a deal tomorrow, but it's not as good. Trust me.

And The Winner Is ...

Our Wanchai Ferry giveaway has officially ended. And we've got a winner.

Sunnie, who likes spicy vegetables and crab cheese wontons, is the winner of the food, tea, and mugs, care of MyBlogSpark.

Sunnie -- I love cheese wontons. Never had ones with crab in it though.

Thanks to everyone who entered. We've got another giveaway in the works, so get ready to try your luck there.

DSW: Shoes On Your Phone

I just signed on to our Twitter account and I saw that there was a new tweet from DSW Shoe Warehouse.

It said:
Just a few hrs left to get an exclusive DSW deal! Text DSWLUV to 78527 to receive a special offer valid instore or @ dsw.com #dsw #shoes
. So I texted. And I got a coupon code for 15% off to use online. If I wanted to go instore, I just had to show the text.

The offer is good until July 28. That's today, so you better text and get it now if you want new shoes.

Coupon Alert: Huggies Snug And Dry

It seems Huggies always has a new coupon out. Pampers should take note.

I don't print them because, as I'm pretty sure you know, I don't need diapers. But that doesn't mean you don't. And if you need them, you need diaper coupons. If you head to this link, you can print a coupon for $3 off a pack of Huggies Snug and Dry.

Rite Aid: Something To Smile About

Rite Aid has a million things going on right now. Wellness+, +UP, Single Check Rebates, sales, regular prices, on and on. It's hard to keep trakc of. I know it is. You've all told me and I've seen it myself.

My goal was to put together a comprehensive list explaining everything, but the program changed three times when I was away on vacation. When the dust settles, we'll write a tutorial.

Until then, we're gonna just try to keep bringing you Rite Aid deals.

Like this one.

Right now, if you spend $25 on oral care, you'll get a $10 giftcard. Spend $15, and you'll get a $5 card.

You have to use your wellness+ card, and this must be completed by September 25. You'll earn a giftcard by mail, and the following products are: Floss; Breath fresheners; Denture care products; Mouthwash or rinse; Toothbrushes; Dental appliances; Toothpastes; Whitening products; Toothache and gum medications.

Banana Republic: Good Deal Alert -- 40% Off

If you're on Banana Republic's email list, you should check your email right now.

I got one this morning with a code for 40% off two regular priced items, excluding shoes -- today only -- at Banana's website. It's a unique code, so I can't post it, but I won't be using mine.

So, here's the deal: First person who comments on this post and says that they want the code gets it. Post your email so I can forward it to you. -- Already gone

Delia's: Good Deal Alert -- Save 20%

Chances are you've heard me gush about Delia's in the past. I love the clothes there. And the prices seem high, but if you get stuff on sale, you're golden. Right before I left for Japan, I got a top, two tanks, and nail polish for $1 -- total [[sure, I used a coupon, but still, when do we not?]].

Between now and Friday [[July 30]], you can get 20% off at Delia's.

The discount is good online, on the phone, or in stores. Use the code DTWENTY when prompted and you're ready to save.

Oldy Navy: Secret Sale

With over 500 million people on Facebook, I don't know how Old Navy thinks they can post a sale on there and call it a secret. But the sale is so good who cares?

Old Navy's layering camis regularly priced $8.50 are on sale for just $2. Yup, two bucks. The limit is 5. The sale is in stores only from Thursday, July 29 through Saturday, July 31. Old Navy's Facebook page says you need to print this coupon. I love this sale!

Thanks to Becky who let us know that if you wanna save on ink, just say "Cami 4 Me" when you get to checkout and you'll get the low price as well.

CVS: Get Your Photo On

I have 800 photos from Japan. You know this. Beth has mentioned it once or twice.

CVS must have heard her because this week [[ending 07/31]], you can get a free 6x8 photo book.

It's $7.99 and giving back $7.99 in ecb, making it free.

The only crummy thing about it is that the limit is one. Last year, when CVS offered this deal, the limit was five. And the year before that, it was two.

This year -- the year I have 800 photos -- it's one.

One is better than none though. I just have to choose my pictures very wisely.

Urban Outfitters: Last Chance Charlie

I love shopping for clothes. Absolutely love it.

It's so corny, but I love the thrill of putting on a dress for the first time and walking around all day like you're on a runway, on display, catching yourself in every reflective surface [[mirror, window, someone's sunglasses, whatever]].

What I don't like is paying up the nose for a new outfit.

No. Thank. You.

But thanks to Urban Outfitters, you don't have to. Right now, if you head to this link, you'll see Urban Outfitter's $5 Last Chance sale items.

