CVS Sickness

My aunt has been going crazy for CVS nuts [[yes, I avoided saying, "She's going nuts," to spare the bad writing]]. She's gone out every day to get them -- except Friday. Why? Because she spent all day throwing up.

Salmonella? Hopefully not because I picked up a couple more bags myself.

This was broken down into two trips, but it's a lot easier to post it as one. So, here's what my quick CVS runs looked like:

DayQuil -- $4.99 [[$1 CVS coupon and $1.50 manu. coupon]] = $2.49
NyQuil -- $4.99 [[$1 CVS coupon and $1.50 manu. coupon]] = $2.49
Cashews = 79 cents
Cashews = 79 cents [[$2/2 coupon]] = 42 cents overage
Kashi protein bar -- on clearance = 42 cents [[for the nuts overage]]
True North nuts -- on clearance = $1.75
J&J gauze pads -- $4.99
J&J first aid kit -- 99 cents [[$3/2 blinkie coupon] = $2.98 for the two items above
J&J gauze pads -- $4.99
J&J first aid kit -- 99 cents [[$3/2 blinkie coupon] = $2.98 for the two items above
Total before coupons: $25.69
Total after coupons: $12.69

Paid with ecb.
Got back $5 for the Day/NyQuil; $6 for the J&J = $11.

So I spent $1.69 in my ecb, but if you've ever had the True North nuts, you know they're worth it.

Sweet As Pie

Baking is great, but people don't do it that often because it can become pretty time consuming. That's why half-scratch recipes are so popular. Part of the recipe is homemade and part, well, isn't. If you don't mind serving up store-bought pie crust, then head over to Meijer.

Pillsbury Pie Crust
[[two per package]] is on a price drop for 50 cents each [[so that's a quarter a crust]]. There is a $.50/2 manufacturer coupon out there that will double to $1/2, making these free. It gets even better though. If you buy four packages, it's rumored that a $2 oyno catalina will print, making these a money maker.

I'm not a Meijer shopper, but I do know that the company's policy is to only double two coupons, so if you want some more bring a buddy or walk your first few out to the car and then check out through another line.

Nice Butt

My cousin just got a job at Express for Women. It's kind of random since my cousin is a guy. But, he has no problem [[un]]dressing women. I wonder if he'd have a problem ringing up my undergarment though.

Express emailed a printable coupon for a free Essential Cotton Panty in solid white, black, body beige, and pale pink styles only. There's no purchase necessary, which means I'm absolutely getting a pair. The coupon is valid through March 1, while supplies last. And if you see my cousin, tell him I say hi.

If there isn't an Express by you, fret not. Just go to the store's Web site, pick what you want, and then checkout with the code 2737, and your free intimate will be on its way.

Good NyQuil

I can't take NyQuil without it wiping me out for three days. Sometimes that's what you want when you're sick, but mostly, you just want to get better.

If you can take NyQuil -- or DayQuil even -- I've got a deal for you.

Backtrack for just one second.

If you sign up at cvs.com, you can get emails with coupons sent to you. So, assuming you've already done this, there was a coupon that came earlier in the week for $1 off a cold or allergy purchase of $3. NyQuil and DayQuil are $4.99 and you get back $5 wyb two. There were $1.50 coupons in the most recent two P&G inserts.

So, you're looking at two transactions [[because the CVS coupon can only be used once per transaction]] of this: $4.99 NyQuil/DayQuil minus $1 CVS coupon and $1.50 manu. coupon equals $2.49. Do this twice to spend $4.98 and get back $5.

Looks good for those people who need to sleep better at night.

Saturday Sample: Oral B Advantage Floss Picks

I was never a fan of floss. It would make my gums bleed. And no matter how much my hygienist tried to warn me about gingivitis, I couldn't bring myself to floss.

And then a few months ago, Oral B Advantage Floss Picks were on sale for free at CVS.

I looked at the package in the store, and it was a show down. "I need these to complete my deals," I thought, "But I don't floss. I don't like floss. I don't have anyone to gift these floss picks to."

The deal won out and I bought them, stuffing them into a drawer for a few days until I realized that another deal would work out great if only I could bring myself to buy another pack of floss picks. I figured if I was going to, I would have to try them.

I opened the pack and stared at the blue piece of plastic. It was me against it. And you know who won ... my hygienist.

It was so easy to floss with these. I wasn't sticking my entire hand in my mouth like I tended to do when I was using actual floss. And the little pick is so pliable and flexible, it wasn't still and scary. And it fit in my mouth. It wasn't some contraption I had to manipulate.

And the actual string of floss is usually enough to clean all my teeth. Sometimes I really go at it and the floss breaks off the pick, but usually, it's pretty sturdy.

So now, I've joined the legions of flossers. Thank goodness I worked three packs into my past deals. That should last me a couple of months. But if I actually pay money for these, then I've really become a member of the floss club.

Rite Aid Shopping

The $5 off coupon was burning a hole in my pocket, so I ran out to do a little damage at Rite Aid. Keep in mind, my mom and I were hungry when we were out, so snacks were definitely on the shopping list.

I bought:
Dr Pepper -- $1.49 [[$1.49 free coupon]] = free
Dr Pepper -- $1.49 [[$1.49 free coupon]] = free
Valentine's cookie -- on sale from $1.00 [[the sign said 75% off, so they should have been 25 cents, but I'm not complaining; it wasn't Stop and Shop]] = 50 cents
Valentine's cookie -- on sale from $1.00 = 50 cents
Valentine's cookie -- on sale from $1.00 = 50 cents
Combos -- on sale from $2.19 = 99 cents
Combos -- on sale from $2.19 = 99 cents
Garnier Fructis -- $2.99 [[$1 manu. coupon]] = $1.99
Zilctin -- $4.99
10 SoyJoy bars -- $5 [[$2 manu. coupon]] = $3.00
Hershey's boxed heart -- on sale from $4.99 = $1.24
Wrigley's Juicy Fruit -- BOGO sale = $1.29 [[$1.29 coupon from 02/22 SS]] = free
Wrigley's Juicy Fruit -- BOGO sale = free
$5/$20 coupon

Total after sales and coupons [[plus tax]] = $10.20

I'll get back in rebates = $2.99 from the Garnier; $4.99 for the Zilactin; and $5 for the SoyJoy = $12.98

So I made $2.78 and got all my snacks for free. Not bad.

No Hassle Shopping

If you're like me, when you're at a supermarket and something rings up the wrong price, you pretty much make a fit about it until it’s the price marked or its free. At Stop and Shop and Giant [[since they're sister stores]] you won’t have to throw a fit because with the company's no hassle program, the front-end main cashier should automatically give it to you for free.

Since I work at a local Stop and Shop, I know personally that this doesn’t always work out that way. Usually the main cashier or customer service person just gives you the price adjustment for the product. Next time your item rings up wrong and the cashier tries to just put it in for the sale price, I would mention “Aren’t things that ring up wrong suppose to be free?” since you're totally armed with this knowledge now. The cashier will moan but you will get it for nothing.

Triple Love For A&P

My dad used to work at A&P when he was a kid. I didn't know him then -- obviously -- but A&P has always had a soft spot in my heart because of that. But, in my adult life, I've never once stepped into an A&P.

That's all going to change today.

A&P is having four days of triples -- coupons up to 99 cents -- until March 2. You better believe Mallory and I are heading down there armed with coupons. We'll bring a camera and will post the insanity when we get back. Our goal is $75 worth of stuff for $10. You'll see how we did later.

Happy Birthday Beth

I'm not the kind of girl who spreads peoples ages, so if you want to know how old Beth is turning today, you're gonna have to ask her yourself. I will tell you though that today is her birthday! Happy Birthday Beth!

Shiny New Store

If you live in Visalia, California, you're going to be pretty happy on Saturday -- and I don't mean just because the weather is gonna be 73 degrees. It's because you're getting a new CVS.

It's opening, from what I understand, on Demaree and Goshen. I was gonna Google Earth that to actually locate it for you, but I figured I'd be of little help all the way on this other coast.

What I did find out, though, is that the first 500 customers get a $10 gift card. Do you know how much you can get with that gift card? Enough stuff that you better set your alarm, that's for sure.

Balance Beam

The days of me having to drink Ensure are far, far, far away, but I have a grandma, so stumbling over a deal for Walgreens' Balanced Nutritional Drinks isn't too boring.

The six-packs -- in chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry -- are on sale this week [[ending 02/28]] for $4. There's an esr for $4, so they're free.

Just be careful about which ones you pick up. There is a "plus" variety that is $6.99, so that's not free.

Where Did Johnny Go

I have no idea what Johnny's Toys is, and I also have no idea if anyone got my Hanson reference. But sometimes you just have to hope things make sense and move right along.

So, with that preface, Johnny's Toys [[apparently Greater Cincinatti's original toy store]] is giving away a free package of Pampers as a "Welcome to the Johnny's Toys family" to your new little one. Just fill out the registration and you'll be emailed a coupon. The only requirement is that you live in the Greater Cincy area since you have to bring the coupon in to the store with you. But hey, for you Buckeyes, it's a great freebie.

Healthy Women

I'm not 30 -- or anywhere relatively close -- but I know someone who is turning the Big 3-0 very soon. So, in honor of that, I give her a present of a free magazine for women 30 and over.