There are a couple tops that I'm dying to have [[like this one, which is totally perfect for summer date night]].

Stuff sells out super quick on this sale -- and I'm planning on buying a bag full -- so you better start shopping if you wanna get what you want.

Free Music: The Rocket Summer

I love music. Not in a casual teenybopper kind of way. But in a way that it pierces my soul and makes me a better person.

Once upon a time, I actually used to be the primary music writer for a newspaper. Oh what a fantastic experience that was. I got paid to find new bands, interview lead singers, go to concerts, and assess and opinionate.

So, it's with a very high recommendation that I give you The Rocket Summer. Bryce Avary, ah, he's just grown into such a great musician. He used to be very sugary and saccharine [[which I can't spell right now, but that's okay]], and he's evloved into a poignant -- but still poppy -- artist.

Don't believe me? Click here and you can check out the track I Need A Break ... but I'd Rather Have A Breakthrough for free, thanks to Walmart.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

AMC Theaters: Dollar Movie For 07/27

I just found out that AMC Theaters are having movies for a dollar every Tuesday through mid-August.

The time of the movie is at 10 am, which means that if you're looking for a cheap date, this isn't for you. But, if you're looking for a cheap place to take your kids, unemployed friends, whoever, this might be great. Also, all the movies are rated-PG, which really is good for those kiddies you might have, babysit, or stole.

So, every Tuesday we'll post the movie. You decide if you wanna go.

For today [[July 27]], the movie is Kung Fu Panda. It's actually a pretty fantastic movie. Definitely go if you can. Or rent it later. It's that good.

Gap: Good Deal Alert -- 30% Off

If you've got a bit of spare cash on your hands, head over to some of the Gap family store websites [[you know: Gap, Banana Republic, or Old Navy]]. You can get 30% off -- online only -- through today [[July 27]] and free shipping on orders over $100.

Happy shopping.

CVS: Free For U

I've mentioned before that neither Beth nor I are a fan of the new U by Kotex line.

But, see, I'm even less of a fan of paying for feminine products. I haven't since, um, 2006. And I'm not about to start now.

So you can put your best bet on the fact that I'll be stopping by CVS this week [[ending 07/31]].

U by Kotex products are on sale for $4.99 and giving back $4.99 in ecb, making them free. But if you head over to this link, you can print out a $1/1 coupon [[you can actually print two, since it's a Bricks coupon]]. Use that coupon, and you're looking at a moneymaker.

I can't turn that down, regardless of how much I don't like the line.

Coupon Alert: Biotrue Contact Solution

Super huge thank you to Sean at Free Snatcher for emailing me to let me know that this coupon reset.

What coupon, you ask.

If you head over to this link, you can print out a coupon for $2 off a Biotrue Contact Solution 2 oz package.

Well, those packs are $2.99 at CVS this month [[ending 07/31]] and giving back $2.99 in ecb. After this coupon, they're free.

This coupon was available once upon a time, but it was out of prints. So definitely print this one now and run to CVS.

Rite Aid: August Video Values Coupons

It's not quite August yet, but Rite Aid is rushing us through the summer.

I'm not a fan of that. I only went on one vacation this summer. And I still don't have a tan.

Sigh.

At any rate, a new month means new Video Value coupons. Head over to this link to print them out.

But what's "them" you ask? Here's a list:

CVS: Check Your Email

My grandma is still in Japan, so I'm back to babysitting her CVS card for her. I'm also checking her email because one] she gets emails from CVS and two] I don't even know if she remembers she has an email account.

I just looked at her account now, and I saw that she had an email from CVS, offering her a $5/$25 coupon, good til tomorrow [[07/25]].

Beth is putting together a great list for us of weekly matchups. So you know I'll be checking her list out tomorrow to see how I can maximize this coupon.

You can check it out tomorrow too. And you should definitely check your email. Who knows if you've got something good waiting for you.

Walgreens: Secret Savings

Visit here to sign up for Walgreens secret savings. I saw it on Walgreens Facebook page. All I know is you need to sign up before July 27th.

They will email you the secret savings. Can't hurt right?

Saturday Sample: Febreze Home Collection

I really wanted to try the Febreze Flameless Luminary. It was a silly want, depending on who is overanalyzing my desires, but it was something I wanted to do nonetheless.

Normal people, when they want to try something, with go to the store and buy it.

I'm a couponer. It's not that I'm not "normal," it's just that I can't imagine paying for anything that's not either one] completely necessary; two] completely fantastic; or three] unavoidable.