RewardsGold -- a totally legitimate site that offers free magazine subscriptions more frequently than I can keep up my reading -- is giving out a free subscription to Women's Health to women ages 30 to 44. All the ladies have to do is answer a fill-in-the-blank about their favorite snack food and tell one friend about RewardsGold. We've already told you about the site before, so it shouldn't be hard for you to find one buddy to email.

Freebie Friday: The Beginning

Lately I've been finding a whole bunch of freebies online! They're completely free, without even as much as shipping charges. So Lisa gave me the bright idea to start Freebie Friday. However many I can find during the week will be posted each Friday -- but it'll never be less than three.

So, for the inaugural week, here's what I found:

One] National Wildlife Federation wants Americans to protect wildlife for our childrens' future. Great. But what about your future? How about spending it on a brand new free travel pillow. As long as you fill out the two question survey here, you'll get one.

Two] I'm not sure how many people have regular 35mm cameras anymore but pixustudio is giving away a FREE lens cap keeper. What the heck, it's free if you go here. Maybe you'll stumble over someone who needs this.

Three] Need business cards? How about to support Drugstore Divas? That's what we've done. Lisa and Beth have finished theirs, and I'm almost done making some business cards to promote this site around my campus -- and I found a site that is giving away 100 custom-made business cards. You do need a credit card but that is only so the company can prevent fraud. Go here to get your free cards.

Four] Glade has an escape from winter gift pack offer -- and don't we all need to get out of the snow. The first 10,000 registrants will receive a Glade PlugIns Scented Oil warmer, a refill pack in Hawaiian Breeze and a coupon. http://www.rightathome.com/offers/200902-GiftPack/.

Cheap Rite Aid Goods

Forgive my lack of witticisms, but I just read a story about a lady who traded two kids for a bird and $175. People are great.

Rite Aid is great too, since they're putting out another $5 off coupon for Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28. It's a $5/$20, like we've gotten the last few weeks. Print it out from here, take it to the store, and make a little money off this week's frees. Don't forget about those. There's Zilactin for $4.99; SoyJoy for $5 for 10 bars; and Garnier for $2.99 [[with a $1 printable coupon over there on the right, so you're actually making a dollar]]. Also, Wrigley's gum is BOGO. Pair that with the free Wrigley's coupon in Sunday's paper, and you've got yourself two packs for free.

Sausage Fest

I'm gonna keep this post simple, lest I end up typing something accidentally inappropriate.

Johnsonville products -- brats, polish and smoked sausage -- are on sale at Jewel-Osco for $2.50 each. There's a printable coupon here for $5/3, making it $2.50 for three products. Sounds like an excellent deal to me. Too bad there aren't any Jewels at all around here.

The sale is good through March 4, but the coupon expires on February 28, so you better hurry.

Get Crafty

Crafts aren't just for kids. They're also for preschool teachers, people who need to make a gift on a budget, those of us with tons of free time, actual artists, and people who are really, really in love and make each other something special to celebrate every single anniversary possible.

So, assuming you fit into one of those categories, you'll be stoked to find out that A.C. Moore has printable coupons in addition to the ones you find in the paper.

Usually, A.C. Moore will post a generic 40% off coupon, but they've upped the ante and have eight coupons for you to use. The only thing is, we got this info a little late and one coupon already expired. But hey, if you go here, you'll still have seven coupons to use. And seven is a very lucky number.

CVS: Ad Scan For The Week Of 03/15

We are absolutely fortunate to have stumbled over the ad scan for CVS for the week of 03/15 to 03/21. Yeah, you read that right. That's March 15. Thanks so very much to mommy2matty for the ad scan found here.

For those of you too lazy to click the link above, there are two frees that week. Irish Spring Body Wash [[15 to 18 oz.]] is $4.99 with $4.99 back, limit 1. Colgate Max White toothpaste or toothbrush is $1.99 with $2.99 back, also limit 1.

These are only free during a three-day sale on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday [[March 15, 16, and 17]] so don't drag your feet that week.

Foil Your Plans

I'm slightly lacking foil jokes. There are puns to make pertaining to fencing, but, let's face it: How many people would appreciate a play on words dealing with a sabre and an epee?

I'm mean, honestly: A sabre and an epee walk onto a mat. The sabre gets a black card and says, "I hope your next opponent is harder than getting Walgreen's free foil."

Who is that funny to, besides people who actually know a little bit of fencing terminology. You'd think more people would be super into a sport that is described on Wikipedia as " ... is the sport of armed combat involving cutting, stabbing, or slapping bludgeoning weapons directly manipulated by hand ... " But, clearly, the only sport fencing is better than is curling.

With that all being said, you can get free Reynold's Wrap foil at Walgreens this week. The 20-foot rolls are on sale for 89 cents, and there was a $1 off any coupon in the 02/08 SS. The coupons exclude the 25-foot rolls, but say nothing about the smaller 20-foot ones, so you can get free foil without the coupon beeping. Just don't try to make armor out of it. It probably won't work.

Octomama

Squid Soap might seriously be the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. It's a regular hand soap with a bump, but has a fantastic octopus around it, luring kids in to wash their hands with its eight tentacles.

I can't get over how adorable it is.

But when you use it, it's even better. When kids pump, it puts an "ink mark" on the kids' hands, and they have to keep scrubbing until the mark is gone -- assuring clean hands.

Again, adorable.

But the price is even better. Right now, it's on clearance at CVS for $1. There was a $2/any Airborne product coupon in the 01/04 SS, so if you can find two of these, use that coupon and get them both for free. If you only find one, the coupon will have to be adjusted down, but you'll still get the soap for free.

And if you have no children, or no idea who wants squid anywhere but in their sushi, I'll give you my address.

Small CVS Run

I've taken tons of people CVS shopping with me, but for those of you who exist only in the Internet, you've asked what does a CVS trip look like. Well, some trips are huge and the haul is incredible. Others are small. And I think those are easier to grasp. So, since Beth and I love you so dearly, we're going to start posting pictures of some of our trips because, as the cliche goes, seeing is believing.

So here is a small trip to CVS:

I bought:
Renuzit Tri Scent starter kit -- $5.49 [[$4 manu. coupon]] = $1.49 w/$2 ecb back
Renuzit Tri Scent refill pack -- $5.49 [[$4 manu. coupon]] = $1.49 w/$2 ecb back
CVS 25 count cotton rounds -- 99 cents [[$1 RIB coupon]] = free
CVS 25 count cotton rounds -- 99 cents; $2 back for buying two
Two packs of Gold Emblem almonds -- 99 cents [[$2/2 scanner coupon]]]
Card for my brother -- 99 cents
Total: $15.93 minus $11 in coupons = $4.93

I paid entirely in ecb and got back $6. Also, with that card, I was pushed over the $25 threshold and earned my free Hallmark song card.

Rite Aid Run

I love getting paid to shop. Hopefully, you can get in on some of this week's deals at Rite Aid. Don't forget, for a small fee one of the Divas will help you to make a shopping list for yourself. It is worth it until you can get the hang of putting together your own deals. Shameless plug over.

I had been waiting for these baskets to go on sale from $9.99. They were 50% off this week. Really nice and a great place for my extra coupon supplies. SoyJoys are not the best energy bar, but my husband will eat anything and they were free! The picture is missing the Fig Newtons, cause they have been eaten and my mom took the hair clips before I could snap a shot of them. Otherwise it is nice to see what people get in a 10 minute Rite Aid Run.

Here is what I bought:
3 pc Basket set - $4.99
Garnier Flowing Waves Conditioner - $2.99
Zilactin Mouth Gel - $4.99
10 Soy Joy Bars - $5.00
Fig Newtons - $1.25 (on sale)
Hair Clips - needed a cheap filler - $1
Total - $20.22
- $1 Garnier q from "printable coupons" on the right side of this blog
- $3 off $10 Soy Joy q
- $5 off $10 Rite Aid q
Total = $11.70

I will get back $12.98 in SCRs - $5 Soy Joy, $4.99 Zilactin, $2.99 Garnier.
In the end, they paid me $1.78 to buy all this stuff.

Three For One

My friend texted me in a panic the other day. "Where can I get cheap candles?" She wrote. I responded quickly, "In my closet."

I have a stockpile of everything, and pretty smelling things are not left out. I got to add a bit more to that pile thanks to CVS this week. Renuzit Tri Scents -- both the starter kits and the refills -- are on sale for $5.49. There was a $4 coupon in Sunday's SS, making the price $1.49. Then, you get back $2 in ecb, so you're making 51 cents. Not to mention you'll have a great gift for someone who wants a fresh smelling home.

Referral Wednesday: Ebates

Last Referral Wednesday we told you about how awesome BigCrumbs is since you could shop online and get a percentage of your spending back in cash.

We've got another very similar site for you this week called Ebates. What's great about Ebates is that if you use our link to sign up, you automatically earn $5 straight off the bat [[you get squat if you just sign up without a referral, so, you know what your best bet is. Yup, click that link]].

Ebates will give you a percentage of your spending back at stores like e.l.f. cosmetics and Magazines.com [[you get 26% back from that site!]].

Ebates also has some great coupons you can use that are exclusive to the site [[like the B2G1 used CDs coupon for fye.com]]. Go, sign up, shop online, and start saving.