The water bill falls into category three [[don't pay and it's off]]. A gift you see for someone on their birthday-day that you know with melt them falls into category two [[no time to wait for a sale]]. And I'm not exactly sure what falls into the first category, but I'm sure there's something.

The Flameless Luminary doesn't fall into any of those categories. So I waited and waited for a free deal. I didn't find one -- until MyBlogSpark contacted me to see if I wanted to try it out.

You bet I said yes.

I got a kit in the mail that contained a starter kit and two refill kits. You open the starter kit [[which is basically a base and a pyramid-shaped lightbulb]] and put a shade on top. The fragrance is in the shade. The light doesn't bring out the scent, but it does illuminate the images on the shade. After four hours, the light will automatically turn itself off. If you get tired of it before then, you can turn it off yourself.

The scent isn't overwhelming, but it's pretty nice. That's similar to what my brother said of the Febreze No-Spill Wood Diffuser [[he happened to be over when I got the pack and begged and pleaded -- okay, asked nicely -- if he could sample the diffuser]]. The diffuser is basically a glass bottom with a large tubular stick. It absorbs the scented liquid in the glass, then spreads it around the room by soaking through the wooden piece on top. Got that?

I let my brother try it, and he said: "The Febreze is just eh. The smell is alright not overwhelmingly strong. But it's ugly as hell. Not decorative at all really. Very cool concept that I think, if designed more artistically, would be nice. But as it is, I would much much rather a candle."

So, there you have it. Have you tried these products? What did you think?

Full disclosure: Febreze, in conjunction with MyBlogSpark, provided me with the Febreze No-Spill Solution Kit. All thoughts are mine and my brother's.

The Limited: Fashion Cash

Oooh I am so mad! I went to the Shoppes at Montage yesterday. Its about 15 minutes from my house. The Viemont Mall is about another 15 minutes away. I was going to go there since The Limited store there is so much better than mine. But I didn't!!

And now I find out they are giving $10 in Fashion Cash. Just stop by The Limited between now and Sunday, July 25th and get your $10 to spend too!

Old Navy: Back to School Sale

Now through Sunday July 25, Old Navy is offering 25% off to all teachers, college and high school students. You will need to show your school ID. We never had ID in high school so I wonder if they would take your report card? Either way 25% off is a great deal.

Old Navy has kids polo tops for just $5 and school pants for only $10. This weekend is a great time to get a head start on back to school shopping.

Lisa finally caved and got her own Facebook page. Just in time too! Now if you log into your Facebook and visit Philosophy's page, you can request your own free sample of their Purity facial cleansing cloths.

Kmart Doubles

Seems Kmart is not listening to us when it comes to double coupons. Double coupons start July 25th. This time, they are only doubling coupons up to $.99. Limit is 5 again with your Kmart Shop Your Way Card.

But the good news is it is not limited to health and beauty this time. All coupons are included. I think I will skip this though. Kmart's prices are so high, I can't imagine what I can get for free with $.99 coupons. Let us know if you go.

Free Sample: Burts Bees

Lisa likes Burt's Bees products a lot. I think they are one of those things that you either really really like or just are not that big of a fan. I think I haven't used them enough to be a big fan. I like what they stand for being all natural and earth friendly but I don't have an opinion about the products.

But now I am getting a free sample of Burt's Bees all natural toothpaste too try. You can get one too by visiting here. If you have already received this free sample, you can get a $1 off coupon. I never see coupons for these so this is a great offer.

Coupon Alert: Planter's Flavor Grove Almonds

Where I used to live in Pennsylvania, that's where Mr. Peanut was born. Seriously. He was plastered on the side of a building ... and then got torn down. Eh, you've gotta move on, right?

He's moving on -- and creating new Flavor Grove Almonds. Every other Wednesday through August, you can head to Mr. Peanut's Facebook page to get a coupon for them.

Don't worry; we'll keep reminding you.

Cookies By Design: Free Flip Flop Cookie [[07/21]]

When I was in Japan, everyone had nice shoes. Everyone wore strappy sandles and uber-nice heels.

I couldn't stop looking at people's feet. Yup, I had shoe envy.

Which is why I came home with gladiator sandles and heels.

No one wore sneakers and no one wore flips flops [[except me]].

So, this freebie would get lost on them. But not us Americans.

Today [[July 21]], if you head over to your local Cookies By Design store, you can get a free flip flop cookie. The cookies in the image look adorable, if not tasty.

There's not one by me, but if there's one by you, you should get over there and celebrate the one-month anniversary of summer starting.