Bye Bye EasySaver

There have been rumors for a while that Walgreens was moving the way of CVS, with a customer loyalty card and limits on its sale items. Along with that was also the idea that the EasySaver Catalog and rebates would soon become something old couponers told new ones about.

I emailed Walgreens to find out of there was any truth to all this, and, well, you die-hard Wags rebaters are not gonna be happy.
Thank you for contacting us regarding our recent decision to evaluate the EasySaver program in its current form. Walgreens is always looking into the future. For this reason, we are looking
at ways to revamp the rebate program to assist us in proceeding in an exciting direction. Although change is always intimidating we feel that it is time to develop a new loyalty program so we can offer our consumers new and improved services. You will continue to find the EasySaver Catalog in our stores through April. Please look for future advertisement regarding our new programs to come.

We appreciate your patience during this transition and hope you will allow us the opportunity to continue servicing your drug store needs.

Thank you,

Lisa Rainwater
Supervisor
Rebate and Vendor Programs

I'd much prefer a loyalty card program ... but I do like getting a check in the mail every month.

Dinner's On Arby's

Mallory so facetiously mentioned that if we could only find a dinner deal, our West Coast buddies would eat every meal for free today. Well, wouldn't you know it, I found you Lefters a free dinner.

Arby's put out a printable coupon here today for a free Roast Burger with any drink purchase. This coupon doesn't expire until March 9, but hey, use it today and all your meals have been on us. You're welcome.

Kmart Doubles Take Two

I had not been to Kmart in years ... until they started the double coupons. Now I have been to two different Kmarts in three days. I was a little upset most of the cat food was gone and no Glade carpet freshener. But once you see what else I got, you will see why I am still so excited! I am not sure I will make it again this week, but there is still a stack of coupons burning a hole in my pocket. And I got a $.75 off Purina Whisker Lickin' treats catalina today.

I split my cart into two transactions. There were lots of people shopping but no one in line so I was not holding anyone up. The Pounce cat treats were $1.08 since the coupon was $1.50 off 2. It did not double since it was off 2.

And just a little note, I broke the trips up because you can only double four of each coupon, so to get that many Rolaids, Vaseline, and Visine, I had to break up the trips.

Nuts For Coupons

If you're lucky to have a scanner in your CVS, you know all about the two generic CVS coupons that spit out every week. Last week, I'd get coupons for $2 off a $10 CVS brand purchase and, seriously, some coupon that was so unbeneficial I didn't even commit it to memory.

This week, though, I'm stopping into CVS every day to scan my card. There's a boring scanner coupon -- $1/3 CVS toothbrushes -- and a thrilling one -- $2/2 Gold Emblem nuts. The latter doesn't specify anything about size, so you can get two free 99 cent bags [[check by the registers]].

I found bags of almonds and cashews last night when my mom and I went CVSing, but I believe there are also bags of peanuts out there. If all else fails, there are chocolate-covered peanuts mixed in with the other Gold Emblem candy bags. Since they're technically some form of nut, they might count. Check with your cashier first.

I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

If you're a normal girl like me, you love sunglasses. It comes to the point with me that I don't even care if they block the sun -- if they look good I'm getting them. I usually have a $10 limit from Walmart to get a new pair each season -- or sometimes two each season.

Here's a way for me to get some without really hurting that budget: I received an email the other day about Alterna Eyewear. The company is giving away up to four pairs of sunglasses for free. Of course, there is a small catch: For each pair you order, you have to pay the shipping fee -- which is $17 each. Okay, so its over my $10 Walmart limit, but I might actually get a pair. They look cute and they might actually block the sun while I'm driving.

If you order four or more pairs, you can also order a free watch [[but, of course, you still have to pay the shipping on that too]].

Soft As Cotton

There's a deal at CVS that seems like a bother: Buy two nail care items, get $2 in ecb. I guess it doesn't sound like a pain when it's typed out, but in general, it's not a money maker. Nail polish remover and cotton balls are $1.99 each.

But there's a loophole.

CVS 25 count cotton rounds are working for the deal [[they're up in that beautiful picture I took. Be in awe on my skills]]. They're found in the trial section, and they're only 99 cents a piece. After the $2 ecb, you're actually making a penny. But, even better, if you have the Reinventing Beauty magazine, there was a $1 off any CVS skin care item coupon. It works for the cotton rounds. One per transaction, though. So, if you break this up and use two coupons, it's a free two bucks.

The deal is a limit of five [[so 10 items]] and goes for the entire month, so you have a bit of time to max out this deal.

Curly Cues

Celebrities get great curly hair because they have professional stylists. You can get great curly hair by snatching up some free Garnier Wonder Waves shampoo or conditioner for free at Rite Aid this week.

It's actually better than free. It's $2.99 with a scr of $2.99 -- but, if you head over to "printable coupons" over there on the right side, there's a $1 off any Garnier coupon just waiting for you to print it out. Look at that. You just got a new bottle of shampoo, great curly hair, and an extra dollar.

Target Trial Size

Target has a great trial size section. Who needs those little purse or pocket sized items right? What if you can get many of them for free! I knew that would get your attention.

Here are some of the items to look for at Target for free after coupons. Just make sure your coupon does not say excluding trial sizes. If the coupon amount is more than the item, your store will probably adjust the coupon to the price of the item.

Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kits - $.99 {$1 manu. coupon}
SatinCare Shave Gel - $.99 {$1 off P&G manu. coupon}
Bausch and Lomb Soothe eye drops ($2 manu. coupon)
Suave Lotion - $.99 {$1 off manu. coupon}
Head & Shoulders Shampoo/Conditioner - $.99 {$1 P&G manu. coupon}
Caress Body Wash - $.99 {$1 manu. coupon}
Dove Body Wash - $.99 {$1.50 off coupon - click on printable coupons on the right}
Band-Aid kids theme band-aids - $.99 {$1 manu. coupon}
Almay Make-up Remover - $.99 {$1 manu. coupon}
K-Y Lubricant - $2.47 {$3 manu. coupon}
Tylenol - $.99 {$1 off printable coupon} - Thanks to Lisa for this find.

Check out your Target stores and share your great finds with us!

Call Me In The Morning

There have been about a thousand deals for Bayer aspirin this month -- and more to come -- but I have a friend who can't take Bayer, so she's looking for Tylenol.

Look no more.

Well, maybe keep looking, but keep this in mind. If you go to Tylenol's official Web site, you can print $1/any coupons. Then, take that to Target's trial section and Tylenol is only 97 cents, so it's free.

That should be enough to hold my buddy off until the next big Tylenol deal rolls around.

Mmm Toasty

Quiznos is a thousand times better than Subway will ever be.

Argument One: Subway needed some fat guy turned skinny to prove it has a marketable product; Quiznos just needs to show off its goods.

Argument Two: Subway is proud to be charging five dollars for a footlong; Quiznos is giving free subs away.

Argument Th ... Oh, you don't want another fact? You just want your free sub? That's doable. Head over to millionsubs.com/, submit then verify your email address, and you'll get a coupon for a free small signature sub or small every day value sub. The coupon is good for five days, so get it today and it'll expire on Saturday.

Free food
is toasty.

Who Doesn't Love Free Food?

If you live on the West Coast or in a couple southern states Tuesday is your lucky day! After heading out to IHOP in the morning for free pancakes, you should drive over to Jack In The Box for free lunch. On Tuesday, Jack In The Box is giving away two free tacos but you MUST have the coupon [[printable version here]].

Now we just have to find a place that is giving away free dinner and our West Coast friends won’t have to cook on Tuesday!

Another freebies this week is Bath and Body’s Signature Shower Gel with a $10.50 purchase. Just check out this link here. You should pick some up -- just so you don't smell like fast food grease all day.

National Pancake Day

According to IHOP, February 24 is National Pancake Day. Who knew there was a National Pancake Day? In order to help you celebrate, IHOP is giving you a free shortstack (3 pancakes) of their famous buttermilk pancakes. Go to your local IHOP on February 24 from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.

They do ask you to consider making a donation to the Children's Miracle Network. You don't have to but for pancakes smothered in syrup and butter and a good cause you can't beat this deal.

New Little One

Over the weekend, I found out that my cousin was pregnant, so that means there is going to be a baby shower in my relatively near future. I have a free card, but my baby gift stockpile is slightly non-existent since our faithful reader Mia had her beautiful son last month.

I need to bulk up on my baby stuff, and what better way to than with an adorable free baby blanket that comes with a stuffed animal from OneStep Babies. You can choose from lamb, bear, or pig. Typing it out like that sounds like I'm reading the menu at a Brazilian Steakhouse. The blankets are much cuter than cuts of meat.

Log on to the OneStep site here and fill in your address. The site doesn't ask for credit card info, which is always a plus for me. Just note that you have to verify your email before the blanket and stuffed animal will be sent. Not too bad for something that looks sweet.

There are a limited amount of freebies, and the promo only goes until March 15. So hurry up. If you don't have any pregnant friends right now, just get the lamb and save it for later.

Beth's Kmart Doubles Trip

This was my fourth Kmart doubles trip since they started these last December. Today was all about my pets! I got some great deals on cat food and dog treats. The cat food bags all had a free can of Fancy Feast wet food inside.

I went about an hour after they opened. I was in and out in 25 minutes. There were only about six other shoppers this morning. No lines at the register so I was able to do two separate transactions without holding anyone else up.

And be sure to print out the $5 off $50 from Lisa's post. I forgot mine but still made out really well.

I still have a stack of coupons to use so I will be going back! My store was actually pretty well stocked compared to the last couple times I was there.

Lisa's Kmart Doubles Trip

I finally broke down and went to Kmart for doubles. I had been on a Kmart boycott since Halloween of 2007. If you want to know why, send me an email. It's a long story.

But, I ended my boycott because my doubles curiosity got the best of me.

You really do have to watch your cashier closely. When s/he scans a coupon, a prompt pops up, asking which product was purchased [[assuming you have multiple products from the same family, ie. P&G]]. If your cashier picks the wrong product, well, you lose out. Ugh. My cashier picked wrong on one of my items, so I ended up paying $1.29 more than I should have ... but I wasn't going to go over to customer service over that [[since CS started by boycott in the first place]].

Anyway, I ended up with $52.11 worth of stuff for $2.94, which I put on a gift card I got for signing up for a Sears email list, so actually, it was nothing out of my pocket. Still, more than $50 worth of stuff for less than $3 is great, but for less than $2 would have been savings out 97 percent!

So, here's what I did:
La Cross Tweezers -- $3.49 ($2 peelie) = free
Vaseline Intensive Care -- $3.29 ($1.50 manu. coupon) = $.29
Vaseline Intensive Care -- $3.29 ($1.50 manu. coupon) = $.29
Revlon nail clippers -- $1.25 ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Revlon emery boards -- $.90 ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Crest toothpaste -- $3 ($1.50 manu. coupon) = free
Crest toothpaste -- $3 ($1.50 manu. coupon) = free
Oral B Indicator toothbrushes double pack -- $3.89 ($2 manu. coupon) = free
Oral B Indicator toothbrushes double pack -- $3.89 ($2 manu. coupon) = free
Carefree pantiliners -- $1.49 ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Johnson's buddy bar soap -- 99 cents ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Johnson's First Aid Tape -- $1.99 ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Ultra Band Aids -- $1.94 ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Ultra Band Aids -- $1.94 ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Johnson's flex gauze -- $3.29 ($2 peelie) = should have been free, but this is where I lost out on that $1.29
Garnier Fructis travel shampoo -- 99 cents ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Garnier Fructis travel shampoo -- 99 cents ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Garnier Fructis travel conditioner -- 99 cents ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Garnier Fructis flex wax -- $1.89 ($1 manu. coupon) = free
Swiffer dustter starter kit -- $4.79 ($2 manu. coupon) = 79 cents
Hershey's kisses -- 64 cents
Hershey's kisses -- 64 cents
Sugar Free Demet's Turtles -- $1.79 ($1.50 manu. coupon) = free
Tax = $1.79

Total before coupons: $52.11
Total after coupons: $2.94

I also used a $5/$50 printable coupon found here. How'd you do? I'd love to see.

The Talk

I was trying to avoid this, hoping to stuff the rumors under the rug. But no chance. So, here goes: The Red Plum is going away from certain papers.

Oh, I know. The tragedy. The horror.

Actually, for me, everything's fine. The two papers I buy are keeping the Red Plums in there.

But what about you? Is your paper one that pulled the RP this month? Check out this list to see if your paper is still carrying the Red Plum. If not, you're stuck with Smart Sources.

Not Tonight Honey Is Not Anymore

As popular television has taught us, if you don't want to have sex, fake a headache.

If you wanna stop the "headache" before it starts, stocking up on headache medicine is the way to go. And Walgreens is ready to help you out.

Excedrin is on sale for $1.99 this week [[02/22 to 02/28]] and it's giving back a $1 Register Reward. But, with all the Bayer you've been amassing lately, 99 cents sounds like a lot to pay. Thank goodness for coupons.

If you head over to Excedrin's Web site, you can print out a coupon for $2 off Excedrin migrane or $2 off Excedrin express gels. You can print two of each from your computer -- so sounds like you're getting money and getting lucky.

Pounding On The Free Pounds

Walgreens is trying to make me fat. Maybe that's Jessica Simpson's problem too. Maybe she just can't pass up a deal. I said "deal" not "meal." Stop being so harsh on me.

You know who is harsh? Celebrities. Everyone keeps claiming to be a size two, when they're not, and they're making me want to stop eating because if I'm a size two and look like me, and they're a size two and look like two of me, either the camera adds ten dress sizes or these girls are lying.

Not that they're fat -- because they're not -- but they're not a size two either.

If Wags has its way, I guess I can kiss my size two pants goodbye.

There's a coupon in Wags' weekly flier making Hershey's chocolate BOGO -- again. There was a BOGO coupon in the 11/09 and the 01/25 SS. Combine these two coupons and you've got some free chocolate.

Also, Hershey's makes Reese's, so Reese's Whipps are included in the deal. There was a $1/2 coupon for these in the 01/04 SS, so buying two of these will give you 11 cents overage to get other stuff. Like Slimquick.

Wash That Body

This deal ends tonight, so this post is going to be quick so you can run out to CVS.

Suave is on sale for $2, and you can get $2 back when you buy three. The deal includes shampoo and body wash. So, if you that free Suave coupon we told you about, now is the time to use it. If not, there are $1 printables here [[as always, limit two]]. So, buy three, use your various coupons, and get back $2. It shouldn't cost you too much out of pocket. Plus, most of the bottles have 50% more for free, so you're doing even better. Now go. Before the sale ends.

The Common Man's Gap

Old Navy is know for cheap flip flops. And it's almost time for those to come out in every color known to man. But, before you start decorating your feet with plastic, you probably need something to wear up top.

So print out this coupon for 40% off one regular priced item, and pick out something to match your future flip flops. Trust me, you'll own a pair -- or nine -- very soon. The coupon expires on February 26, so hurry down there.

Saturday Sample: DentaBurst

Road trips are awesome. Maybe not in the Bonnie and Clyde kind of way, but in the freedom of the road kind of way.

I've had sleepovers in the car where I've brought my toothbrush -- and I had one where I brought DentaBurst. Read that again. One.

The concept of DentaBurst seems like a good one. You slip a piece of powdered-toothpaste covered plastic on your finger and brush. Your saliva mixes with the paste and you get a kind of slimy minty mixture that you're supposed to swallow.

It's great in theory. If you've just had a garlic bagel for lunch at work and then your beau surprises you at the office with flowers, well, you might want to freshen that breath before you make out. So you run to the bathroom real quick with a DentaBurst freshening teeth cleanser and hope for the best. It's the same thing as keeping a condom in your wallet -- you just want to be prepared.

But be prepared for a gross taste, a worst aftertaste, and a general feeling of uncleanliness, not to mention the powder has a tendency of falling on your lap and making a mess. Here's a hint: Don't clean that up with water.

It was interesting to try once, and once was enough.

Redneck Racing

I know two things about NASCAR: one] Pocono is a tri-oval and two] when Jimmie Johnson wins, apparently I do too.

I checked him out and Jimmie Johnson is ranked number 31. That doesn't sounds very good to me. But, it sounds good for Kobalt.

The tool company is running a promo that if Jimmie Johnson wins, so do Kobalt mailing list members. I was going to try to summarize it up nicely, but I figured I don't know enough about drafting to make this make sense, so a cut and paste is in order.
As a member of the Kobalt Garage, we’re giving you a chance to score big savings every time three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, Jimmie Johnson brings home a win in the Kobalt Tools Car. So tune in on February 22nd to see Jimmie tear up the California Speedway in the Auto Club 500. And when he races into the winner circle, don’t forget to check your email Monday for a special Kobalt offer.

Thanks for being a part of the Kobalt Garage. And may your next project be your biggest.
Let's go Jimmy Johnson.

On The Job

Forgive me if this isn't the most incredibly thrilling post you've ever read here at Drugstore Divas. It may actually be the most boring thing on the planet, unless you have a home office in the basement. In that case, you might be thrilled at the rest of this post.

So, anyway, moving forward ... Office Depot has a rewards program. If you sign up in the store, you'll get a $10 off $50 emailed to you. If you sign up online at myworkliferewards.com, you'll receive a $15 of $50.

I guess it's not that exciting, but if you're the kind of person who needs a lot of printer paper, I'm sure you're stoked.

The Right Spot

Sometimes you have to be at the right place at the right time to get the deals. Other times, you just have to be at Target's travel and trial section. They have glorious little free deals there if you and your coupons mingle over that way.

That's what I found out yesterday.

I ended up with the stuff in the picture, but there's more. So, my little Target trial gems are these:
  • Satin Care shave gel. 99 cents. Use the $1/any coupon from the 02/08 P&G to get it for free.
  • Downy liquid fabric softener. 84 cents. Use the $1/any coupon from the P&G home mailer to get it for free.
  • Suave lotion, 3 to 3.5 oz. 99 cents. Use the $1/any coupon from the 01/11 RP to get it for free.
  • Head and Shoulders shampoo. 99 cents. Use the $1/any coupon from the 02/08 P&G to get it for free.
  • Tide one-load detergent [[not pictured]]. 99 cents. Use the $1/any coupon from the P&G home mailer to get it for free.
